  1. Hawks org REEKING of unprofessionalism, nepotism, and lack of directional clarity. What is going on inside that building? Perhaps we're just going through some growing pains, and Trae/Fields/Nick are actually bball geniuses and they'll start making great moves to put us on track.... Not sure how likely that is though Sucks cause I unfortunately can't stop watching this freaking team, so we're strapped into this rocket and hoping we going somewhere fun
  2. Cov + Luke would be good for our team, but I feel like JJ is an x-factor that could really help us if he was utilized a bit better and had more confidence instilled in him. Pains me to see our young talent bloom on other teams x.x Also, JJ's a cheap contract for a couple of years, but then again, Luke isn't too expensive at like 14 million for the next 2 years and fills a big shooting need. Hmmmmmmm
  3. My POV is, any Bogi trade would be a kind of neutral trade and we'd get some chucker/2nd rp back, which is whatever. Trading CC would get a fun Woj bomb and good returns and spark more dopamine and provide hope for our future with whatever new assets we acquire. Getting Levert for Bogi, I'm like meh. Getting *unknown* for CC and rolling those die, I like that idea
  4. Would be fine trading Clint seeing as he probably has the most trade value on our team right now and can never seem to stay healthy. Hedging our defense on 1 injury prone center is not gonna work long term, and if he's currently positive value I'd ship him now. Love CC but being able to stay on the floor is important, especially if you're our starting center with Trae Young as your pg. Idk what return we could get for him, or who would replace him (don't think OO can grab the boards / anchor our defense like Trae needs), but changes need to be made, and I don't think hoping Clint magically becomes reliably healthy is a smart option.
  5. Just feed AJ off the bench and have him be the focal point of the offense. Get those development reps in cause no one else on the bench is doin anything
  6. True, and if Trae is leaving cause we're a dumpster fire, at least that means we get to roll the die at the lottery again
  7. I got faith in Trae the showman going off, can't wait for this 50 pt game and Lakers fans trying to get Trae on their team. Though, Ray did like this tweet about Trae to the Warriors in 5 years and idk how to handle it
  8. I'd also be down to participate it there are spots available
  9. I have to think that we're not going to be making any hasty trades this season knowing our head coach is about to be out sooner than later. Also, we're only in Trae's first year in his 5 year deal, I keep telling myself to have perspective and temper my expectations for this team since its clear though we have a contender level roster worth of players, we desperately lack the offensive system and buy in from everyone to consistently play at a hard enough level required to make a deep run in the playoffs. At most this trade deadline I'd hope to see J Holiday outta here so Nate can stop playing him over the rooks. We have cheap talent that can help us win games + be developed at the same time, and them sitting on the bench so Nate can try to squeeze out wins doesn't really float my boat. Wonder what value J-Holiday + 2nd rp can net, it'll be addition by subtraction but then also addition if we get someone neutral-positive back. Again, want to say sorry to @sturt for saying Justin Holiday and Jae Crowder were similar level impact players
  10. We should just run with 1 - Trae 2 - DJM 3 - Bogi 4 - AJ 5 - JJ We'll have a fun offense, and all the points we'll bleed will help us lose games while also putting up 130 points so at least watching bricks over and over again won't hurt our souls. JC, Hunter, Clint on the bench can play some lower minutes so they can try to avoid being injured rest of the season. I think it would be really hard to lose out to Magic: 13-24 Spurs: 12-25 Hornets: 10-28 Pistons: 10-30 Rockets: 10-27 but we can tank for a top 7 pick and pray we win the lottery. We could let Trae and Murray get their stats and stay "happy", let AJ and JJ get some development, and take the gamble on trying to get Wemby/Scoot. Being a mid team in the NBA is the worst position we could be in, NBA purgatory is not fun, watching .500 basketball is not fun, and getting mid players in the middle of the draft that keep your team mid is not fun. I just wanna have fun with this team again Until Trae gets his ice back and can start hitting shots at the end of games and starts being a true superstar closer, or Nate gets canned and we get an new HC who's offensively creative and can manage a locker room, this team isn't going anywhere. Even when we're healthy, we're not in the upper echelon of teams this season. Nearly 40 games into the season is long enough to begin to call it in, if the team goes on a magic 10 game winstreak and figures things out in Jan before the trade deadline, fine, let's ride this season out on the assumption the team keeps up whatever magic formula they figured out. Big doubt that that happens though, would like to see us having fun in games, losing, and hitting in the lottery.
  11. https://www.reddit.com/r/AtlantaHawks/new/ The Hawks sub is melting down, pretty funny to see, but sad we're in this spot after feeling on top of the world after the ECF run.
