Yup it’s hard for me to believe it’s Myles Turner cause man!...that’s just too perfect of a fit! then again I read some months back that sabonis and Turner don’t really click well on court as far as fit together . But for us and this team just too perfect of a fit! I’d be blown away if it’s Turner

Lol of course! horford ....that’s why supes is excited ...here I am thinking it’s a young stud not a old one

Ok I’m going to go Myles Turner! ....I won’t even attempt to guess on the bench star I don’t know who that could be. but I think you’re talking about a center most definitely and if it’s not KAT then Myles Turner is my next best guess

Good call KAT was the name I thought of too as that other star player supes is referring to . I believe the first one is none other than Drummond. Wow really??? Hmmm

We can I just thought maybe Schlenk may trade him....but we can definitely have 3 pgs I wasn’t trying to say we can’t I’d rather we keep Goodwin

Kinda interesting move and says a lot about what the team thinks of Goodwin! Then again maybe they think Goodwin can be traes pg long term but needed a better veteran presence right now to back him up! also I think we have a good chance at resigning Teague this off season maybe to even finish his career here. oh and I doubt we are looking to draft a pg with either pick (ours or Brooklyns) shall we keep both. I think this move screams I want to resign Teague and keep Goodwin for a 3rd pg to develop.

Welcome back Jeff Teague!!! I guess this means Goodwin may be traded
  12. I think it’s because he’s so good as a big man at setting committed screens on and off ball, moving off ball (not necessarily like korver of course but moving in good position to be open), and then add his BBIQ being good on the offensive end when it comes to spacing or cutting to the goal even when he’s not setting any picks...that LPs mindset as a coach is that this guy is going to be open and get his points on plays even when we literally run the play away from him or not for him..... then on top of all that JC is very good at finishing plays PERIOD. Rolling to the goal or stepping out for the 3 doesn’t matter if Collins has a good look he will score! that to me is the things collins can be elite at...he isn’t much of a put the ball on the ground and score type of scorer and think that’s why some of our fans undervalue him but I always say you need a guy on the team like Collins cause everyone can’t handle the ball , even if Collins did have that ability we would still need some off ball talent scorers to go with Trae & Huerter. Collins to me is the Amare Stoudamire of this era but with a 3pt shot. Dude just excels at the things that don’t show up on the box score but he’s a good enough finisher to reveal the results. If there’s anything he could probably become elite at that will show up on the box score where it’d give him more recognition it would probably be him going from a 36% 3pt shooter to a 40% 3pt shooter. I actually believe he very well can do that in fact.
  13. I don’t know much about this guy at all but after watching that above play by play of him vs the rockets....I can tell you right now that pop isn’t giving that young guy up without a very good return! kind of crazy cause his box score stats aren’t eye opening at all but I can see the impact he can have as he goes on in his nba career. I like that Schlenk likes him but the spurs organization is just too smart!...I’d be shocked if they traded Poeltl away...he has good enough potential where he could become a very good role player there like a Tiago Splitter or something

Supes what about mo bamba availability?
  15. Interesting so Atlanta want him but not over 20 mil per....welp time to move on! I thought 23-25 mil was a fair deal for him but Schlenk is clearly not for that. I didn’t think a salary of 23-25 mil for Drummond over 4 years would hurt us salary cap wise but maybe it will , I need cap guru to explain how it’ would impact resigning our core young guys. yoooooo chillll ...I bout damn near passed out laughing at this!
  16. Huerter was outstanding! If we get that huerter consistently....our back court will be one of the best in the league! Huerter was scoring on at all phases as well, showcased his playmaking ability, and not sure if anyone else noticed but I thought huerter defense rotations were on point tonight. defense was good tonight overall. Bembry and the rooks did the damn thing on that end . Effort was good overalltonight . trae took over in the 4th while relying on his team throughout the whole game. I really felt like trae did his best to pace this game in a Kobe like mentality. He wasn’t quite in quarters 1-3 but he was quite lol...I knew 4th quarter he was going to turn it up! He looked refreshed in the 4th like he had more energy than normal in the 4th....outstanding performance to seal it. collins was good outside of a few silly fouls.

I wonder if Schlenk would trade to get Dennis back.

