dhawk
His defense is definitely a plus. He got about 16 minutes, probably deserved more.

Premium Member Wretch Posted February 8, 2006 Premium Member Report Share Posted February 8, 2006 They played up to the Pistons. They watched Detroit's unselfish sytle of play and they took the que (Maybe Woody had something to do with that? Being from that environment and knowing how they play?). We moved the ball and got GREAT looks. Early on, it looked like Al was kinking up the rope - because we'd be moving the ball and then he'd get it on the block; and we froze while we waited on him. BUT, he made that shot consistently and opened his game up with some nice passes (particularly when he found MWill for the nice flush). Great team game on the offensive end...held up by JJ. Man... JJ gives us scoring we haven't had since Smitty was here. When we need a bucket, we simply give it to him. Man, that 3 he took off of Detroit's misque... It was like, they gave him just a split second of indescision and the ball was through the net. Just beautimous...! Both teams shot the ball well. VERY well, but it wasn't like an open-court shootout. Defensively, we played a very good game. We had some (a few) lapses...but not a bunch on top of each other...and when we did, and allowed Detroit to build a 6 or 7 point lead, we didn't fold. Nobody tried to shoulder the load to bring us back. We kept moving the ball. ...and I tell you what man. Tyshaun Prince lol WTF... Man, he must have had Angels in the Backcourt or something. Because he was making these damn shots...these incredible shots - AND 1 lol. That one wrap around scoop deal...and that fall away with his foot BARELY over the 3pt line...man I thought that was gonna be a 4pt play. Good game from both teams. You wouldn't have recognized your Hawks.
Traceman
wanted him to go with Smoove (or even Marvin) on D down the stretch in lieu of Chillz because Chillz just isn't long enough or strong enough to handle Tayshaun down low. BUT, he switched JJ to Tayshaun and put Chillz on Rip and it worked GREAT. Tayshaun couldn't push JJ off the block to get that great down low position and Chillz did a great job of chasing Rip off screens. The Salim/Ivey rotation was right on point.
