  1. Trae Young is pretty close to a 28/10 season and after that lousy game vs Chicago, has basically averaged 30/11 since the break. Pretty ridiculous stuff.
  2. Just happened to check in on Nets vs Knicks and another horrible 4th by the Knicks. Yikes. On another note, Trae is pretty ridiculous.
  3. Some ugly plays during the 4th, but the past few plays have been clutch.
  4. The dunks that Jalen made were nice but man...how many of them did he miss?
  5. Man, he had me wondering when he missed most of those early shots. Nice showing to get a 22.
  6. I watched parts of the last game, but I refuse to watch this game. Ridiculous that the Hawks will only have 3 rotational players. The good is from what I saw last time, Cam really caught my eye. Would be big if he can start bringing that consistently. Huge.
  7. That was bad basketball in the 4th quarter...which I partially witnessed (as I wasn't fully into it but had it on).
  8. Fire Bally Sports into the sun. Switched to ESPN. I'll watch for a half hour or so and decide if whether it'll be this or the Pac 12 Championship Game.
  9. Was so tired that I forgot about this game, and in fact...I haven't had the game on for a few games. Maybe I have to stay away until a loss happens.
  10. Calling it now... Last year's team was a 2013 Braves fluke that won't be repeated. This team will be dismantled very soon and it'll be the next iteration down the road that actually is able to pull something off. The good is that they will be known as the team that busted the door open for the Braves and maybe Georgia football as well, because they should not have won that game 7 vs Philly.
  11. It certainly didn't happen the way that I thought it would. In fairness, this Braves team was better than their record. Injuries and what still feels like a massive swing the other way for a lot of the year in ability to perform in close and late situations by the Braves compared to what's been seen from them in 2018-2020 skewed things (Braves went from being tough in close and late to not being able to perform for a lot of the season). But then the pendulum swung back and that is something that we're not used to seeing. If you played the year out with an average amount of luck, the Braves probably win 94-95 games. But maybe it was for the better that it didn't happen in real life. Braves had to go into the playoffs playing hard for a change, and that paid off (similar to the Nationals in 2019). From what I've heard, this was the kind of team that would knock out those Braves teams during the division streak era (of which I have no recollection as I was mostly too young).
  12. Needed to win this one given that they don't play Utah well. Ugh. It was a good game to watch until that Durant flurry/Cam meltdown. "who cares, really" is a good way of describing things considering last night. Only thing is, I had a headache for most of yesterday. I feel better today.
  13. I'm watching football and baseball tonight (that was my plan regardless but I decided to sneak a peak on social media anyway in my odd way of doing so) but there was a good reason why I compared this year to what Miami had dealt with last year. You're not going to be sneaking up on anybody...and you'll have angry teams wanting revenge. You gotta learn to deal with that, which is going to make it a grind. I did ultimately feel positive about the resolution though, but not in a total homerific way. But the way this has gone so far, I definitely would be concerned about not winning a game in that coming stretch and that would put you in a gigantic hole, and maybe it would be different. Now can that weird dance that's been going on with the Braves and Hawks this year at times hold up and the Braves stop looking completely lifeless on offense?
  14. Maybe that weird dance will work even though it usually involves both teams playing on the same day.
  15. These are good points and why I don't think it's a huge problem if Cam remains on the bench this season. His minutes should be increased to 30 or more when he really has it cooking though. There's no problem with him being in a young Harden like role, and then becoming a starter at some point later this year or sometime soon...for the Hawks. On another note, if Trae is just not going to have "anything" called for him, that will be a huge issue.
  16. Maybe the Hawks lose, Braves win deal that went on for most of spring/summer truly is still on here.
  17. That was a much needed run to end the 3rd, now finish.
  18. I'll throw some commentary in... I'm excited for this team, but I think I'd be careful to drive slow. I think it's not outside the realm of possibility that you're not just going to have to deal with refs going overboard on their treatment of Trae, but also a little bit of what Miami dealt with last year, with teams no longer overlooking you because of what you did back in the summer. Even considering that though, if I had to give something close to a prediction, I'd say 48-52 wins looks reasonable. I will be ready to be in full gear by December lol. I'm still focusing on other sports and I can't say I'm that upset that yesterday's game turned out to be a sacrifice (what was working there in the summer is still working lulz, when the Hawks lost the Braves would win if both played on the same day most of the time and vice versa). 2nd game out of 82...
  19. I'd stand my ground on 5/125. Wouldn't go further. It's an overpay but given the Hawks' cap situation, better that than him walk, really hope that you don't see somebody come to the table with a max offer.
  20. If his contract is 5/120-124, that's expensive but ultimately it's better than him walking for nothing.
  21. So, those rumors were true after all. I doubt he gets traded. It just wouldn't be worth it.
  22. Delon is a solid pickup for backup PG, all that's needed now besides resigning Collins (and I guess bringing back Hill to be the grizzled vet) is a C and I'm happy.
