    Gueye has been hurt since October. So looks like we won't see him much for the Hawks until 2026

    What's derailed about it though? Isn't the question whether or not we're getting better whistles because Trae's not on the floor? I'd say i haven't noticed much difference other than the obvious that Trae isn't there.

    So explain why Hunter gets such bad calls. Before this year he almost never complained. He's doing it a little more but still probably the most quiet guy on the floor and still gets horrendous fouls called against him.

    I question the fit. Seems like a pick for potential post-Trae years which i don't like to think about. I do think he's a better fit next to Trae than DJ. He seems to be a stronger one on one defender (limited sample size). Still you hope he's destined to be a starter but i guess being Trae's backup next year isn't a bad thing.

    It's all guesses right now with any player but especially with AJ given how his year has gone. But I"ll guess and say that Quin is very strict and you have to show something in practice to get on the court. I'm guessing that's how Garrison got in to begin with. I can see it. If you are out playing someone in practice but they still get PT over you because they were a high draft pick then that player thinks they don't have to work as hard. So it really isn't about Garrison at all but about molding AJ into the player they want. Remember Bud did this to THjr when we acquired him. That's my guess based on nothing.

    Went to the game. What a game from Kobe. He boxed out Kesseler on one play with ease and even guarded Lauri successfully on a drive. Jazz are really something. No idea what they are doing out there. Not a very good team and i don't know about the coach but there seemed to be no real offensive plan other than chuck some shots. I feel bad for JC really. Yeah he looked bad but whatever offense they are running isn't going to be one you'd want JC in. As far as Trae, it was just about six weeks ago we got blown off the court against Sac and Warriors in games Trae missed so not sure we want to jump to conclusions. I'm blaming OO right now. Got good seats for $16 on tickpick. No fees. It was like being back in the 80s. I thought it would be empty but it was actually a really great crowd.

    This kid is in a tough spot. Good luck to him. At least he has no pressure to earn a bunch of money. I didn't realize he was so short.

    Well that's true but we haven't been that great when other teams stars are playing either.

    I'm skeptical they are coming. Wemby is amazing but kind of a unicorn. Folks thought Mo Bamba and Bol Bol were going to be what Wemby and Chet are. Jokic is the best player in the world. Jokic and Embiid have skill and bulk. Yeah i don't know what the future is for OO though. He is undersized for sure. You see signs though that he can outwork bigger guys for rebounds sometimes. Honestly Bey, Jalen, OO and even DJ crashing the defensive glass has shown how important it is to have strong rebounders rather than just relying on one 7 footer to grab them all. I don't know what my point is exactly.

    I think we'll be ok. We play some lottery teams and frankly we're going to play some teams that choose to rest their stars against us.

    I'm so sick of the Spurs. when's the last time they won anything? Oh i remember, when their MVP level player decided he hated it there and sat out a year, forced a trade, and then immediately won a title. Overrated frigging franchise at this point and the fact they got Wemby just sucks imo. end rant.

    No for me. I'd do DJ for that though. Probably wont' get picks. To me you don't trade a guy like Trae who's an elite talent when he's 25 unless you forced to and i don't think we are there. i hope not

    Seeing a lot of revisionist history on the playoff run. Knicks won ONE game against us. You think Mitchell Robinson is getting them 3 more? And how did Kevin get all those open looks? Did Trae shoot pretty bad for the playoffs? yeah but he basically controlled the offensive end of the floor. I agree though Lou/Gallo were huge for us.

    There's just not much option to tank. We're probably stuck in the 10th slot no matter what and we can't just bench guys who are young themselves in favor of G leaguers. That would destroy morale. Best we can do is find minutes for Kobe and AJ. Might have to shut Capela down at some point.

    He's played noticeable different on the offensive end. He's more aggressive but without the wildness or panic. Honestly he's seemed more focused on D too. I don't think it's just playing against weaker players. If he plays like this he should be the starter for sure. Folks don't want to give Bey credit but he's been playing well for a while too.

    Nets are 6-17 in 2024. I imagine Kevin Ollie has strict orders to 'play the young guys' Not that the rest of them were putting in a ton of effort. i think i saw where the entire Nets team had drawn fewer charges than Trae has this season. don't quote me on that.

    Would love to see AJ getting Hawks minutes before the end of the year. I can't see any reason not to otherwise we'll have no idea what we have for next year. Does the Gleague want guys like Baze for mentorship or is he really trying to get back into the NBA. I guess the latter but it's hard to imagine him getting back on a nba roster. there are too many guys that can do what he does.

    I'm avoiding work. Usually the Trae out/Hawks win brings out some folks. Everyone is giving up on the season. I"m just here for Kobe now.

    stars out for both teams. DJ, Jalen, Bogi are more talented than most of their guys. They have more depth though and play more physical. It's made them a better team than us this season.

    We will be in the play in. No one 11-15 is going to try. We'd have to really make a huge effort to lose enough to fall down to 11. But it's also unlikely we make the playoffs. So we can just compete and let the chips fall. 80% chance we're in the lottery anyway.
