  1. That's one thing that has always stuck in the back of my mind: When will Josh's game plateau, and when will it start to decline? I know this is still a ways off but he will eventually need to develop another part of his game if he wants to help prevent this. I could see Josh's career being similar to McDyess. He always relied on his athleticism in his heyday, but has really worked on other parts of his game and is still a major contributor for good teams. Of course, he went through a major injury as well.
  2. I think you're not getting what UGA is saying. I think we all know how valuable Jamal has been this season and how much he has helped us win games. At the same time he is no Joe. Jamal can't distribute the as well nor play defense the way Joe does. Also, I think the main difference is offensive consistency. Jamal can be on fire some games but for others, he can be downright awful. Joe is much more consistent overall. If Joe is playing bad, he can still rely on his distribution of the ball to help the offense. If Jamal isn't shooting well, he is pretty useless on offense unless he can draw fouls. While I love having Crawford in his current role and am so glad we got him, I've also realized how much more of a complete player Joe is.
  3. So we have the complainers on one side, and now we have the people complaining about the complainers on the other side? :computer8: I guess you can consider me neutral.
  4. I don't like this thread title......very misleading.
  5. See now you're smart. I wish I had fallen asleep and had sweet dreams that we had won and found out later. I had a restless night after that loss. Don't know if I can handle staying up for the Jazz tonight, hopefully they'll be killing us by halftime.
  6. I'll go with 25. I hope it's not close, I could use some sleep tonight.
  7. Yeah, it's kind of hard to take over when everybody else is getting the ball. Pretty ridiculous how much Josh and Zaza got the ball in the post. Stubborn coaching. Going to the paint worked in the 3rd but obviously the Warriors made some changes. That's when you have to change your game plan but obviously Woody couldn't grasp that.
  8. Co-signed. Joe was the only one who played well all 4 quarters.
  9. If I were a player, the Hawks would definitely be the most intriguing to me as far as teams that can offer the MLE. Utah and OKC are the only really true "contenders."

Yeah I don't see why everybody is freaking out because we haven't made changes. Stability is what has gotten us from a 13 win season to now. Sure, I wouldn't mind another small piece to add to the bench but I'm not going to be mad if nothing is done.
  11. I agree that Marvin could easily be pitched as a low risk/high upside player. Personally I don't think there is much more upside, but other teams may see it because of his youth. Either way, you at least know what you're getting with Marvin and anything extra is icing on the cake.
  12. This is like the what came first the chicken or the egg argument. A good pass generally equals a shot and an assist to the passer. But also if a team is hitting a ton of shots, the assists will pile up if the ball is moving. Arguing this point is kind of moot IMO.
  13. Yeah I think it will be good to see what some of the contracts given in 2010 will be like before throwing out numbers.
  14. I don't get the And-1 Globetrotter reference. Fact is, the guy has the best crossover on the team which allows him to shake guys and get to the rim or get up a shot. He's not showing off, he's just good at what he does. A lot of the times when he has taken crazy shots, he has been able to draw the foul and sometimes even hit the shot so I'm not complaining. I mean he's shooting 46% which is extremely good for him and for a guard in general.
  15. I don't think we can blame Woody, fact is Law just wasn't good. If a player has enough confidence, he will make the most of his minutes no matter how little he gets. Either way, I don't believe he is the same as Acie at all. Teague has a ton more quickness, athleticism, and defensive skills compared to Acie, he just has to work on finishing and his jumper. I'm hoping working with Bibby will help on his jumper and I think he just needs more confidence with finishing at the rim. He just really needs to put it all together, which we'll see if he does. I think it's still kind of up in the air, but I'll give him until next year.
  16. It is postponed at the moment but I bet it gets canceled. I've heard it's only getting worse up there.
  17. http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/multimedia/photo_gallery/1002/nba.underrated.players/content.1.html Doesn't surprise me. He puts up great numbers but doesn't have the "superstar" mentality or demeanor. He just quietly goes about his business.
  18. Yeah I've noticed his poor play lately too. He needs a fire lit under his you know what! If he were racking in rebounds or playing superb defense, I'd be okay with it but he is nonexistent on both ends of the floor.
  19. I agree that 4 would be the most that we SHOULD lose. We've got a really good February schedule and need to take advantage of it.
  20. I think JJ's inability to get to the free throw line is going to keep him from getting to 50. If you look at some of the games where players score that much, they're usually getting at least 10 free throw attempts in.
  21. Yeah is game going to the bucket isn't smooth by any means. No control. He just doesn't "look" like a basketball player out there a lot of times. I've never seen someone get blocked or not know how to finish around the rim like Marvin. The one good thing he is good at is drawing fouls, I'll give him that. For the most part though, he seems happy to kind of stay faded in the background.
  22. Yeah this is getting a little ridiculous. Joe can be selfish at times, but he isn't aiming that at anyone in particular.
  23. If the division stays like this I think it will be exciting to see how it plays out the rest of the season. I think the hawks seed will go a long way in determining how far we can go in the playoffs.
  24. Well, at least Joe is getting some respect from the fans on ESPN. Too bad the NBA all-star voting doesn't match this.
  25. Agreed. Add that to the fact that Atlanta is so spread out, and a lot of people don't want to have to drive into the city and deal with traffic (especially on weekdays).