  12. It's weird because I don't think we're losing any games due to a lack of talent. Our first 7 of Trae Murray Hunter JC Clint Bogi AJ is super solid imo. Our biggest issue feels like having consistent motivation and not having any offensive sets to fall on. The Trae and Murray PnR to find an open man every play isn't sustainable and easy to gameplan against, so grabbing a coach whose strengths are offensive creativity, ego management, and locker room control is my biggest want. Don't see anything happening at the trade deadline, feel like injuries are saving Nate since there's always another excuse for losing, even though his coaching is plainly hurting the team
  13. JJ would be good for the inbound
  14. Happy Holidays squawkers! You're all quality people having good conversation, and I'm happy to have joined the board. Hope you all make a lot of good memories this holiday season, and minimize the not so good
  15. I'd guess both of those outcomes happen, and when we have a superstar, we gotta listen to him. Playing silly power dynamic games with the only person on the team capable of bringing a parade to atl is the dumbest thing. Trae is the sole reason this team has been at it's peak relevance since Nique, and it's so frustrating Nate McMillan of all people is the center of so much bs around us right now. Maybe we can Phil Jackson in to start managing egos and installing an offense, idk, but change needs to be made from the top, especially considering Trae's sole objective is to win games and win a championship. If Nate was good at his job and Trae had faith in him fulfilling his responsibilites as a championship level HC, there would be no issues. We keep losing in the dumbest ways, and Nate is at the head of the team snake. I'm glad Landry isn't emotionally attached to anyone and I hope change comes quick. Middling around.500 and losing first round of the playoffs or in the play in would be pathetic given our roster, we are a talented @ss team! We need someone who can maximize this roster, and mediocre defensive mind Nate is not the guy to direct this team. Rant over
  16. Spacing would be incredible, and the team would be closer to last year's offensive minded team which was hella fun to watch even when they lost. Watching shots brick hurts my soul more than the happiness I get from watching mediocre defense with the current crew.
  17. Honestly, JC isn't being used to his full potential on our team, and Bogi is a bucket. If we get a legit solid contributer on offense and can rebuild the war chest with Detroit picks, I'd be happy with it. Love JC, but we gotta do what we gotta do
  18. For all the vets who have been with the Hawks for a while now, how uneasy does this decision make you feel compared to how Hawks have been run in the past? Do we still think Hawks can be competitive and compete for a chip, or is this the first sign of our team getting gutted for nothing? I'm expecting some dumb JC trade to go through now at Tony's command
  19. Glad we got a win, hopefully it's the spark we need to keep going. Our next 10 are dead easy teams, we should hopefully go 8-2 at worst.. But speaking of Bogi closing out games, who would be benched for him? I'm thinking probably Hunter? But we just gave him a fat contract, would suck to see him not be there to close out, decisions decisions...
  20. Logical me goes it's a no brainer trading those 3 for Siakam, but my heart says AJ is special and I want him to be the 3rd head of the snake alongside Trae x DJM. If we could do JC + OO for Siakam we'd pull that trigger in a heartbeat, but Siakam is too valuable for Toronto unfortunately. Maybe Scottie breaks out and renders Siakam expendable? Doubt it, but we can hope...

    Trae

Having your coach give you an ultimatum is ridiculous, and it's wild some of you actually think Trae should've still shown up to the arena after that. Incredibly dumb thing to do from Nate considering Trae is always doing his best to be on the court evidenced by his iron man number of games played. If Trae needs to skip shoot around to rehab... then let him!? Giving your star player the option to either come off the bench or not be at the arena at all is petty and silly as hell. Also, Trae isn't wrong about this offense Nate is running, I'm glad he isn't just playing it out being satisfied losing games while running this relic from the 90's. Trae's communication needs to improve, but all the actions and behaviors I've seen out of Trae are from him trying to win basketball games and get us a championship. If he's butting heads with Nate, I'm taking his side over the coach who's already been fired multiple times and hasn't achieved anything without Trae Young on his team, especially when the arguments are over things Nate has been criticized over for many years now. Trae has had a pretty clean record in terms of drama, where all the "players and people on the team and around the league don't like Trae" rumors are just coming from random reporters with nothing to back the rumors up. Dejounte LITERALLY ONLY CAME TO ATLANTA because Trae wanted him here, and Murray wanted to play alongside him. Some of yalls takes about Trae are wild today
  22. "No one" - it only takes one counter to show this is false right? CC is an objectively great fit with Trae
  23. Things I hope to see this game: Trae has an efficient game from the field - tired of hearing the narratives around him rn - J Holiday minutes, this dude is absolutely awful at the game of basketball, and I'm sad we have another TLC doing cardio. + AJ Griffin minutes, Rook is legit and knows how to play. He's smart with the ball, deliberate and confident with his movements, NEEDS TO PLAY MORE no matter what. He's a winning player, and we'll regret not getting him more minutes. JC plays more assertive, he makes too much money to not be an impact player night after night Speaking of money, Hunter needs to also start doing more. Perhaps he'll pass the ball tonight after taking a dribble, we'll see. OO should do his thing and play great defense and hit an open middy or 2 Our Atlanta Hawks DONT get put into a 15 point deficit in the first quarter, and pull out a non stressful win
  24. A bright side about this game, likely the worst we do. Raptors always have our number, and our team is generally good with not turning it over. For now, this shall be my copium. We only going up from here
  25. Trae has a double double to start the 3rd quarter. Lol, this is gonna be a fun year!!!
