  1. 40 pts in the half. SMH. All these offensive weapons and we can't score to save our lives. Only attempted 1 lob. Trae attempted only 3-4 floaters. What kind of offense is that??
  2. Hawks don't play consistent enough to win this series. If they played their very best for 48 min 4 times they could win. Anything less is a loss. Playing poorly gets them blown out.
  3. Misses 3 at the rim already. Gotta make those. Also gotta make them work a little for their points.
  4. I legit have no idea what to expect tonight. Can see it going a lot of different ways honestly. All I know for sure is I'm freaking out a little inside. Let's go HAWKS!!!!!!
  5. Yeah.....something's gone wacky with the system. I was just notified that I'm a Newbie and earned by 1-year badge even though the same page shows I've been a member since 2016.
  6. Wait wut? Didn't you say just yesterday that anyone thinking we could win a title this year was delusional? If that wasn't you then I apologize, but I thought you said that just yesterday. Also, it's not like basketball is played like football where we can take Cam out on offense and put him in on defense. He has to play both ends of the court. I understand the *potential* he brings on defense, but I'm not sure it offsets the massive liability he would be on offense. I don't want to give Philly any more of an advantage than they already have on that end of the court.
  7. How many wide open shots they gonna miss? Dang.
  8. Gotta figure out how to get stops. Lovin the big lineup. Actually feels like we can matchup size wise.
  9. The truth is the Hawks were only ever a match for Sixers WITH Hunter OR WITHOUT Embiid. As soon as we got WITH Embiid and WITHOUT Hunter it was a wrap. And the players even played like it. Haven't looked confident ever since they announced Hunter was done.
  10. Sorry @Spud2niquenothing about this game has changed my lack of excitement. This sucks.
  11. This is what I've been saying too. Single cover Embiid and do the best you can. But don't ever let the OTHERS get going. Forkmaz, Milton, Curry, Maxey, Hill, and even Harris. Make life hell for those guys. If Embiid goes 30-35 and scores 75 points, so be it.
  12. Trae is a superstar. I'm not questioning that. But he still needs help. He can't outscore the Sixers by himself and he obviously doesn't play much defense. How do we slow them down? Offensively, how do we get JC involved and get the outside shooters going? How do we get production from the 3? I like the suggestions herein to shelve Solo and Tony, but I'm skeptical Nate with consider either. I'm guessing he'll roll out the same unit as in all the other games this series. Maybe he starts Tony instead.
  13. You are right that the series isn't over yet. For me, playing such a poor game at home was just added deflation after the deflating Hunter news. So I've just lost a lot of the excitement around the series. No doubt it would return with a big performance tonight, but the reality is, they have to win again in Philly if they want to advance, and that seems highly unlikely at the moment. Winning cures all though and I'm here til the bitter end. I just lack excitement at the moment.
  14. Well that's a good way to lose by 40. LOL.
  15. The dam broke. The others are getting whatever they want now.
  16. Bout to get run out their own gym. Fun season though.
  17. I'll also say that my philosophy or strategy would be to accept that Embiid is going to get his and try to take away the others. Limit Harris, don't let Kirkman or Milton's Curry get going. That is, imo, the best recipe for success. The Hawks have taken the opposite approach and basically not guarded anyone other than Embiid. But what happens when Embiid plays like the superstar he is and drains shots over the double team? Now you got the others going AND Embiid is scoring. Not good imo.
  18. How many times has Gallo fouled guys on a break instead of playing defense this year? And he chooses THIS game to NOT foul the one guy who's shooting 30% FT and instead gave him a wide open layup? Once again, these guys just make some incredibly dumb plays.
  19. This looks like the Knicks series only in reverse. Philly just playing with the Hawks. Nothing we can do about it either.
  20. I said it last game and I'll say it again....a lot of really dumb play so far. What's the point of taking a quick shot at the end of the quarter if it gives Philly a full 24 seconds? Why the hell do you foul a 3pt shooter? Hiw do you leave Dwight free to collect rebounds and put backs?
  21. Well the alternative is to let him walk for nothing or hope he takes a hometown discount. I don't see the latter happening and I think the former would set the team back too much. Someone's going to offer him more than he's probably worth. Hawks either match or let him walk. I'd match and hope one of 2 things happens. Either 1, JC continues to evolve and becomes a playmaker with a handle that justifies the contract OR 2, they find a trade in the future that makes sense and nets them a reasonable return.
  22. The problem I have with JC is the same as I've always said about him, he requires someone else to feed him for him to have any impact on the game whatsoever. And even then, he just disappears far too often. In the postseason order of business, I would extend Kevin before I even worried about JC. I think Kevin is way more important to the long term health and success of this franchise than JC is. And he's proven that in these first 7 games of the playoffs. The only problem I have with just letting JC walk is they wouldn't have any money to replace him and they still need a 4. JC isn't worthless, he's just not overly impactful, to me. So I guess for me, the proper play is exactly what @thecampster said to do, match whatever the market says and then try to trade him in a year for someone that makes more sense on this roster. I don't hate JC, I just don't think he's impactful at all.
  23. The good news is the Hawks have home court now and they play really really well at home. Also, role players like Milton, Curry, Green, Korkmaz, etc... typically don't play as well on the road. So I still think they have a chance, but they need to continue to shoot well at home and play reasonably good defense.
  24. I'm deflated. Was holding out hope that with a few extra days he'd be ready for Games 3 and 4. I really hope the team isn't deflated from this news. They still have a chance to get past Philly, but dang it's going to be hard. I'd start Tony but give him limited minutes and get Huerter in quickly. Something like this... Trae - 40 min Lou - 10 min Bogie - 40 min Kev - 40 min Tony - 14 min
