    Don't think the start was an aberration but woof. Regardless of the way Tuesday goes, they need Hunter when they go back home. This is clearly a good team, but this is the youthful exuberance crap that I was worried about.

    Yeah, this team is not up because of defense right now. They're going to need to likely close with Young/Huerter/Bogdanovic. That kind of sucks for the defense, but you don't have much of a choice here...

    Yeah, I can be Ms. Debbie but I was envisioning a competitive series and now I don't know. Maybe you still end up seeing what happened in 2008 against Doc with another young Hawks team (although I believe this team is better) to an extent.

    I hate it for Hunter. Sucks that the knee is obviously still not right.

    My guess is that Embiid is going to play and he will be effective to be honest. Which, if that's the case, changes a lot unless the Hawks make their 3's/don't play with youthful exuberance. But that can be my Ms. Debbie Downer.

    I'm going to be very disappointed if the Nets win the NBA Finals this year because of them being a super friends team. Heck...a Nets-Clippers final won't be fun either. But we know good and well that the Clippers likely choke in the 2nd round, if they make it (likely will honestly because it is #JustClipsThangs for all of the series they play to go long). Man...I was kind of excited for tonight's game too.

    Since I see some 2018 draft talk above, the Kings were definitely the biggest losers of that draft. They could've had two guys who have been stars but instead they picked Marvin Bagley III. Luka goes #1 in a 2018 redraft but I'm quite happy with Trae.

    Embiid's availability and effectiveness is the biggest question mark here. Because imma be honest, I was figuring that the Hawks depth at C was going to be exposed here. But if he's not available or if he's hobbled, that changes the equation a lot. Regardless of how these upcoming playoff games go, I'm happy about the way the season ended up. Team was 14-20 under Pierce, he gets let go, they go 27-11 and win a playoff series over the next 3 plus months. That is a really good outcome all in all. I do find it interesting that another young Hawks team is facing off vs Doc in the playoffs.

    I know the Knicks aren't a great offense, but it's still unbelievable how well the Hawks have played on defense today.

    The biggest problem of that half is the Knicks are making their threes while the Hawks aren't. If that continues and Trae doesn't have a better second half, I think you're going to see a game 6.

    The MLB playoffs last year were in a bubble format a lot like the NBA, so home field was meaningless here. They allowed fans back in for the championship series despite it being a bubble format, but if I remember correctly, it was fairly Braves slanted. Really, what meant everything was the pitching depth but still, if you go up 3-1, and get a "game of his life performance" from Wilson, and do well vs Kershaw in the same game, who has completely and thoroughly kicked your butts over the years, why do you end up fumbling the ball in the end on closing things out? Anyway, I really want to close this out in 5, but I'll only get REALLY concerned if they can't by game 6, especially since the Hawks have now won...21 of their last 23 at home?

    Young sometimes just can't shoot. That was a wide open three that he missed there. Lucky that it wasn't back to 7 pretty fast.

    Better start to the second half, need to keep it going.

    Honestly? Giving Trae space to shoot has been working today. Hawks lead but things seem erratic today and if this series goes the way it's been going, it probably won't be a lead at the end of the 3rd. It might end up not working in the end, but it's been working.

    The Clippers are doing #JustClipsThangs so far and I'll have a closer focus on that tonight (although I'll probably play a little COD: Mobile at the same time). DeAndre Hunter's had a solid series I feel.
