  1. I'd consider Marvin for Ellis in a Sign-and-trade. Have a 3 guard rotation of Ellis/Law/JJ. Move Bibby to the west for some expiring vet bigs and maybe a shooter or draftpick.
  2. I'm down for letting Morris AND Kwame prove themselves as guys at the end of the bench. I wouldn't give more than 1.5-2M for Kwame and probably not that much for Morris. I'm always down to consider Marvin trades. Do we have to trade him? No. But it is something we should consider NOW if we aren't planning on giving him a big contract (which we shouldn't). Who needs a young SF with assets to move?
  3. No because Speedy could retire.
  4. Bibby/Marvin for BDiddy/Azubuike? I doubt GS goes for that, though, since they just drafted Randolph as likely the SF of the future and they already have Wright/Biedrins up front. I'd exchange Childress for Marvin since he is a SG/SF but GS might not see that as as much value.
  5. How can we make room to sign him before offering Smith? Trade Marvin to Memphis for picks? They don't need him with Rudy Gay. We couldn't have both he and Bibby on the payroll but there is no team with enough space for Bibby.
  6. Wouldn't mind seeing him in a Hawks uniform either. How can we make it happen with being an unrestricted FA. Can he still be signed-and-traded?
  7. If someone wouldn't do Smith for Biedrins there is no reason for them to change their mind by adding Pietrus. He is just a role player. I decline this deal everyday of the week. Josh Smith has earned enough respect around the league to bring us a big time player if we decide to go in a different direction. I'd expect a player AT LEAST on the level of Elton Brand in return.
  8. I thought you couldn't talk til July 1st even with your own players?
  9. I'd rather save the $10-12 million per than give it to Dally. We'd be helping Philly out by taking his contract. If we plan on a Sign-and-trade with Philly (since they have $10+M in space anyways) we could just get some of their young guys like Thaddeus and Louis + save all that money. I still don't see us trading Smith for anything less than a young All-star quality player.
  10. I'd only consider trading Josh Smith for a top NBA talent like Amare Stoudamire. We aren't rebuilding. I'll take draftpicks on top of a player but not in exchange for. If we trade Josh Smith the fans will expect to get something LARGE in return.
  11. I think Childress would be a bargain in the $5.5 million range.
  12. Being the #4 pick in his draft he probably had a rather large qualifying offer so it doesn't surprise me that they didn't offer it. They aren't about to pay 5, 6, 7 million for a player that might not even play. Whereas I think 1 or 2 million MIGHT be worth seeing if he gets it back. I'd have to hear more about his rehab before I offer it.
  13. Anyone heard about where he is in his rehab? He's a talent I'd be willing to give the veteran minimum to just to see if he still has it. The guy can handle as well as any 6'7 guy in the league and has as good a vision as anyone in the league.
  14. No. Believe it or not I actually think Vince is a worse defender than Marvin b/c I think Marvin actually tries. Vince is a volume shooter, also. I'd rather try and get a better all around talent like a Tayshaun Prince or a Gerald Wallace if we are looking to add a starting SF. Another reason, no, is b/c Vince has 4 more years left on his deal making in the $15M range. I think if we get to a point where we are motivated to move Marvin that we can get a more cap friendly, all around player than Vince.
  15. I don't think this is a terrible deal (like the Washington one) based on physical talent. I add a lot of value to the fact that Horford is going to be our team leader before we know it. Bynum knows zero about leading. Horford MIGHT only be about a year older than Bynum and he is already averaging a double-double in the flow of the game. Assuming Josh Smith continues to mature both physically and emotionally, I'm pretty satisfied with the Joe/Smith/Horford core and see what we can get for Bibby/Marvin as a 4th cog.
  16. Well Haywood wouldn't start unless you bench Smith or Horford b/c neither of them is a SF. Stevenson can't play PG so unless he is starting in front of Joe he wouldn't start either. He is too small to play SF. If we went small I could see Joe at SF and Deshawn at SG but not as a regular starting lineup. I'd rather use Marvin in a bigger deal for an upgrade at PG or SF.
  17. No. If I'm moving Marvin it is in a bigger package for a better 'now player'. Stevenson/Haywood wouldn't even start for us. Whoever we get back in a Marvin deal better be a starter.
  18. I hope we can actually fill the roster with rookies rather than players that have been in the Summer Leagues 2-3 years.
  19. I'm a GT fan and although I appreciate Morrow and his shooting/attitude, he is not an NBA caliber player. He's not too athletic for a guard. His ballhandling is average at best.
  20. The trade is a no-brainer. I don't think Charlotte does it, though. Larry Brown Michael Jordan Raymond Felton Sean May Marvin Williams That's some serious UNCness there.
  21. Zaza and Chillz for Felton makes Charlotte a better team, IMO, and I don't want to make them a better team.
  22. No doubt we won the trade. The question was always whether we should have traded at all.
  23. Gerald Wallace is officially on the block according to hoopsworld.com. Is he too redundant to Josh Smith (except for better shooting) or is he a player you guys would like to see us go after. I say make a run at him. Maybe with a franchise full of UNC people, we could get him for Marvin/Speedy. Wallace is currently BYC so I'm not sure when that comes off. It certainly makes a trade more difficult. What I do like about Gerald is that from what I can remember, he is more capable of staying in front of 3's than Smith and has a better jumpshot. Our defense would be pretty darn good with Wallace/Smith/Horford.

    Who's left?

For you college basketball fans out there. Who's left? I was hoping Sean Singletary fell out. He deserved to get drafted.
