  1. I mean, dang. Out of this list of 10, you can cross these players out right off the back, due to the Trae Young selection at PG . . or because they're looking to win championships over getting MAX money. 1. Durant 2. Leonard 3. Towns 4. Irving 5. Butler 6. Porzingis 7. Thompson (Klay) 8. Walker 9. Middleton 10. Horford Boy, if this team offers Kris Middleton a 4 yr - 140 mill contract . . . .
  2. The gag is going to be that we're not going to land ANY of these players. What will happen, is that we'll overpay for a guy outside of the top 10, and try to call that a build block. Meanwhile, Dennis will win 6th man of the Year in OKC, with them becoming a serious threat in the West.' One of these kids are going to have to develop . . . rapidly.
  3. Damn. So it's a sub 20 win season, plus no 1st round pick for 3 years, if we do this deal ( and if they gave us a pick )?
  4. You just inadvertently made KB's point with this statement.
  5. First off, great username. But LOL @ this story. So $10,000 just wasn't enough. He had to toss in 2 Hawks tickets ( these days worth about $25 a piece ), to seal the deal for a double murder? Meth is a helluva drug.
  6. Honestly, that website is no more credible than you or I tossing out our "realistic" trades involving Dennis. LOL @ them thinking that teams are going to give up a player AND a 1st round pick, for Dennis.
  7. 25 wins . . . You still have to play defense in the league to win games. As constructed, I don't see how there's any way we're not a bottom 5 team defensively. Baze is our best defender. And no one fears Baze, when he's guarding them.
  8. The old adage that female broadcasters in sports are just "spoon fed" information, is about 20 years out of date. Most of the females you see your your TV screens know what they are talking about. When you listen to someone like Maria Taylor converse about football, you now right off the bat that she isn't just reading off of a teleprompter. Doris Burke is quickly becoming the female version of Hubie Brown, with the basketball knowledge she kicks off the top of her head. As for Rosa, she's a former hooper . . . and she can play defense. now = know
  9. Along with a BBall Breakdown analysis.
  10. This is a very good breakdown on the mechanics of Trae's shot, and how it may translate in the NBA.
  11. I 75% agree with this. As a person that has to drive 4.5 hours to see the Hawks, and tried to make 5 - 10 games a year myself, I'm definitely not interested to see this team lose a game, every time I go to watch them. Last year, I got to 1/2 of a game ( thanks Atlanta United for taking up every single parking space downtown ). I will say that I'm interested to see what the young guys do, so I will attend 1 or 2 games in November. Or if I'm in the ATL area for whatever reason, I may swing by there to check out a game. I've never been the type to go see the Hawks, just because they're playing a much better team. I want to see them win . . period.
  12. Put it like this. The Hawks won 24 games last season. When Dennis Schröder scored 20 or more points in a game, the Hawks were 15 - 17 When Dennis Schröder scored less than 20 points in a game, the Hawks were 6 - 29 Whether people believe or not that Dennis was the best player on the team last season, the facts are that they heavily depended on him as a scorer to win games. When he didn't score, they lost . . . period. When that kid gets traded for scraps, Hawks fans need to mark that day down on their calendar. Because if he goes to even a halfway decent team, they're going to become much better. Meanwhile, we're going to be hoping and praying that Trae Young rapidly develops into a borderline superstar talent, to offset a lot of the press that Dennis will receive while balling with his new team.
  13. 1) Utter nonsense. Have they even watched Lin play since 2013? And I guess they have no respect for the progression that Taurean Prince showed in the 2nd half of last season. And he's definitely not the best PG on the roster, if Dennis is still on the roster. 2) LMAO @ this. They said this after seeing Collins obviously expanding his offensive game out to the 3 point line? The travesty with Collins last year, is that Bud didn't even use his skill set as an interior/midrange scorer. He was simply running pick and roll. And I truly believe that they didn't want Collins to become "too good, too quickly", to keep them alive to get top 5 pick. 3) ??? . . . Collins is a PF that can play center . . . Moose is DEFINITELY a PF because he's not strong at all on the interior . . . Spellman is a PF . . . Dedmon is a C that can play PF . . . Plumlee is the only traditional C on the roster. 4) LOL . . can Dorsey shoot? He's a fringe NBA player at best, but I wouldn't say that he isn't a NBA caliber talent. 5) Whoa . . . LMAO . . OK by what standard? Where they simply trolling when they said this? Did they use the Pero Antic scale of "playing OK", when evaluating Landale 6) Omari Spellman definitely showed flashes of being a good defender from what I saw, especially as a help defender. 7) This might be true, but if you're trying to trade him, why would you cut his minutes? You'd want to showcase him as much as possible, to drive his value up. I need to listen to this.
