  1. Smh if we trade Bogi for that I’m at a complete lost with this team. it also shows they have no vision.
  2. Exactly. It’s not a good trade and doesn’t move the needle for us. Caruso is a good defender but I rather we do something else. basically we are saying curuso is worth Bogi + two first picks!…WTF! ….His defense is good but not that damn good. Curuso doesn’t fix the huge rebounding issues we have. we mind as well throw in Capela for vucevic while we are at it
  3. Hate that trade can’t even lie
  4. Trae balled out and tried to keep us in it but we lack so much length and strength. shit went down hill when Synder took Trae and Capela out the game. say what you guys want but this feel like the old hawks relying all on trae offensively. When the ball is in his hands good things are happening in this game. When it’s not it’s like we can’t score. I hope Murray get it together or maybe Bogi need more minutes this game. Yeah it happened as soon as Capela was out of the game. Synder left CC out way too long. Capela was dominating them before he sat.
  5. Patty should be getting more minutes in blowouts like this in my opinion. he can be a big factor later on in the year
  6. Traes offense is officially in season form.
  7. Overall hawks look a little sluggish to me tonight . They aren’t up and down the court as fast as they normally are. it doesn’t look like we are playing at the same pace so far.
  8. I’m proud of Traes refocus to prioritize defense. He’s doing more than enough and check out Trae with 5 rebounds in the 1st half. go head then Trae! If he can show this most nights …there would be no complaints.
  9. Bogi is so bad defensively. worse than Trae this season by far and Trae has really stepped it up. OO again out on the perimeter
  10. Unless I’m reading this wrong….from an offensive and defensive rating perspective it looks like this is our most impactful lineup. D. Murray - T. Young - O. Okongwu - S. Bey - J. Johnson I think Jalen should continue to start and maybe Hunter should try coming off the bench. I certainly don’t think Bey is a better defender than Hunter but I do believe Bey puts in a lot more effort on all phases of basketball over Hunter at this point. Especially rebounding.
  11. Interesting….now I’m curious if our rebound rate as a team is better with OO or Capela
  12. Just throwing this out there but I’m starting to wonder if just playing Capela true starter minute’s would fix the majority rebounding issues we are facing. it’s simple..put our best rebounder back on the floor for longer (starter minutes)…AND adjust this defensive scheme that has our bigs away from the goal constantly.
  13. I understand Rome wasn’t built in a day but Quinn’s offensive scheme is the only true improvement so far. the defensive scheme need a lot of work and understanding. I’m not even sure I completely understand what Quinn’s defensive scheme is for our bigs. they often look out of position. I understand sometimes that’s due to the guards where the bigs are making up for them but let’s be real….we’ve seen our guards in the post way too often this season, which makes me believe it’s definitely a scheme thing. anyone that can explain Synder defensive scheme please do…this doesn’t look like the Utah defensive scheme in my opinion.
  14. Ok this is true. We are out of position often especially our bigs. I don’t recall Capela having a problem with being in position to secure defensive boards under Mcmillian so it’s got to be Quinns scheme that they are confused about or still learning.
  15. Yup I noticed this too. it’s very obvious to see. im seeing a few mention trades but I’m thinking…if we getting initial stops and just hit grabbing defensive boards that shouldn’t be hard to fix …right ???
  16. Just curious what are you getting from his pressers?….is it that his defense requires a historic defensive figure like Gobert just to work? is he trying to utilize Capela and OO like Gobert and realizing he’s at just not working ??
  17. This is what should be discussed more. Not this debate about Trae vs Wall and/or whoever else. I think a game like this answers a lot of questions. One of the biggest questions this season has been about Traes scoring efficiency and slow start….no doubt that Trae need to continue to fix his scoring efficiency as the season goes on but with this game we knew Trae is and can be a juggernaut offensively. Trae was very efficient this game and kept the turnovers down while playing defense to the best of his abilities. Trae the so called WOAT even got end of game clutch defensive play that put us in position to tie/ win the game…..despite all of this good Trae talk regarding this game it proves my point. We don’t need Trae to be the 30/10 guy anymore to have a top 5 offensive team. Trae can avg 18/12 and this team will still be a top 5 offense team. That’s not to say Trae doesn’t need to be an efficient scorer but I am saying trae dropping a ton of points doesn’t impact the win column like past seasons. How we go about adjusting the front court will be interesting.
  18. I think we should consider putting OO in at the 4. we need to take a hit on offense to improve the defense as much as possible in my opinion. Front court need to be JJ, OO, Capela….Hunter split minutes at the 3 and JJ at the 4. we need some kind of defensive urgency/strong points. Need some dawg like mentality.
  19. Damn Bogi and OO ain’t doing shit but fouling .
  20. Damn we really have a rebounding issue. No box outs…our guys are just out there jumping around It’s really damn bad !
  21. Damn so second chance points being allowed cause we can’t get a defensive rebound even when we make the opponent miss and on top of that we allowing a historic amount of points on cuts! geeeezzzzz I mean I didn’t think it could get worse after the second chance points issue but I stand corrected. now during the games that’s the main two things I will be looking out for as I tell the players names while giving orders at my tv.
  22. Not a hockey fan but I root for all ATL professional sports so it’s nice to see a comeback!
  23. This! ….it’s funny that we are ranked so low defensively because we actually do get opponents to miss their shots but when you allow offensive rebounds as often as we do , it’s like you’re not completing the full job. Per some …Capela isn’t around the goal as much in this new defensive scheme. I haven’t really rewatched games to make my own analysis…but I would say we need to find a way to keep this scheme going but making significant efforts to crash the boards! Then and only then our defense will look improved on paper and by the eye test. If we don’t see why improvement I’m not opposed to starting Jalen at 3 , OO at 4, & CC stay at 5…..we need urgent steady aggressiveness in the front court. These 3 will get at it defensively and on the glass. Maybe we can’t take a step backwards offensively to be more balanced.
  24. I’m not really concerned about the small backcourt. It gets mentioned often around here but I personally believe the front court not being tall and lengthy is a much bigger issue.
  25. Among this group I’m going to say Bey is the one who will actually step up . I like Beys aggressiveness with how he approaches the game . Always looks like he putting forth his best efforts.
