  1. Many of us are already expecting it honestly. Not really breaking news. The NBA has changed in this regard. On the flip side while I typically agree with most of your points I gotta say I’m still happy Trae pushed the front office and ended the tank years early. i get the whole let’s build it completely out theory but hawks miss too often in the draft and in free agency. I am nba historian when it comes to franchises and our franchise rarely gets lucky, gets it right, anything that relates to contender success. my personal opinion don’t matter but just because Trae said “put a winner “ around me doesn’t mean to throw a bunch of bad contracts to players. The Collins deal should have never happened. I don’t care what anyone says, it was obvious. The Huerter trade was a result of a bad FO and cheap owner. The Collins trade was another result as bad FO. Fast forward to the Murray deal and honestly…us hawk fans just don’t get those kind of opportunities often (as you know). You damn right hawks fans got happy about that deal because we very rarely make good moves. At the end of the day if Trae leaves Atlanta at least I can say that little dude gave all he could and he tried to change the Hawks culture. Shit I love the fact that Trae even tries to recruit!…our last big time star Joe Johnson was so damn quiet I’d be shocked if he did any recruiting. i know you not in love with Trae and I can say some of this can be blamed on him but also some this is a result of a bad front office and ownership of not having a plan once you finally land a star talent for franchise that’s been mediocre for 50+ seasons.
  2. Man Trae and Zion would be too good to be true. i have no issue with Zion as long as his fat ass plays and does what he’s supposed to do. The weight stuff is media bs…Zion is playing and putting up good numbers …he’s just doing this all with being on the chubby side and nba can’t market his fat ass like they planned to do.
  3. Sure I don’t disagree with that but the value in return is the problem. I just don’t see us pulling off a star for a star trade IF we had to do it. We are in a bad situation to some degree. It may be worth just trying to make the team better and pulling off some obvious trades. For example…I saw where you said a very obvious trade for the hawks right now would be Capela for Vucevic…I 100% agree. The defense ain’t there so mind as well go for the most explosive offense you can. I do wonder what Trae & Murray is wanting out of this ???….are these two requesting that we get Siakam by any means possible ???
  4. I’m a huge Trae fan or Trae “Stan” as @NBASupes like to call us! Lol doesn't bother me….BUT even as a big Trae fan I would do a deal like this too before Trae walks away from us for nothing. It just is what it is. with that said and I hate to be negative but there’s a bigger chance Trae walks away for nothing than us trading for another star like booker. sucks being a hawks fan but time and time again they just don’t get it done and this franchise never has. It’s almost like a toss up Soth and Supes….you know what I mean ?…like yeah trading Trae for another young star who has years left on their contract is smart but when know this franchise is straight up ass when it comes to getting things done …it feels like we may just be better off trying one last time to build around Trae in hope that he just resigns and that the extra year we can offer means a lot to him.
  5. Ok I’m going to read between the lines here. Sounds like the interest in Siakam is dead for the most part. Atlanta is mainly after OG and it may be possible they’ll trade Murray to get him since they love Bogi so much maybe even more than Murray under Synder. Bogi could easily go back as a starter as the fit between Trae and Bogi is just working too good and even better than Trae and Murray offensively. Then you would have a lineup of Trae, Bogi, OG, Jalen, OO or Capela. Hunter off the bench with Bey for now. we’d have to make another trade if this is the hawks BIG plans because theres still issues. We’d need a backup point guard and SG off the bench unless there’s plans of a heavy dose of the rookie.
  6. Gotcha…it sounds like this may be somewhat of the framework between Hawks and Raptors once DJ is available to be traded. I threw in DJ since you said “don’t be surprised”….i added both Patty and AJ but then I was thinking no way we give up all those guards in a deal and not take one back from Toronto so I threw in the World Cup defensive star aka lil Goldie… Personally I’d do this deal in a heartbeat and bring Hunter off the bench to start Jalen at the 3.
  7. Interesting…if Toronto doesn’t want Hunter then I don’t understand how that deal would come close to working unless a 3rd team is involved.
  8. If we had a more aggressive front court I truly believe the Trae/DJ backcourt would not be under any kind of microscope but we get bullied just too damn much. The easy fix is to include Murray in a trade that puts more aggressive players around Trae who has size and length. Murray is still a good player no doubt but I’m starting to believe (IF POSSIBLE)…a gamble trade to get OG and Siakam is worth it. Tony just has to be ready pay big bucks next offseason.
  9. I won’t be shocked. I’m one of the few on this board that said Murray will need to be traded (unfortunately). if we can have a starting lineup of Trae, OG, Jalen, Siakam, OO or Capela that’s a better lineup around Trae. The issue I have with any deal for both OG and Siakam is that it will definitely include Murray, Hunter and Bogi…I have a big issue with trading away Bogi. Bogi fits too well in Synders scheme.
  10. I understand but why not just trade away Murray instead and put Bogi back in the starting lineup? Murray may be more talented than Bogi overall but Bogi fits Quinn’s system better. i get that Bogi is injury prone but I don’t believe health is the only reason he’s having such a great season. He’s also playing this well because he simply just fits this whole scheme better than anyone else on the team. Nate didn’t know how to use Bogi and now that we have a coach who does, Bogi is flourishing. No one else wants to admit it but Bogi is the better offensive two guard in Atlanta not Murray. If we do trade Bogi , we need to package him with Hunter or CC and actually get back players who can make real impact but I would rather trade Murray since we aren’t getting what we traded for out of him unfortunately. It’s odd to me because Murray just isn’t making the impact under Quinn I expected from him. I love that he took a paycut to stay but something is missing.
