Your only taking in a small sample there. Sure you have to make trades, usually big trades, to become a finals caliber team. But that is a far cry from building a winner, which is the FIRST step in the ultimate goal. Everyone and their brother knows that you can't build a team from the draft, almost entirely, and make it a champion without lots of tweaking and changing along the way.

There are a lot of people (even here) who believe that you get 2 maybe 3 star players out of the draft and surround them with 4 to 5 Ty Corbins and you will win a championship.

I just wanted to point out that somehow, you must get a superstar talent... Then you must get a team most of the time with VETS surrounding that superstar talent and make your run. Either that Or follow the Piston model of picking up a team piece by piece wholly based on Need. You have to applaud what Joey D. has done.

But in a FAcy world, it's hard to totally build from development. What happened to Orlando is exactly why you don't try to develop... Because FAcy comes in and wipe you out.

You notice the second time Orlando intended to start over, they saved all their nickels from some pre-fab superstars (Duncan, Hill, Tmac). Had Duncan not stayed in SA and had Hill not took injured, I think Orlando would have won several championships by now. It was the same model that Detroit used except Detroit picked up Cheaper talent.
