  1. Wonder how long that will last.
  2. Sure but if it’s so easy why wouldn’t Quinn just do this then? why is Trae always the scapegoat for what we can’t do offensively for some of our posters. I’m sure if Hunter got a set play and dropped buckets Trae would happily let him get on a roll.
  3. Nope it’s Traes fault because….
  4. Why is his role gloryless ? Because of Trae ? So because this role doesn’t produce satisfying SF stats it’s hard to fill “it” ?….then you’re going back to the love of a SF prototype build of size, length, strength, discipline and Hunter doesn’t use all these qualities all the time. JJ didn’t even get a chance to play SF since Hunter has been out so not sure why you brought him into this. It’s been mainly Bey and Matthew’s but we all know bey isn’t good at defense and the only thing he can provide is energy but you can’t complain at effort. What exactly is the “it” ?…. Playing defense, spotting up for 3s, and only avg 12 or so points? It’s not fair to take out advanced stats to fit an agenda. It doesn’t matter what the role of the player is. We can’t use advanced stats to justify 1 player sucking but not use it to justify another player who also sucks. This! This is exactly how I see it. Dre is an ok player and he is needed but the way this team is constructed 1 starter out of the lineup is pure hell on this team. They all have different roles but the role they serve is so impactful that there’s no one else on the roster who can backfill or make up 50% of what the starting unit does…it’s not just Dre it’s all the starting lineup. Take away Trae - we have no playmakers. As others pointed out already Murray cannot run point a full game. JJ is this teams second best passer and every once in a while Bogi gives us a little razzle dazzle but really Trae is still by a very wide margin the head of the snake for this offensive unit. Take away Bogi - We have no other consistent pure 3pt snipers. Take away Murray - now we are limited on who can actually score vs 1 on 1 defense. We have Bogi and JJ to try making it up for it in Murray’s absence but not a likable substitute. Take away Capela - now we can’t rebound shit. We already suck on the boards but now we really are terrible and will easily get crushed. i don’t need to list Hunter since it’s been covered but point is all these players have roles that are so important and impactful that 1 starter injury hurts this team because the backup cannot fill the shoes of the starter.
  5. Dre is just avg. I don’t hate Dre I just don’t think he’s impactful enough to praise his game. the truth is there’s multiple players needed to win games for this team and when we miss one guy or one starter it’s way too impactful.
  6. @NBASupes….i guess the @TheNorthCydeRises is also right when he told us a long time ago that this team is better when Trae scores 30 or more points… https://www.statmuse.com/nba/ask?q=atlanta+hawks+record+when+trae+young's+scores+30+or+more+points+2023-2024
  7. https://www.statmuse.com/nba/ask?q=atlanta+hawks+record+without+jalen+johnson+2023-2024
  8. What’s the record I’m curious and shocked if it’s truly that much better and I’m not even a Dre basher on this board, I just know he is what he is which is avg at best with an elite prototype SF build.
  9. When you’re literally at the games it’s worse. lol I know that feeling. Are the stands still filled up ?…seems to be watching on the TV.
  10. He is one of the problems. He definitely ain’t the savior of the team. We lose with and without him. gotta make it make sense.
  11. That’s a Quinn question
  12. Could not find any type of offense the last 4 minutes of the game! trae, murray, bogi are our best scorers and they were terrible the last 4 minutes of this game. Smh we really need a easy bucket scorer who can get a high percentage shot. We actually got stops and plenty of opportunities this game too.
  13. And Synder goes away from all those combinations smh! we don’t need Capela out there at this point of the game.
  14. Is this our closing lineup we been searching for all season ??? trae, murray, Bogi, Jalen, OO maybe too early to tell but this lineup has some good chemistry offensively and at least defensively that tip the ball a lot giving us a chance at defensive stops. I’m confident he will get it going though.
  15. At least he’s being aggressive tonight. He still is out place defensively on some plays but he’s definitely making a small impact with his aggressiveness.
  16. Quinn just need to stick with the same lineups and use them when they matter. when we needed to go small we went small and when we needed to go big we went big. Quinn need to do this more often and when one of these lineups get it going and get hot don’t take them out! Ride the wave!
  17. I agree….he don’t have to play the 4….he can truly play both. Did you see Jalen staying in front of Fox on multiple possessions! Dude is great with on ball defense and he knows how to use his length! jalen is our point of attack defender but he doesn’t get that responsibility nearly enough.
