  1. Go after Howard in the offseason. Period
  2. The only way I would take Hedo's deal is if we were getting Dwight.
  3. This was simply a trade to get Rondo and clear our cap. I would not do this trade if we are trying to win this season. Taking JJ's contract is worth a bundle to me. Our team is not a contender.
  4. Rondo/Allen/Bass/JO for JJ/Smith/Teague
  5. I just don't understand why we would trade for a player on the wrong side of 30. Do we think that we are ready for a title run with Gasol/JJ? Funny. And we trade our $8M expiring? I would make them take Marvin or no deal. We are about to get fleeced. I would much rather Gasol go to a third team that really wants him. Would Utah take Gasol? Would love to grab Milsap/Favors.
  6. Marvin for Sessions straight up is a no-brainer for us. Cleveland can easily absorb the difference in contracts. Sessions' deal is between $4-5 million and is a year shorter than Marvin's. Sessions would be easier to move again later on. As far as Josh Smith being added? We would have to get a top 5 pick and have a particular player that we are targeting. I do not know the incoming class well enough to know of a player of Smith's caliber. It seems like the drafts are getting weaker and weaker.
  7. This move rids us of our 'contracts' and gives Chicago their 'robin'. Atlanta trades: Joe Johnson and Marvin Williams Atlanta receives: Richard Hamilton, Ronnie Brewer, Will Bynum, and Omer Asik Chicago trades: Carlos Boozer, Ronnie Brewer, and Omer Asik Chicago receives: Joe Johnson and Charlie Villanueva Detroit trades: Richard Hamilton, Charlie Villanueva, and Will Bynum Detroit receives: Carlos Boozer and Marvin Williams My one hesitation here is how valuable Asik is to Chicago. They may value him too much to be apart of this deal. I would look to move Smith/Zaza in a deal following this one. Maybe Smith for Iggy? Teague/Bynum Hamilton/Hinrich Iguodala/Brewer Horford/Benson Asik/Zaza Young core of Teague/Iggy/Brewer/Horford/Benson/Asik and a lot of financial flexibility within the following year or two. Chicago has: Rose/Watson Johnson/Korver Deng Gibson/Charlie V Noah Detroit has: Stuckey/Gordon Knight/Gordon Daye/Williams Boozer/Maxiell Monroe/Wallace The biggest stretch may be in fact Chicago taking on Charlie V since they are a defensive-oriented club. Maybe take Marvin/Charlie V out of the deal.
  8. Would be blown away if we were able to get Jamison in a deal involving Marvin.
  9. This coming season, the Hawks MUST identify the team that is vulnerable and looking to make a big deal. Hawks cannot let Hinrich expire unless they have plans to use that money. Maybe Hinrich's expiring and Josh Smith could net us a really nice asset. I really hope Chris Paul or Dwight Howard do not give their teams the warm and fuzzies in the next few months.
  10. Josh Smith Rumor Shot Down?
  11. Surprised no one is talking about the rumors over on RealGM about Smith being traded to Orlando in a 3-team deal. Looks like it has been shot down as bogus but still.... something to talk about.
  12. If we are trading Smith because of JJ's contract, we are in worse shape than I thought.
  13. I really prefer to keep Hinrich because, one, he can shoot the three and, two, we gave up an awful lot for him. Having said that, this is a deal that I would love to do. Antawn Jamison would be a great player to come off the bench or even start at PF if we are able to package some players to get an All-Star. Teague/Sessions Johnson/Sy ???? Smith/Jamison Horford/Zaza
  14. I would be ecstatic to get Jamison in a deal involving Marvin. My question is, how is Crawford involved when he is a free agent?
  15. As incredible as it would be, I do not see Orlando trading Dwight to us. Here's a trade that works salary-wise: To Atlanta: Andre Iguodala - Andres Nocioni - Louis Williams To GS: Joe Johnson - Zaza Pachulia To Philly: Monta Ellis - Marvin Williams - Andris Biedrins Atlanta would need to follow this up with another considerable deal but we would be sitting at: Teague/Williams Hinrich/Sy Iguodala/Nocioni Smith Horford Next on my agenda would be a big trade involving Smith or Horford for a Center or All-Star caliber PG.
  16. This is more challenging than I thought it would be. Gasol may be a no-go.
  17. First move: Joe Johnson and Marvin Williams to the Lakers for Pau Gasol and Shannon Brown (once he is cleared to be traded). This move works according to the Trade Checker. Gasol is one year older than Joe but has 2 less years on his monstrous deal. This gives the Lakers a Robin for Kobe. Fisher Kobe Johnson/Marvin Odom Bynum So now, we have Smith, Horford, and Pau. What do we do? To come...
  18. Horford/Marvin to Milwaukee for Bogut/Ilysova/Gooden Smith/Teague for Paul Paul/Joe/Illysova/Gooden/Bogut with Hinrich/Zaza/Wilkins off the bench
  19. Would prefer to include Smith. Smith/Marvin/Zaza for Bogut/Gooden/filler? Then...sell out for either Howard or Paul? Twin towers?
  20. Would do this yesterday but there is no way OKC would.
  21. That would be wonderful. It would have to be a 3-way deal, though, with a team that would want some assortment of Odom, Artest, Blake or Walton. It would be nice to grab Shannon Brown for our bench.
  22. Joe Johnson / Marvin Williams for Jamison / Gibson / #4
  23. Josh Smith / Marvin Williams / Zaza Pachulia for Andrew Bogut / Corey Maggette / Keyon Dooling Wow, wouldn't that be nice. Teague / Hinrich Johnson / Dooling MLE / Maggette Horford / Powell Bogut / ??? Or we could go small with Teague / Hinrich / Johnson / Horford / Bogut Following that trade, I would strongly look to move Johnson. Teague/Johnson for Paul :) Johnson/Teague/Hinrich for Paul/Ariza/Jack works salary wise. Paul / Jack MLE Ariza / Maggette Horford Bogut Paul - Horford - Bogut is a very nice core. Ariza can shoot the 3-ball. New Orleans would have: Teague Hinrich Johnson West Okafor
