  1. That sounds awfully familiar doesn't it? Lol
  2. Bud is stubborn. In other news: Water. Wet.
  3. That's mainly what we need him for anyways (with some rim protection) so... That kind of works out.
  4. Did I move them? Not my intention if it seems so, I don't feel that I did. I meant it all in one. I don't see winning 62 or winning a championship. Mid 50s? I can see that happening. I'm not saying 62 is IMPOSSIBLE, I just feel it's unlikely. The Spurs example still isn't a great comparison. We play a similar way to them as does GSW and Boston. We aren't as talented as SA (mainly because Kawhi) and Pop is still a superior coach by a good margin.. We aren't as talented as GSW. Boston though, I don't buy the whole them having the best shot of beating Cleveland narrative with Horford BS. But I digress. Have we improved as a team? In some ways yes. In some no. But not enough for 62 wins. If I'm wrong, I'll accept it but just don't see it. I also, realize that they still haven't fully gelled. I agree with Spud though. Regular season win total doesn't matter when the playoffs begin. But my outlook is even more bleak there. Set your expectations lower and you won't be disappointed... As easily. My life mantra. Lol
  5. You hold on to two years ago when the Hawks took everyone by surprise with a new game plan. Teams know our style. Team style is great but to say we don't need a legit go to guy is silly, IMO. Sure, we'll make the playoffs but I still don't see a championship level squad right now. Having someone that dominates the boards is a step in the right direction though.
  6. 62 wins though? Yea... I still don't see it without a legit first option on offense. Not as of now anyways.
  7. If we don't make the playoffs, we don't make the playoffs. It wouldn't be the end of the world. That said, it's more likely that we will. Sorry Chuck.
  8. Also not a big fan of signing Dwight but it's done now. If he stays healthy and focused, we could have something.
  9. We didn't do better than Toronto . Just saying ... What would the mistake be? Not resigning Horf and getting pummelled by Lebron? As opposed to resigning (er... overpaying) him and getting pummelled by Lebron. Decisions. We lose either way really.
  10. Yes, but do you think they'd have had that same success withou him?
  11. Averaging less boards than your guards doesn't sound like wanting to win to me. ;) Like it was said a few posts above, I don't mind keeping him but not at the price that he'll likely ask for.
  12. The Spurs were successful as they were not just because of character but because they also had elite HoF talent to build with. Without that level of talent, we aren't going to have that same level of success that they have. The system is helpful and a big part of the pizza. Maybe it's the crust. A nice solid supportive base but the toppings can be the difference between a delicious mouth-gasm, and an over glorified cracker (or bread depending on how thick you like your crust). And yes.. I am hungry. Lol
  13. You're OK with giving him the Max ?
  14. 1. For the cost , he absolutely should go somewhere. Why pay him the max? He's only gotten worse the past 3 seasons. 2. And that means....? 3. They absolutely need to. 4. See #2
  15. This trade better not have been made to "impress" Horford. He sure as hell wasn't trying to impress the Hawks this pass year . Lol We still better not resign him for the Max though. Also, if we're trading the picks, it better be for a move up.
  16. Brown definitely looks like a good prospect. Moving up for him could be worth it. But idk if 12 and 21 (reciprocals. Heh.) would be enough to move up that much more.
  17. Well damn! And here I thought that the Hawks weren't going to do anything at all. Holy. Shat.
  18. First overall is a different situation. My point is that usually means that they (the Hawks ) may up panicking if that promised player is gone. Causing them to draft whomever that will never play or trading for more 2nd Rd picks or something. Lol Fair enough... didn't think of that angle.
  19. You make valid points. All of those could possibly happen if we went back to lottery status but what else can we really do if we aren't really all that close to being a true championship level team? Playoffs are cool. They bring more money to Phillips which is more profit for the owners. Which is what business is about. I get it. But how many more playoff sweeps do we really need to have? I don't know if I'd rather watch. Bad lottery Hawks or playoff demolished Hawks. Either way, we're like every other team in the league and watching someone else win that trophy. More Valid points. Can't argue there.
  20. I kind of don't think that the Hawks want one. It requires far more sacrifices than their willing to make. It's a big risk. Sure it could pay off but there's still the chance that it doesn't. Would the owners be ok with losing that much? That said, I think fans would still come to games to watch that #1 pick. It happened with AD and Wiggins.
  21. Promises are stupid. It lets other teams know your plan and means that they've stopped looking. Putting all their eggs in that one basket.
  22. If you aren't a legit contender, FA fly over and a consistent first/second round disaster, how would that not be middling? Maybe to a lesser amount but still. That's what the Hawks have gotten by playing it safe.
