  1. Thybulle to the Blazers Come on FO, get us Ayton or Ben Simmons, do something
  2. East coasters boutta wake up to a bomb in the morning lol, Hopefully Hawks drop the Holiday for Thybulle nuke early as well
  3. Pat's a Laker fan and still manages to cover the Hawks more favorably than guys you'd think would be ATL homers -.- Love that guy
  4. When I like comments now, it refreshes the page instead of liking the comment dynamically, is this a permanent change @capstone21?
  5. What would a successful trade for Bogi look like on the Hawks side? Quality rotation player + 1frp?
  6. I'd hope any potential trade the Hawks engage in would be from a winning standpoint. Would suck to just lose players cause of lux tax concerns rip kevin
  7. They're stuck in a time loop until Simmons reaches enlightenment and is able to play basketball again, though once they get out, universe might be gone x.x
  8. Then Simmons passes it out to Trae for a 35 ft 3pter We only get the best shots with 3 top tier playmakers of course
  9. So I recall in an interview with Landry Fields somewhere that the new FO is looking to fill our team up with players that exemplify Hawks DNA, and recently saw Landry re-tweeting AJ's rising star selection with the #HawksDNA tag. Assume we have 4 guys locked down right now who are our cornerstones and presumably have the DNA Landry is looking to fill the roster out of * Trae - Skilled in terms of scoring and playmaking. Tenacious worker with a chip on his shoulder, nice guy * DJ - Skilled in terms of perimeter defense, playmaking, leadership. Tenacious worker always looking to improve, nice guy * AJ - Skilled in terms of scoring efficiently from all 3 levels, athletic and able to make plays. Clear hard worker, nice guy * Hunter - Skilled in terms of perimeter defense, and shooting. Nice guy always smiling * JJ - Skilled playmaker in transition, nice guy So from my assumptions, Hawks DNA encompasses the following few things: Must be skilled in some way and able to contribute on the floor without relying on athleticism (I don't think we'll be drafting any projects moving forward) Desire to win engulfs their being Nice people who don't cause rifts in the locker room These are my quick thoughts about what HawksDNA can mean, what do yall think?
  10. Dejounte being more mature hasn't translated to him being a better basketball player on the court, and saying a DJ/Hunter/OO/AJ can be a nice core in 3-4 years means how much when Trae Young clears all those players on a talent level, and has already demonstrated he's capable of leading a team deep into the playoffs. Dejounte having a full green light akin to Trae last year was a pretty good example showing the gulf in difference in talent between Trae and Murray. Murray is also 2 years older than Trae and due for a max in a year, so if we're paying 2 PG's max contracts, why would we keep the not as good one? Dejounte cannot be the face of ATL right after Trae gets traded imo, he would have to lead us further than Trae did, while also bringing that x-factor of superstar nights and flashy plays. Idk, i'm rambling here, but I see no universe where trading Trae Young for anyone as being a good move. Getting a Toronto championship relying on trading our homegrown star for a mercenary talent feels icky. It's sports, the fun part for me is succeeding with our own and cheering for em no matter what. Trading our guy for anyone feels like blasphemy, and isn't even guaranteed to bring any more success than we've already achieved with Trae. We'd be sending out our biggest franchise star since Nique for a shot in the chamber gunning for a chip, with a high chance of not having anything to show for it after a couple of years. I say we just ride this ride with Trae and enjoy having a Hawk star who actually wants to be here complete his HoF career with us, not a lot of teams get this opportunity.
