  1. CDR would be awesome as well.
  2. Getting a pick right now will only cost $$$, no basketball assets. Until we are the Spurs we don't have enough talent to stop acquiring young players. Is DeAndre Jordan a better prospect than Jeremy Richardson or Solomon Jones? YES.
  3. More like Portland takes him. They have a team loaded with big name players. I don't know how I feel about Bayless but if he is a good pick for anyone, he's right for Portland because of Brandon Roy's skill set. Bayless/Sergio/Blake Roy/Webster Outlaw/Arthur Aldridge/Diogu Oden/Pryzbilla That team is f-in LOADED Must be nice being a GM for an owner like Portland's. They are constantly making noise.
  4. I wouldn't be surprised if Seattle would sell their first 2nd rounder for $500K. I imagine one of Chalmers (perimeter defense), CDR (all around game, toughness) or Jordan (big raw prospect) would be there.
  5. If only we had some deep pockets we could fill our summer league team with some good talent. I'd love to stash a guy like DeAndre Jordan on the bench for two years or so. Guys like Mario Chalmers and CDR could help our team.
  6. I bet they would have taken the Marvin/Speedy package after all. Marvin is a better prospect than Yi and Speedy's deal isn't as bad as Simmons'.
  7. Eh you never know but you are probably right. Speedy could retire and even if he didn't they'd save millions off of RJ's deal b/c we know Marvin won't get a deal like that.
  8. Marvin Williams Speedy Claxton Solomon Jones for Richard Jefferson works cap wise.... Gives NJ a lot more cap flexibility in 2 years. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Let Acie Law come off the bench til February when we trade Bibby.
  9. I agree, I want to get something for him now or in February. I would want to sign a lesser known veteran for experience and leadership. We don't need a $15M veteran PG.
  10. It really only matters for a team with cap room. Philly for example could use their money on Josh Smith and once they sign him could resign Iguodala for whatever up to CBA max no matter what their cap figure looked like. Is that correct?
  11. You're crazy if you think they are going to trade Brewer AND #3 for Marvin. If they would do it, I'd parlay the #3/Bibby for a BIG TIME player and keep Brewer to fill in for Childress off the bench if he leaves. That would be an incredible trade that would NEVER happen. I would have done it yesterday.
  12. Sign me up for Finley, Kurt Thomas and Robert Swift but there is no chance we get those guys especially Finley or Kurt. They will only go to obvious contenders.
  13. I like the idea of Richard Jefferson but I'd take out Bibby and the #10. Marvin/Speedy/Solomon for RJ works in the trade checker. New Jersey is rebuilding and I think Marvin would be enticing for them to run with Devin Harris. I hate giving up on Marvin but I feel like he'll command more money next year than I'm willing to give. Especially considering a contract that we give to Smith (which I support) and anything we have to throw at Horford/Joe the following year. We HOPE Marvin one day averages 20+ ppg, can shoot the 3 and play defense. RJ already does all of that. And that is playing next to Vince Carter. This trade gives NJ some financial flexibility I would assume. If Speedy retires, they might save a few million as well. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Whether it is draft night or in February, I want to get some sort of value for Bibby before we lose him for nothing. I'm not a huge fan of his and, although he helped us make the playoffs, I don't see him as that great of a fit.
  14. I said 'hopefully' in that I hope someone else steps up as #2 scorer. If Marvin Williams never becomes at least a #2 scorer then we really did screw up that pick beyond the obvious.
  15. A guy I thought about not too long ago as someone that can do dirty work but might be unimpressive under the draft microscope. He's 6'9 or so but a different kind of 6'9 than the players we currently have. He's not a wing, not a great leaper, he is a paint player.
  16. That's fine. Josh Smith will never have to be 'head-honcho'. Josh Smith will be our #1 defensive player and our 3rd scorer hopefully.
  17. To a lesser extent we frontloaded Speedy, too.

    How about....

I'd like to try and acquire Kelenna Azubuike (sp?). Assuming we resign both Joshes, I wouldn't mind us considering some Marvin Williams moves for bigs.
  19. If Antawn Jamison plays like he did this season I'd be interested in putting him next to Josh Smith as our 3-pt shooting forward. I think Jamison is more a 4 than a wing BUT since he can get hot from outside he might be able to work next to Josh. If Woodson can be confident he could somewhat tame Artest, he is my #1 player that I'd want to trade for that we actually have a chance to get without throwing away a bunch of good pieces.
  20. I like the Bibby/Marvin for all-star / emerging star route.
  21. I can't believe how many of you are for getting a player who we'll have to pay $20+M per and will likely only play 60 games. O'neal isn't the enforcer/leader that we need. Bibby is more of a leader than he is.
  22. I'd rather make a play for Ron Artest, Tayshaun Prince, etc. A player that can play perimeter D, make 3's and has a reasonable contract. I don't think JO would improve our Defense that much at this point.

    Ron Artest

I'm willing to send Bibby off for either a player that would become part of our core or expiring veterans and depth.
