  1. Not unrealistic completely but is KMart worth that money? Would we be better off not loading ourselves with contracts for players that aren't going to take us anywhere but maybe the first round of the playoffs? (KMart, Marvin, Bibby, Zaza, Smith) Has anyone watched Martin play much? Does he score within the rhythm of the game? Does he force the issue? Joe Johnson - Mo Evans for Kevin Martin - Shane Battier sounds pretty darn good after thinking about it. That would make losing Childress for nothing not hurt as bad either. Next, move Bibby and Marvin.
  2. IF New Orleans considered dealing Chris Paul, I think the basis of Josh Smith/Jamal Crawford would at least have them consider us. The Devin Harris/#3 package would be hard to compete with, however, with our package we would be able to take Okafor off their hands, too. If NJ took on Paul/Okafor, I'm not sure they would have the money to go after a max free agent. Smith/Crawford/Zaza for Paul/Okafor would be a pretty sweet deal for us. Not likely unfortunately...
  3. Trying to be nice here but that is pretty terrible. It isn't even a sure thing that Conley will be much better than Teague when all is said and done. So far Thabeet is a Thabust. If we are moving Josh Smith it is either as part of a package for a big name player OR in a package for a high lottery pick.
  4. Could we have not beaten this offer? Would you agree Marvin is more valuable than Nocioni considering age? Marvin/Zaza for Dalembert?
  5. If SAC doesn't feel Cousins will reach his potential I think this is a great trade for SAC. Getting out of Nocioni's deal and picking up a veteran in Prince. I'd be curious if Sund has received any of interest phone calls. Who does Larry Drew want to stay? Or go?
  6. Although it was his highlights, Terrico White has a buttery jumper and can finish after contact. I didn't get the chance to see much of his ball-handling, passing or defense, however.
  7. I would be very pleased to see Childress signed at the MLE. It would be nice to find a way to move Marvin in a deal bringing back guard depth, big depth or a draft pick.
  8. He probably does but I like the fact that Jack could start for a while until Teague proves himself then he could be a top backup PG. This also gets us out of Marvin's long term contract and opens up a spot for Childress. If we do resign Joe Johnson: Teague/Jack Johnson/Crawford/Vujacic Childress/#24 Smith/REvans Horford/Pachulia Crawford/Vujacic/Evans represent $20 million in expiring deals. The problem here is that our payroll would be higher than the ASG would like for this one year.
  9. After Toronto moves Turkoglu: Marvin/Evans for Jack/REvans Follow that up with: Bibby to LAL for Vujacic Jack/Teague Crawford/Vujacic Childress Smith/Evans Horford/Zaza +#24 and whatever JJ brings in a sign-and-trade. That team is very flexible financially moving forward. If we could get a young SG like Courtney Lee or James Harden for JJ, that'd be a good start.
  10. I wouldn't take Collison for free if we had to take on Okafor's contract. I'd rather take on Elton Brand's contract if it got us the #2.

    Nocioni and Hedo

    Marvin/Bibby/Evans for Hedo/Jack/R.Evans Jack/Teague JJ/Crawford Hedo/#24 Smith/Evans Horford/Zaza
  12. As a big time GT fan, I would do this trade and run yesterday. The only thing that I question about Favors is his heart ONLY because he doesn't show emotions like Josh does. He is even keel but you can tell he is physically aggressive. He is either still 18 or recently turned 19. He is already a legitimate 6'9" and half and weighs a solid 240 with a very nice wingspan. My absolutely favorite thing about Favors is that he plays within his abilities. He came to GT as a freshman and rarely looked for his shot although he was clearly the most talented player on the team. His rebounding and hands are fabulous and showed promise to have a nice jump hook around the rim. He has a decent free throw form and I see him being a better FT shooter than Josh. There were plenty of times during last season that Favors could have let his emotions get the best of him (bad foul calls or lack thereof) and he never once slipped. I would be absolutely delighted to go forward with Favors/Horford as our front. Childress/Favors/Horford would be the highest overall basketball IQ we have had in a long while up front. Someone get Rick Sund on this ASAP! I have been calling for this trade since the lottery was decided.
  13. Anyone agree that he'd be a major improvement over Rick Sund? Considering Sund won't be around much longer (retirement), it'd be nice to see us be proactive and make a run at Pritchard to be his replacement. I appreciate Pritchard's activity around draft night. He is involved in everything it seems. His one mistake, a huge one at that, was selecting Oden over Durant but many, many other GM's would have done the same thing. Getting Roy and Aldridge out of that draft was borderline amazing considering they were the 2 best players that were taken in that lottery.
  14. I would do this without Holiday. I don't think they would include him. Difference is, I would stay put and take Evan Turner; unless Derrick Favors blew it up in workouts then I would stay put and take him.
  15. I don't give up future 1sts unless you are getting a significant future piece. Al Jefferson is not a player that a good team builds around. How would he co-exist with Josh and Horf? He's a Center that doesn't play great defense and costs over $12 million for a few more years. If Jefferson is a player we ant, Smith or Horford are gone. No future 1sts needed in that deal. I doubt Jefferson how as much value as the media seems to lead on. I don't think it would take much more to get Brand/#2. I'd rather have Brand + Turner then Jefferson / Sessions.
  16. Joe Johnson.... then trade him for the best package of talent, draft picks and financial flexibility.
  17. Marvin/Zaza for Portland for Rudy/Webster/Pryz I'd consider throwing in the #24 if necessary. Webster gives us a 3-point sniper and Rudy gets a fresh start. Pryz is injured but could help out down the stretch. He'll be a free agent next season as well.
  18. I'd be ecstatic if Collins falls to us in the 2nd.
  19. I do this easily. Realgm says the trade doesn't work but maybe after June it will work. Jack is probably the most useful player in that deal, IMO, and Turk has shown that he can make a difference in some way. Bibby and Marvin don't do much of anything for me.
  20. If this really is a trade that we seek out then I don't believe the #24 pick is necessary. I wouldn't be upset if a trade like this happened, although I don't think it makes us much better. It's hard to value an offensive player in Nellie's system. Monta shoots a pretty horrid %.
  21. Would love this deal. Then draft foreign prospect with #53
  22. I'm sick of the word potential from players we have been watching for 5-6 years now. His handles and jumpshot aren't going to improve dramatically. That's what it would take for him to be any different then he is now. Derrick has more potential to adequately guard both the PF/C spots and Cousins has the size of a legitimate center. Horford is a little more reliable and obviously more of a leader in my eyes.
  23. Although tempting, you have to decline. Smith is the player that needs to be used in order to acquire Favors or Cousins.
  24. I do the first deal and would not think twice about it but I don't think JJ goes to OKC nor do I think OKC would sign off on it. The second deal is fantasy land. I'd love to acquire Turner but I hate to say that I think Philly is staying put. I would, however, use Josh Smith in a deal to acquire the 3rd pick to nab Derrick Favors. Smith/#24 for #3/Humph/Dooling. I don't even think Favors is 19, yet. He is already a legit 6'10 and 240 and is definitely not a finesse player. He's a good rebounder, shotblocker and has a soft touch around the basket that he didn't really get to show at GT. Move forward with Teague/Harden/Childress (or Marvin if we can't move him)/Favors/Horford + OKC 1st and a future of financial flexibility
  25. So...let's start the bidding for Josh Smith... Do I hear a top 5 pick and friendly contracts?
