  1. I guess this will make NJHAWK happy. link link to video interview When they played against each other Rubio played 8 minutes (just came back from an injury) had 3 assists & 1 steal & 1 rebound, Jennings played 22 minutes had 12 points and 2 assists.
  2. Chillz wants Marvin to join Olympiacos so he can return to the Hawks and be a starter! :stirthepot:
  3. How was this HS->college->pro system implemented anyway? I think everywhere else in the world (except South Korea and to some extent Japan I believe) kids simply join a club and school sports are of 0 importance or non-existent.
  4. Panathinaikos just won the fourth game with 94-81 and is now the greek champion. Childress played 35 minutes, had 10 points (1-8 2FG, 0-2 3FG, 8-8 FT), 7 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 block, 1 turnover and 5 fouls.
  5. When Olympiacos and Panathinaikos face each other in an important game one can expect that the fans will do something like this, wasn't the first time and it won't be the last. These two are arch rivals from the same city and are almost always the top two greek teams in many sports not just basketball. Being a club member is more like a religion than "normal" fandom to these people, that's why the players of the club are either treated like gods or get things thrown at them. Back in the day Olympiacos represented the working class while Panathinaikos was the club for the upper class. In 2007 a Panathinaikos fan was stabbed when hooligans of both teams had a pre-arranged clash before a women's volleyball game between the two teams (wiki link).
  6. I believe this is the riot: After the game: ">" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="425" height="350"> Childress looked noticeably scared and confused, I guess he wanted to flee into the dressing room, but police told him to stay on the court.
  7. By the way he also has a blog, some very interesting articles are on there: http://www.sports.ru/blog/messina/
  8. I've read rumours that Toronto and another team (forgot which one) would like to interview him for their coaching position this summer. But I also seem to remember that he isn't a big fan of NBA basketball and I fear that a team with mostly american players might not take a european coach seriously especially if he has a strong accent.
  9. Panathinaikos won 84-82, Bourousis had the chance to tie the game with 4 seconds left, but he missed after a nice spin-move and then Childress missed the tip-in. Childress had a few good plays in the 3rd, but then he disappeared again, he finished with 11 points, he didn't make a single jumper. Bourousis didn't show much, but he does seem to get a lot of rebounds because of his size. Pekovic & Batiste combined for 39 points in 40 minutes.
  10. Andersen plays for Barcelona now, not Moscow. ;) 2nd game is really good right now, Childress Tip Jam, Batiste answers with an alley-oop, Teodesic three, Jesikevicius anwers with a three of his own, hope this continues.
  11. Halftime Olympiacos 41 Panathinaikos 43. Bourousis seems a little too fat and unathletic for the NBA. Pekovic & Batiste pretty much destroyed the Olympiacos big men so far, too bad that Pekovic has no interest in playing in the NBA. :( Childress is kinda invisible and his team seemed to play better during the streches he was on the bench. Hmm do I switch the channel to [rec] now or watch the 2nd half? Decisions, decisions...
  12. So is anybody watching the Euroleague semi-finals? 8 minutes left in the Moscow-Barcelona game and Andersen has 22 points. Later tonight Childress & Bouroussis will battle Jasikevicious & Pekovic. Fun fact: Coins & keys are not allowed into the Berlin O2 World today, most likely because they fear the greek fans.
  13. He won't get killed, just look at him, that guy is extra tough, I bet defenders are already scared of him. ">" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="425" height="350">
  14. No, ALBA Berlin wasn't in the same Euroleague group and I'm not some Childress groupie that would travel to another country to attend one of his games. ;)
  15. His team is doing very good. His individual performance is good in the Greek league, but in Euroleague games he has been quite disappointing.
  16. No, 32 regular season spanish games + 2-11 spanish playoff games (Barcelona always finishes in the top 4, so they'll always make the playoffs) + 1-3 spanish cup games + 10 Euroleague regular season games + 6 Euroleague Top 16 games (Barcelona should always be able to qualify for the Top 16, it only takes ~4 wins) + 3-15 Euroleague playoff games (again Barcelona will probably always qualify for the playoffs) --------------------------------------------- 54-77 games, much less than the number of NBA games, but quite a bit more than 20. The posted article is over a year old, Sund didn't want to give him that money last year, so I doubt he'll give it to him this year.
  17. Late first? Where did you read that? More like late second or undrafted. He would be a waste of a first round pick, he has zero offensive skill and pretty much the only thing he does is block some shots. As a second round pick he might be ok if we let him play in Europe for a couple of years and see if he develops. 2008/09 stats: Ukrainian League - 26 games, 4.4 pts, 2.6 reb, 0.9 blk, 74.2% FG (46-62) EuroChallenge - 11 games, 18.6 min, 4.9 pts, 3.5 reb, 1.3 blk, 62.9% FG (22-35) 2007/08 stats: Ukrainian League - 31 games, 5.0 pts, 3.6 reb, 0.9 blk, 60.0% FG (54-90) Eurocup - 14 games, 3.6 pts, 3.4 reb, 1.2 blk, 60.6% FG (20-33)
  18. According to this page you can already search inside multiple pdf files at once (without having to open them all) with the Adobe Reader if you select advanced search features.
  19. Dude, he HAS to make the all-star game, what do you not understand about this????? David Stern could call ANYTIME and say "Hello Woody, I just wanted to let you know that we revoke JJ's invitation to the all-star game, the bum can't even play 46 minutes every game. Oh and by the way the Atlanta Hawks are now banned from the NBA, you losers don't even have a single all-star, lol.". :computer8:
  20. Some (maybe all) of these pics are doctored. And did Jamie Koeppe really win Miss Canada 2008?
  21. Sorry, but it is a very common practice in Europe that foreigners go to rehab in their home country or another city.
  22. From Eurobasket: My conclusion: - Chillz will stay in Greece - Marbury is just the usual hype that happens whenever Panathinaikos or Olympiacos want to sign a new player - Olympiacos will sign an american player with Euroleague experience
  23. Since Olympiacos will most likely reach the greek finals once again Chilldress will be occupied until the beginning of June, so the answer is no.
  24. Childress' december: 12/03/08 Air Avellino (2-3) @ Olympiacos (4-1) 66-91: 20 min, 13 pts (5-7 2fg, 0-2 3fg, 3-4 ft), 4 reb, 1 stl, 2 to, 1 fl 12/06/08 Olympiacos (7-1) @ A.E.L.