  18. Biggest difference is that Jalen is back and Bey is actually giving us a lot of activity at SF. Beys activity give us more hope than Hunters lack of effort and physical play even if Bey is ultimately a worse defender than Hunter. OO is playing aggressive tonight too. All his defense hasn’t been good but aggression can cause hesitancy. i hope they can keep this up 2nd half. This team excels when they run the floor and play at a fast pace. i would like to these same lineup combinations more often going forward including the BIG lineup. Even when we had Patty out there with Trae and Bogi…Patty plays so aggressive it’s just all a spark. This team need some damn attitude folks cause good things happen when they assert themselves.
  19. The only way this works is if you put big physical defenders around these 3. im good with this as long as we can find the right physical SF and long defensive center who can also make a 3 if open.
  20. Great post and I 100% agree with every point you made.
  21. I didn’t realize his tattoo was off centered ….these kids today are hilarious. Anyways I’d still take Zion paired with Trae! Belly and all! ….Fat man can make impact and lawd knows we need size.
  22. At this point I feel like we need to just make an adjustment of putting Hunter on our bench . I know that’s an expensive contract on the bench but since he’s not even considered an avg SF by the numbers maybe we can get his value back up by allowing him to play off the bench. we are either going to have to trade for OG or pay Bey when it’s time. Exactly what I was thinking.
  23. As one of our insiders I’d love for you to ask your sources so we’d know lol but in all seriousness at least in my opinion it’s a mixture of the NBA and flashiness of what the Atlanta market looks for. ATL is truly a flashy city when it comes to professional sports. We don’t want to just win…we want to look good while winning! Living here really makes you realize that lol…for example Matt Ryan was hated here for the most part. I mean hated. When technically he is best franchise QB the falcons has ever had. But falcon fans aka Atlanta fans love flashiness so much Ryan was constantly compared to Vick. I loved Vick when he was here but let’s be real he wasn’t better than Ryan once Marty Ice got pass those horrible early playoff games. At one point I thought maybe it was a black vs white thing here in Atlanta but nope lol…I asked white fans at tons of falcon games who would they rather have Vick vs Ryan and 95% of the white fans always took Vick. My fellow falcon fans believe we created “scrambling” but that’s another topic. when the whole Trae vs Doncic came about and rumors swirled that Trae was wanted because he fits Atlanta flashy persona better I definitely believed it. Perhaps race was a bit of deciding factor but ultimately it was “style of play”…Atlanta loves the cool flashiness of star players and it’s the market we live in and it’s always been that way in my opinion. Trae is a huge asset to this franchise because of what the Atlanta market wants to see…and the Hawks finally got a flashy star in their hands so the goal now is to win but with flashiness. i say all that to say that perhaps other NBA superstars looking at the hawks from the outside don’t believe we are serious about winning. I mean when Johnson was our star the stands weren’t packed until playoffs. Horford complained about the Atlanta fan base cause of this but that team while decent wasn’t flashy or appealing…..these other nba superstars are probably thinking “All Atlanta wants is a show, not a title…just a show” And as for the NBA…this nba is not known for promoting another franchise to the top. They are going to promote the historic franchises until one of the bottom feeders figure out a way to dominate the league….curry’s warriors are a great example of this. So until the hawks become a force the nba will not be helping promote stars teaming up in Atlanta…that’s my theory.
  24. I think we are stuck with Hunter. I think at one point he was highly conveyed due to his prototype more so than his production but with another knee injury on the same knee that gave him issues the earlier seasons I can’t see how he’d have any value for other teams. Hunter is officially injury prone player. Now is that time to move him just to get off his contract like we stupidly did Huerter. For Hunter we have a legitimate reason to just move on from him now. I say trade him for a 1 year contract just to get him off the books at this point. The wait is over, Dre is who he is. Ain’t no coming out party happening. He will likely be another journey man like Cam but may get opportunities like Cam cause of his build.
  25. Well that’s great news if your source was told the truth. I have a hard time believing in Ressler. I do however believe his son loves the team and maybe that’s an influence on him to have more love for this franchise. I know you are stronger in the trade Trae scenario than soft rebuild but I honestly believe the soft rebuild is the better move. If we tried to trade Trae or even put him on the market teams are just going to wait out the two years and throw terrible ass trade offers along the way. The league isn’t fair and Atlanta is a franchise that rarely comes out on top in trades….it just is what it is. I think @terrell gave a good trade too for both teams but deals don’t end fair both ways when the hawks are involved. If we want Zion we are going to have to be ok with getting “robbed” to get him here paired with Trae. I think that’s an expectation that we just have to live with on any soft rebuild plan for a superstar. Pels is going want Bogi, Murray, CC, AJ, a first rd pick in return for Zion and some scrub fillers or any other bad contracts that they may have. sorry to be negative but you have to think of worse case scenario with the hawks and unfair trades to get what you want . Similar to how we landed Murray.