Gotcha I will have to say we will agree to disagree on this one! sounds like you’re putting bam and sabonis on the same level as bogut, spieghts, zaza lol...and I think there’s a wide gap between the talent of bam and sabonis compared to those guys. bam and sabonis has real impact on their teams both offensively and defensively to me. They aren’t out there just setting screens and playing dirty like zaza... I mean physical like zaza...

Gotcha.... that’s understandable! It really is but the approach is odd to me. You don’t have to make trades to build a great bench when you have the amount of cap space the hawks care going to have this summer! there may not be many stars in this free agency coming up but there’s enough good talent to build a outstanding bench in free agency. it’s very telling of Schlenk abilities as a gm if he would rather build a bench off of trades rather than possibly fighting for bench talent in the off season and I don’t mean that as an insult to him as it doesn’t matter how you do it as long as you get what you want but I thought the hawks could get a vanvleet or someone of that talent via free agency simply by giving a few extra millions...with them trying to do a mid season overhaul (trying)...it somewhat sends out a signal that they aren’t confident that even a good bench player would look the Hawks way via free agency...did I take it too far? ...someone probably agrees with me whateve in Schlenk we trust

Maybe you’re right ...I think Giannis and embiid forces East teams to have quality big men however ...or your not beating those teams when it comes the post season (well not Giannis...embiid should be on that kind of level but that’s another story)...that is my opinion of course Then there’s also more good East centers coming up in bam and sabonis starting to make their names! so i just think (again my opinion) when you’re building a team to really compete in the EAST you have to consider that the center position is pretty damn good...very good on the top 4-6 teams outside of the Celtics while most being young not even in the so called prime ages (27-32) and I don’t think you can just toss any ol center out there in the east like the warriors did in the west during their championship years . I fear Schlenk coming from golden state just don’t truly value the 5 position very much. .........as far as the east perimeter stars go...Tatum, brown, Butler...yeah I’m not so much worried about those guys lol. I mean we got trae and he’s a handful alone ! When reddish or hunter get it going and hopefully live up to the hype we are going to be able to battle evenly or have an advantage on the perimeter one day. Hopefully anyways .

Alright I got another one @NBASupes...maybe you will know the answer to this , maybe not. I will try to explain it best I can! Is Travis and the front office considering the elites already established in the east while considering these moves to build out the team? ....Asking since the current young elites in the east will still be elites even when our young guys grow up and are in years 4-5. If I can clarify a bit more.... Giannis for example is only 24 or 25 and he’s possibly getting ready to be a back to back mvp on a very good team. It may sound crazy as F**k to even bring a player like Giannis caliber up since we are no where near to even being a average team but since a guy like Giannis is still so young, him and embiid and other young East superstars are going to be around the east for a loooonnngggg time and they’ll still be there when our guys are ready to take big steps.... ......so with the above said is Travis and company keeping in mind (during these possible trade negotiations) of the current elites in the east we will likely run into once we are ready to really compete? (it’s a interesting question because I see a team like the Celtics who probably could get to the championship but there’s just no way in hell they are equipped to even slow down a big like Giannis or even embiid...Ainge is good but he completely ignored the big man position in my opinion....I am hoping Schlenk has full intentions to be as complete as possible at all positions)

Gotcha I would say he if he’s acquired it’s just to see how he looks with trae and Collins but even if he Does fit and plays well with them..I get a sense That Schlenk would still have a worry about giving him max money to keep him. On the flip side I was thinking about such a deal to get Drummond here and if we kept him I’m sure he’d be on a very strict diet not to lose weight necessarily but just to be better conditioned. looks like to me Drummond can be a hell of a problem if gets in a bit better shape similar to embiid situation (not that Drummond is embiid but I think you get what I’m saying)...better conditioning would make Drummond an absolute beast on all phases.

    Ask Supes

Hmmmm well that writes off Drummond in free agency then shall they are able to make all the moves they want before the deadline
  24. Please stop! i hate the reference “empty stats”...they say that about trae but unless you watch every game you can’t give a real opinion on that. we all watch every hawks game here at the squawk and we KNOW traes offensive impact is mega real and when he’s not on the court we are absolutely pathetic on offense and they can’t buy a bucket to save their lives! Sure defense steps up without trae but not well enough to stay in games. Same could be said about KAT...I wouldn’t make such an assumption he puts up empty stats . I highly doubt it.

    Ask Supes

Soooo what about the cap space for the summer?...are they at all worried about that during negotiations? Or just more so worried about getting 6-7 new vets possibly to keep for 2-3 years?
