great braves rumor going around

first the one that isn't a rumor, Time Warner has put the Braves up for sale.

THe rumor is that Arthur Blank is interested, as he is a big baseball fan.

Yeah...i heard about this a couple of days ago, i wasn't sure if i believed that time warner would sell the braves, because it sounded too good to be true, but then i saw it on the news...best thing that could have happened to them.

also rumored: if stan kastens group isnt able to buy the nationals, the braves would be next in line.

That would be the greatest off-season pick-up for the Braves a new owner. The one thing that's has to happen is a way to get people back in the stands so the new owner will be ready to raise the payroll and give JS more room to improve the team.

Any idea who may go in with Blank into buying the Braves? I don't think Blank has the money alone to buy the Braves. He will benefit from having the structure of the team from top to bottom already in place. Something he didn't have for the Falcons at 1st. I just hope many fans don't start thinking we will have a huge payroll if he does come in. I think it will be kept within about $95 Mil at most.

Blank's net worth is $1.4 BILLION, and it is going up according to Forbes. I believe he has enough to buy the Braves at an anticipated price of probably $450 million.

He has got richer since owning the Falcons. I think when he purchase them he was in the 700-900 Million range.

Well, I'm sure that both Blank and Marcus have stock in Home Depot, and Home Depot does over $65 billion of business each year. Blank's worth will probably go up as Home Depot's stock continues to go up.

1.4 billion isn't that much when you're talking about a 380 million dollar baseball team. Does he have 30% of his net worth LIQUID? I seriously doubt it. Not many billionaires do.

I think it would be awesome though for Blank to own the team. He would turn them around.

It may not be liquid, but I'm betting that Arthur has a great credit rating. Most of these guys that buy these teams borrow the money to do so.