  11. How is it set up well for the future when we're one KD injury or trade request away from irrelevance?
  12. Love players who love the game, Bogi definitely shows he's passionate and puts in the work.
  13. Mans an artist with the ball (minus the turnovers and bricks ) If he starts hitting 1-2 more shots and cuts 1-2 turnovers per game, narrative gonna change real quick
  14. AJ is gonna be a great #2 on a championship team, glad we have him He's boutta hit every shot in this rising star game
  15. Cassell, Jax, and Becky are all good a** choices... hopefully we can pull one of em
  16. How are we running out of time when Trae still has 4 more years on his contract, and Trae has affirmed it once already with our ECF run? A more creative coach, a vet who can help glue our team together and help close out games, we are having none of these doubts we're seeing today imo. Even if we had won 3-5 more games this season, I don't think we'd be doomin as much as we are, it's a tight race in the East and even with Trae having his worst season so far, he's still playing at a high level and still we're very much MID with the possibility of rising to top level players. Nate has been coaching how Nate does, we aren't taking efficient shots, and we're still in a decent position for the playoffs. It could be a lot worse, but I think our floor is the play-ins which isn't where you wanna be with all the talent on our team, but it could be worse. I think it only goes up from here, and if being mid is the Hawks floor, I'm excite to see what a good modern coach can do with this team. I admit Trae bricking shots at the end of games has demonstrated him not putting the team on his back to win games, but this is a more recent phenomena, and I just don't think Trae has lost his basketball ability. The shooting will come back and we can ride those floaters and deep 3's to victory once again
  17. If our new FO isn't reactionary, do we expect no changes to happen at the deadline even if we win out until then? I feel like previously trades weren't made since we usually go streaking around this time
  18. Doubling down on the shut up and dribble is actually wild . Dejounte comes across as a guy who wears his emotions on his sleeve and speaks his truth, not sure how you can hate when he isn't saying anything unreasonable for someone in his position.
  19. This the guy who drafted Anthony Bennet first? Not sad about him turning us down
  20. Bro, idk why you keep tryna start a fight with Sothron for no reason, believe him or don't, don't gotta verbalize all your thoughts. Other GM's licking their lips at our rookie FO
  21. Disaster does seem quite likely, but with new blood in the game who seems eager to do whatever necessary to try and win (even if those ideas are outlandish and come from playing a game.... ), this means things will happen quickly. If these things help our team and we start winning games and chemistry gets better, that's great, no one will talk about Nick and we'll be happy to have a winning product. On the other hand, if Nick's move put out a trash product on the court, like Marco said, Atlanta fans are not gonna go to the arena, and Tony's wallet will feel the impact of his nepo decisions, forcing him to make changes to get a good product on the court. So eventually the ship will align If this is a flip situation for the Hawks, then I hope they sell soon enough to someone who cares about the team and not just the amenities of the arena to get people in. Statefarm could be a junkyard and people would go to see us winning night after night, so I'm hoping the Tony wants money Atl fans give money for a winning product If winning product is not there, Atl fans won't give money Tony makes changes to make Atl a winning product to get money In the end, we got nothing but time, and eventually it all gets back to winning since that $$$ is predicated on winning and not simply existing since we're not LA or NYC
  22. So what I'm seeing is: Trae wants to win in Atlanta We want Atlanta to win Nick is a massive Trae Stan Nick also wants to win in Atlanta Moves will be made to make Atlanta win
  23. The nice thing about GM'ing the NBA, is that there's no formal education or required skills needed to succeed. You have to have a good understanding of the game and you'll be judged based on the couple of moves you make each year with trades/drafts/signings. I don't necessarily think more experience guarantees better moves will be made, but I'm only 25 so take that with a grain of salt lol. I understand undermining Travis and pushing a trade without our top 15 GM's blessing was maybe not the best move, but if the logic is having 2 ball handling stars on the team will help push us further in the playoffs since our star can't be double teamed constantly, I can't hate on it. We don't know what else Nick has recommended, but I would DJM trade is overall a positive for us regardless of missing draft picks since proven players > mysterybox of the draft, and we have yet to see what this team can do with a competent coach. The pieces on our team don't matter if coach is gonna run his system without any thought of the personnel on his team, so I'm reserving judgement on all this right now. The John Collins trade, new coach, and next years signings will indicate the true value of our new FO. Nepotism and all the bs is obviously bad, but not really indicative of how well they can put a ball team together. If we won a couple more of the games we thought we would win, the games that came down to the last 3 minutes and were hovering around positive, I don't think there would be so much drama or chatter. Injuries + Nate haven't put our team in a position of success, so hard to judge the FO if we're underperforming due to circumstances out of their control. This sounds like I'm smoking lot of hopium, but I'm a believer in Trae/Landry. Nick sounds like he's just doing what they want, and if Nick isn't pushing his own basketball thoughts and instead deferring to experts, meh. I enjoy stability and experience, but this new ride can also be fun