  11. I’m glad we got the win but I gotta rant about this… Synder has to stop taking Bogi out at the end of games for Murray. im sorry folks but Murray has been fuc**ng terrible at the end of games this season. It’s either a dumb play, bad turnover, or something. Murray doesn’t even get his shot up in clutch situations this season. Come on Quinn, stop putting this man in at the end of games when Bogi has it going. Rant over….good win hawks and big shout out to Trae! Dude is playing like pure superstar with good defense! I’m proud of Trae.
  12. Synder need to put Bogi back in and put Murray on the bench. Trae don’t need to pass to anyone except Bogi. Murray has been so terrible at the end of games this season it’s ridiculous
  13. Don’t give the call up Trae!
  14. I feel that Murray should be benched and Bogi should be finishing this game in the backcourt with Trae OMG…please bench Murray!
  15. And that’s exactly what happens. smh
  16. Personally I think it’s Quinn’s system. Bogi just fits this style better and he’s knows where his shots are in this scheme. Bogi is just comfortable…I can honestly see him keeping up this level of play. I wouldn’t compare Bogi under Nate to Bogi under Synder personally because Nate didn’t know how to use him. im not saying don’t trade him but what’s the point I guess is what I’m trying to understand. I personally say trade away Murray to get more value back if we are going to pick a SG to place on the trade block.
  17. Yes the vision of putting long defenders and shooters around Trae has become an afterthought that’s is very unfortunate but that vision should have never left regardless of if we are in draft phase or asset trading phase….if that’s our identity then that’s our identity. i think the identity has changed back to this however now that Quinn is a decision maker. I believe Quinn wants long defending shooters around Trae. I believe that’s the very reason Synder is so high on a Siakam trade. i know folks hate when I say let’s start Hunter at the 2 but the recommendation comes from a need rather than a want….nevertheless if we are going to have a small backcourt then so be it however you need an absolute BEAST in the front court to balance things out. Last I feel like if we could just get a big body center who can hit a 3…like Vucevic to go with a speedy backcourt of Trae and Murray and a forward pairing of Siakam and Jalen Johnson!….we would be heading in the right direction again.
  18. If JJ gets involved then they’d have to also trade us OG. it would be a pretty big ass risk for us to take on two potential players that may walk in the offseason but that’s the only way I’d even consider trading JJ.
  19. I thought Murray was eligible January 5th to be traded.
  20. “He’s having to guard out of his position right now” yeah that one line says it all for me. It’s very likely being discussed internally that the backcourt just can’t defend with Trae & Murray. Love Murray but they gotta trade him. Got to put size around Trae.
  21. I don’t understand how any hawks fan can watch these games and not see that length and strength are our biggest concerns. We can’t play defense because we have no size what so ever. The effort to defend starts to become a loss cause….if you can’t make up for strength and length with effort then you’re just doomed. sorry folks but we are just getting punked on easy baskets and NO it’s not Traes fault! Hell Trae is having a good year defensively for his status. He’s put way more effort in defensively and he’s had 4 or 5 games this season with key defensive stops. I’m over the experiment. I don’t regret the Murray trade I just think circumstances changed when Synder took over for Nate. With Nate you need another go to scorer because Nate isn’t forcing the ball and player movement. With Synder you need the go to scorer when the offense breaks down or when key clutch baskets are needed. NO ONE wants to say it but Bogi is better than Murray under Synders offense system so that made Murray’s offensive game expendable…the need for Murray’s 1 on 1 game just isn’t as big of a need now. Im hoping the Siakam trade goes down but not for Hunter…I rather we trade Murray and no I don’t hate Murray but again the circumstances has just changed. The Trae/Murray tandem worked offensively but not defensively and the offense isn’t impactful enough to overcome the very poor team defense. i think it would be a huge mistake to trade Hunter in any package for Siakam when Murray isn’t our 2nd best offensive weapon (Bogi is)…and Murray isn’t our top defensive option (Trae has passed him up). the front office got to get over their past mistakes and keep moving. As long as we have Trae we have a top 10 offense that’s just facts. Trae and Murray has to score tough baskets too often also. Siakam can fix that and get some easy baskets offensively. I hope to see us go with a big lineup soon (post major trade)…. Trae, Hunter, Jalen, Siakam, Capela or Trae, Hunter, Jalen, Siakam, Vucevic (via trade with bulls)
  22. Finally someone else is understanding why I’m saying we need to trade Murray.
  23. We would have the same record with Collin’s. He wasn’t an impactful enough player to challenge outcomes . The trade wasn’t good but Collin’s was no difference maker to the extent of wins and losses.
  24. Same here. i don’t mind a Siakam deal but I’m not sure we are trading away the right player. im sure I’m alone on this but I think Murray should be the player traded. We are too worried about positional basketball when we really only need to be worried about how we are going to win. The only positions that matter is PG and Center. SG, SF, PF are all interchangeable in this new nba era. i don’t hate Murray by any means….i just think with us having such a small back court the only way it’s going to work is if we have a very long and physical front court so we can really have an advantage of a Trae & Murray backcourt.
  25. Yeah I love Murray but he need to be traded. At it’s nice to have another player go and get his own shot but in Quinn’s system it doesn’t seem like it’s needed as badly when we traded for Murray. Bogi is actually the better scoring SG in this system. Nate allowed iso ball for a whole game which made the trade make more sense but we are moving the ball a lot more now even though we have droughts where the ball movement stops. Add to the fact that Murray isn’t a point of attack defender (at least not at the 2)…. we need to trade Murray. I wonder how many others will start to see this.