  14. And people need to stop acting like Dennis isn't approaching borderline All-Star level. As good as some of those past players were, NONE of them can say that they had a game like this
  15. Salary cap floor is 91.7 million for next season. A salary they'll have to pay out, no matter what. Hawks are currently at 89.7 million. The non-guaranteed contracts of Cleveland and Morris add another 2.74 million to the payroll, bringing the Hawks just above the salary cap floor. Had they stayed significantly under the salary cap floor, they would've had to pay out millions to the players at the end of the season, to make up the difference. So when I say operating on the cheap, I mean doing the bare minimum of what they're required to do. Splurging on Lin really doesn't matter, because they'd have to pay that money out anyway. And when they deal Dennis, they probably won't take back a player, but they'll take that cash. The summer of 2019 will show what they're really about. They'll be significantly under the cap, if they deal Dennis for picks and cash. If they can't get a significant free agent, they'll play the minimum route once again.
  16. It's chapter and verse of what KB has been saying all summer. And part of the narrative I've been talking about, is how the Hawks want to operate as cheap as possible. When Dennis is traded, look for it to be a multiple team trade in which the main thing we get back are 2nd round picks and cash .... not a player.
  17. Childress most memorable Atlanta highlight
  18. Current Metro Atlanta population: 5.8 million 6% of 5.8 million = 348,000 If the Hawks can capture just 0.1% of that 348,000, that's 3,480 Asian people that will potentially come and see Jeremy Lin on any given night. A lot of those Asians are from India though. Even if they can capture 1,000 Asians a night, that's pretty significant for an arena that will hold 17,500 after renovations are done.
  19. I've completely soured on Bembry, but I want to see what Huerter brings to the table first. If he's anywhere near a 35% shooter from 3 on the NBA level, he'll take all of Bembry's minutes, and may approach 20 minutes per game. That's probably the most ideal situation for us.
  20. When you're a bottom feeding team, ownership will look toward anything to gain a marketing advantage to bring in more of the casual fan. It's the regular NBA fans that will ( and have ) stopped going to games. The hardcore fans will go regardless of the product. But the casual fan will pick and choose what nights they'll go see the Hawks. It's pretty much a fact that wherever Jeremy has gone, Asian fans ARE interested in seeing him play. And honestly, that's natural. I saw the effect that P.K. Subban had with the Nashville Predators, not only from an in-game aspect, but from a fan interest aspect as well. When Black people in the Nashville area saw that one of the best players on the team was a Black man from Canada, it did pique interest in the Predators. And when they made their run last year to the Stanley Cup Finals, Black people all of a sudden became hockey fans, with P.K. being one of the players that they watched. If the Hawks are going to be bad this season, we'll not only get to see a lot of Trae in garbage time, but possibly a lot of Lin as well. Lin's numbers are more than decent though. He's not worth 13 mill a year, but he's solid enough to be a very good backup PG, and possibly a starter if need be. As AHF pointed out though, when you've been hurt for basically 2 years straight, that's a player that you really can't count on health wise.
  21. PG: Dennis ( 29 ) - Trae ( 19 ) G: Baze ( 28 ) - Dorsey ( 14 ) - Bembry ( 10 ) SF: Prince ( 34 ) - Huerter ( 14 ) DNP: Lin, Cleveland, Morris
  22. I'm almost done reading the entire thread. And I agree with you. Give me NBA Conspiracy Theories #4 for $200, Alex. Alex: With the Asian population in metro Atlanta currently above 6%, Hawks ownership is betting that his arrival in Atlanta may cause some people to lose their sanity. Me: Who is Jeremy Lin? Alex: Correct Me: Idiotic GMs for $800 . . .
