  1. Trade his expiring contract for 2nd Round picks and $$$ if you have to. Just get him out of here and try to get at least some value.

    DUNLEAVY

I honestly never thought he was going to put on a Hawks uniform after the trade was announced. Once he did agree to report, I just knew he was going to be shipped out with Splitter or outright traded for a 2nd Rounder. Now, I honestly think this guy could possibly start for this team at some point this season? My mind is blown. Now, my only concern is his health. Can he hold up getting regular minutes in the rotation?

    DUNLEAVY

Dunleavy and a 1st Rounder for Korver may be the steal of the century. I had no idea this guy could play like this. I know it's only been 2 games, but this guy fits this team like a glove. Outside shooting, dribble drives, and decent passing. Who knew????
  4. That double pump, two handed dunk he did on the break is not humanly possible. There's just no way.
  5. He should've popped him right in the mouth during the Playoffs. Then all of the 'emotions' would've stopped right then and there.
  6. I don't condone violence either, but if Schro had 'taken care of business' during the Playoffs, this wouldn't have happened. You don't let someone slap you 'upside' your head on national TV. An elbow or a shove can be justified as being a part of the game. When someone flat out slaps you, basketball is over. You have to nip that right there. Schro didn't do that, so now the same person that slapped him is now talking about his mother/family. IT has ZERO respect for Schro as a man and is bullying him. Going to the media or twitter is not going to change that.
  7. Going to the media about this after Thomas obviously got in Schröder's head is pointless. DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT DURING THE GAME!!! If you want to shut him up, you're going to have to outplay him and dominate the matchup. That's the only way. Now IT knows he has Schro in his pocket.
  8. "I don't care about the fans" without proper context sounds pretty bad when you take it at face value. But it also didn't fit with who Joe was at all so he should've been given the benefit of the doubt. He was basically the SF/SG version of Sap and one sentence completely tarnished his rep with the Hawks. The media has to be more responsible with how they report things.
  9. Joe's comments were taken out of context though. He was never really a 'talker', if you know what I mean.
  10. Yep, all that did was add fuel to the fire of Atlanta having a terrible fan base. Joe was pretty stoic through it all and even took the high road when questioned about it. Smoove, on the other hand, was obviously hurt when he was booed. That told me how oblivious he was to how he was viewed by the fans when he was here. To get hit with the reality that your own hometown fans don't like you has to hurt. As frustrating as his play was at times, I honestly felt kind of sorry for him. With Al, it's a little different. He left this team high and dry and claimed to be the one who was disrespected after sandbagging it for two seasons. I hope the fans will at least show some restraint during his video tribute. After that, boo and heckle him until you're hoarse. I'm talking all 4 quarters here.
  11. The Hawks should've never traded Lou while he was still recovering from injury. He had so much more value than just filler to go along with Bebe. That was a stupid, stupid, stupid trade. He should still be on this team.
  12. I still never got the Joe hate. It's not like he left the team high and dry. He got traded. It was a little embarrassing to see the fans boo him to be completely honest. That wasn't a good look for ATL fans IMHO.
  13. Not that different my 'Squawk brethren. Either way you get screwed, but you feel better about the latter because you got a dinner from Red Lobster out of it. If Sap leaves and the Hawks get nothing out of it, that will hurt this franchise no matter how nice he is on his way out. I love Sap and what he stands for but I'm Hawks first from here on out.
  14. +1 to LW3. I appreciate the Hawks trying to be more interactive with the fans, but there's absolutely no value in these interactions. I've seen enough city councils, town halls, and PTA meetings to know that these things ALWAYS have the potential to go bad. Just email the season ticket holders a survey and save yourselves the headache.
  15. Hey if this story is fizzling out I say let it fizzle. No need to stir it back up for any reason. The trade and potential trade rumors last week overshadowed it and I have absolutely zero problems with that. LET. IT DIE.

    Deja Vu?

Anthony Davis and Karl Anthony Towns are in that conversation. You save those crazy contracts for elite players. I thought the benefit of having a roster with no superstars was not having to pay superstar money and the flexibility that comes with that?
  17. I saw similar posts last season around this time. Don't get me wrong, I love Sap both on and off the court, but this is a business. You're gonna have these high profile superstars talking to Sap this offseason trying to convince him that he is the missing piece to their championship puzzle. Anything can happen.
  18. He's gonna screw us. I just know it.
  19. I'm getting a little concerned now. I'm baffled at the fact this happened a month ago and yet the Hawks organization didn't get ahead of this when they had the chance to deal with it behind closed doors. Now it's in the hands of professional talking heads and internet trolls who will have no issue taking a massive dump on the Atlanta Hawks. All that effort to regain credibility as an organization and generate good PR over the past few seasons, and now this? This isn't a good look for the Hawks.
  20. If that were the case, why on Earth would a Hawks executive be complicit in a plot to dismantle his own team?
  21. +1000 to this. The Hawks are right in the middle of making some pivotal decisions that could make or break this franchise. This is a potential distraction at a time when we need the GM to be focused on the minute details of any trade offers to ensure we don't get screwed over. This really isn't a good time for this.
  22. Wilcox is a basketball executive who was talking to season ticket holders at a Hawks related event. He changed the narrative by not sticking to basketball. It's nobody's fault but his own. No other organization seems to have these problems.
