  1. Nicely done. in my best Jim Mora voice .. "Nets? You kidding me? Nets? We'll be lucky to hang with the Horcats tomorrow night."
  2. I find it galling when other fanbases would cite poor attendance as evidence Atlanta's not a good sports town. Like I'm supposed to wait in line, spend money, to go sit and boo a poor product? That makes me a good fan? No, that makes me an idiot with disposable income.
  3. And WTF is a "good sports town"? I'm so tired of that tired a**, northeastern-centric concept. Acting like a whole a** does not make you a good sports fan. Cursing, spitting, and being willing to throw stuff at people does not make one a good sports fan. Fighting in the stands because someone has a different jersey than you does not make one a good sports fan. Being willing to do anything for your team does not make one a good sports fan. That's the stuff that goes on at all these supposed good sports towns. Sign me up for none-a that.

    The Play-In

It's as @marco102 illustrated, they do seem to try more stuff than most. But, as you illustrated, it's not necessarily "stopping" us. It's forcing us to go to our plan B which, based on personnel, shouldn't be a terrible thing for us. And I vaguely remembered, as marco points out, Trae was playing hurt in that last game. I think, overall, Borrego's overrating their defensive tactics a bit. He really made it sound like they had 'the blueprint'.
  5. I'm putting together a metric for posters called the 'cageys'. Don't worry, you'll get a high kg score. Some folks here definitely need to worry, but I ain't pointin' no fingers....
  6. Really, y'all? We just gonna let this blatant disrespect of the 'process' go unpunished? OP has jinxed us in more ways than I know how to count. And I went to Georgia Tech!

    The Play-In

Pretty interesting interview of James Borrego this morning. He sounds pretty confident that his team has the 'formula' for stopping Trae. Said they held him to his lowest scoring output of the season in the last matchup vs Atlanta. Said he won't 'give away the plan' or stte but said they'll 'throw bodies' at him, multiple looks. It was a weird combination of proper respect while being a bit smug(ish) as if 'they got this'. Was something going on at that time or are the Horcats really the 'Trae-stoppahs'?
  8. I want the Horcats! Y'all know not to be lookin' ahead. How dare y'all? Has Atlanta sports history taught you nothing?! ETA: Probably the most offensive thread I've seen on here all year. @TheNorthCydeRises you owe us a hundred pushups so get down with your weak, girly arms and squeeze 'em out. We're waiting.
  9. Hey, when I decide to be sorta serious, I'm pretty mean with my words. Wait .. that didn't come out right ... or did it?
  10. Earlier in the show, both hosts were lamenting why the league doesn't use totals to determine scoring and assist titles. Said Trae should be a lock for all-Nba. Didn't know why guys like Ja were getting so much pub.
  11. I finally heard it. Nicely done. That show actually bumped for Trae the whole time. Wondering why folks weren't giving him more love for the points/assist totals. And you get a 6.5 on the sexy voice scale.
  12. I think, to take off my facetious hat for a moment, their w/l record without Ja doesn't indicate they're better without him. However, it does present evidence that their w/l record with him shouldn't be a driving force in his candidacy. Others have pointed out that Trae, for example, has superior numbers. So for folks to throw out 'well they're #2 in the West' as a tie-breaker of sorts .. eh, I can't get with that. That's a solid team whether he plays or not.
  13. Hoooow convenient....
  14. Oh noooo, the replay isn't posted yet. I'll listen once they put it up.
  15. Nope but I'll listen to the replay rn. @Spud2nique I will report back on the sexiness of stu's voice as compared to @NBASupes since he's our barometer.
  16. The only intelligent response I have to this is ... But you're missing the crux of the argument. How can someone miss 1/4 of the season and be all-NBA anything? Look at Kyrie's finish to the season once he had to play every night instead of once every 3rd or 4th game. His production took a precipitous drop because, newsflash, if you get to play fewer games than the comp you're fresher. It's the whole reason for load management. The other side of that though is, if you load manage (or miss too many games, in general), you shouldn't be eligible for awards. They put in minimums for winning scoring titles and whatnot. There should be minimum games played, either explicitly or inherently(?), for all-NBA. Oh and MEM was better without him. Numbers don't lie and their w/l record was what it was. Can't have it both ways. Can't be tellin' me how trash Trae is on D because o' tha numbers but then ignore MEM's w/l record just because tha numbers don't match what you want the opinion to be. The preceding post was about 43% facetious.
  17. How can a guy be all-NBA if his team wins at a far greater clip when he sits? If Trae's team was 20-2 in his absence, we'd be hearing about how empty his stats are. We certainly wouldn't be debating all-NBA status. That's a travesty.
  18. "Nah, everybody had covid ... blah, blah, blah ..." - Guys who ignore the facts, RgMers, and MIA fans (I won't leave you out, @benhillboy) Caption: "Listen stu, we're gonna take that guy to the cleaners .... who'm I talkin' to again?"
  19. stahhp. Not every team had 20+ games effected. The impact was so disparate, in this case, no other team was even remotely equivalent. That's not to say they played well all year, because they didn't. But that covid stretch defined this season's outcome in more ways than ... certain folks want to recognize.

    The Play-In

I hear you and I don't think we're that far off in our opinions. I always struggle to find realistic difference maker additions. If I'm WAS, I'm looking to trade the heyul out of Beal. But I don't actually like him as a player so that doesn't excite me. I could see Derozen or Lavine being available in some capacity - considering how precipitous their slide was, how can they justify running it back next year? PHX could balk at Ayton's price. Simmons could be on the move again. Randle will likely be dealt from NYK (another I don't like). Zion or Mitchell/Gobert (UTA) could force their way out We could use upgrades, just can't think of how we'd do it.
  21. I'm black, but I'll be Crockett and you can be Tubbs. 2022 Miami Vice up in dis bish... I'm rolling up the sleeves of my blazer rn.

Definitely Cavs. And he's not the only one calling us insufferable. Is that the word of the day or something? They're all responding to ol' soth, btw, which is hilarious considering he's obviously trolling them all but they keep falling for it.

    The Play-In

There's literally one team in the east that should scare the Hawks (MIL). Being in the lottery doesn't ensure we'll land a difference maker (via trade of the pick or selection), so what would be the point? These non-top 5 lotto picks don't carry as much value as people seem to think. Every draft some teams goes in with 2+ 1sts and ends up just taking random guys because they can't package them to move up. And can't package them for a difference maker. Chasing these picks is a fool's errand imho (not calling you a 'fool', just using that phrase to illustrate my point). Yes, it works out sometimes. But far more often than not, it just ends up forcing a team to keep chasing more picks.

    The Play-In

Oh, and for some unintentional comedy, check out RgM thread on the play-in. There's a whiny Cavs fan complainin' about how his team has to play and gots soooo many injuries. Well alls I got to say is ... ..... has that guy seen how many games we played with non-NBA players? Has that guy not seen how many man-hours we lost to injury? Has that guy not seen Johnny Collins' finger? Wanna know what kg thinks about the Cavs' injuries ... Do like they told us when we was trottin out a literal Cat Barber as our starting 1 a couple games. Just grit yer teeth and hold on 'til it's done, sir. Hope Moses Brown puts up nimbers like Jarrett Allen. Squint reallllll hard until 'Moses' looks like 'Mobley' are you peer through your tear-filled lids. But miss me with the whining. At least you still got your all-star(sic). And, truth be told, Moses' nimbers are pretty comparable to Mobley's so get over yourself.
