  1. Definitely the rebounding has helped. If you're getting defensive stops and rebounding, that allows you to push the ball and get points in the paint. It all works together.
  2. I agree that although their numbers may be similar, Crawford demands much more attention from a defense than Flip does. That alone is more useful to us and it also allows more pressure to be taken off of JJ when both are in the game.
  3. :thumbsupsmileyanim: When you say something positive, you know things are going good!
  4. I don't like to make excuses for fans not showing up, but these are some pretty good reasons. You my friend should take over as head of marketing. Seriously though, i know a couple people that work in the Philips marketing department and I think they could do a LOT better.
  5. The only negative from the game (per Hollinger): "For the home side, the one disappointment was how few people were there to see the dramatic win. Atlantans who stayed home to see Pau Gasol's "CSI: Miami" debut made a horrible mistake, as the few who showed up were treated to one of the most thrilling games of the season. One hopes more of them will show up on Wednesday, when Dwyane Wade and the Heat show up -- the announced crowd of 12,977 was pathetic enough for a game of this magnitude, but for much of the first half the arena appeared to have fewer than half that many people. "We need the support," said Woodson. "Amazing things can happen when the house is filled." I keep hearing people say this is a basketball city, but we're tops in the league at the moment and we've yet to prove it. I realize it was a Monday game...but still. Hopefully this will improve as the season goes on.
  6. And that's the problem, switching can work depending on situation but we use it ALL the time. Granted there have been times it has helped us but it is a matter of knowing when to use it, but I guess we can't expect that much thinking from Woodson.
  7. Yeah sometimes I think stats can tell a story, but this doesn't really say much that we already don't know.
  8. I live off on the perimeter and have never had a blackout myself.
  9. Durant Nowitzki Nash Kobe Bynum Josh Smith Bosh JJ Crawford Dwight Showing some love to the hawks that I think deserve it. Dwight is easily the best center but after him, there isn't much in the east.
  10. ...and notice how few replies this thread has gotten. You know we only like to talk about things when they're going bad.
  11. Exactly what I was thinking. Think of how Bibby was looking with the lowly Kings before we traded for him. While he still has his weaknesses, they are more hidden with us because we are a better overall team. Now he has gotten his shot back because of the players around him and he isn't expected to carry the load which helps a lot.
  12. If it's not easy, how come the rest of the league doesn't have the problems we have?
  13. Thank you for pointing this out, I was thinking the same thing. It has been shown that we have players that can step up in JJ's absence. As for Horford, he seems to have it set in his mind what his role is and he never really tries to do too much offensively. Either way, Woodson really has to change the way we approach our offense when JJ is on the bench. It just seems that we rely on iso Joe far too often to the point that our players are lost when he is not in the game. I think when JJ was out last year for a small stretch we were able to better prepare and the players knew for a fact they would have to step up in his absence and not rely on him, which is exactly what Marvin did.
  14. Ok I can see where my post may have been confusing, but what I meant to say was one or two minutes is not going to make a difference for one preseason game. All I'm saying is that Woodson has done what he has said he was going to do this preseason (for once). He hasn't given players a lot of burn until these last 3 preseason games. I think it's best to give Woody the benefit of the doubt until we start seeing this on a regular basis. Believe me, I hate to see JJ get burned out too and I've made my feelings known about that but I think it's way too early to start making a big deal out of it. Either way, so far things are much better with minutes than they were in previous preseasons.
  15. You've gotta be kidding me right? First off as Dolfan said, Woody specifically stated he was going to do this so we shouldn't even bring the coach up because this was expected. Secondly, here are the minutes from other players on good teams last night: -Carmelo, 32 minutes -Chauncey, 34 minutes -Kobe, 30 minutes -Artest, 31 minutes That completely negates your argument, and the one or two extra minutes are not going to make a difference! If Woody starts doing this throughout the season then that is different but it was ONE GAME! Give it a rest.
  16. Are they trying to impress the ladies because a majority of the people looking at NBA player profiles are dudes. Lame. I'd be saying the same thing if the hawks tried it. Not intimidating either.
  17. Actually I do recall a game back in the day where Rodman drained some 3s on us with the Bulls. I get your point though, just sayin.....
  18. It's so funny, we hear things every year during the Hawks offseason/preseason but I never take that much weight in them. I just throw them off as a fluff piece by Sekou and I did the same this offseason.... Now I hate to get too excited because it's only preseason but so far, everything seems to be right on: -Teague CAN definitely contribute this year -Crawford CAN pass (9 assists to 1 TO) -Marvin is looking to score more -Horford is planning to get more shots as well -Josh Smith not shooting 3s (NONE in the preseason) Also Evans has been showing up more than I would have thought. I know it's only preseason, but if we have games like this we can definitely join the elite and I'd be a very happy hawks fan!
  19. Not only do I see flaws in Detroits D, but who is going to distribute the ball on that team? They have a lot of guys that can create and score, but I can't see them sharing the ball effectively.
  20. Wasn't there an article like this before last season? Same old preseason fluff. I don't think Woodson will use Al that much, and I doubt Al will be calling for the ball anymore this season. Especially with the shooters we have.
  21. The more highlights I see of Teague, the more he reminds me of TJ Ford but with a little more size. He has the speed and quickness TJ possesses, and can get to the lane at will. The added size helps him not get taken advantage of on defense, as opposed to TJ. I'd be more than happy with that.
  22. Sweet alleyoop to Josh Smith. Can't wait to see more during the regular season!
  23. This is boring, I wanna see a scrimmage!
  24. That had to be one of the worst lists I've seen....Neither Joe, Peja, or AI are even SFs in the first place.
  25. http://realgm.com/src_wiretap_archives/61752/20090924/murray_signs_$199m_deal_with_charlotte/ Looks like we'll be seeing plenty of Flip now that he's in our division. Hopefully he doesn't come back to bite us in the @ss in some games. Either way I wish him the best and am happy he got the money he wanted.
