Admin capstone21 Posted November 30, 2002 Admin Report Share Posted November 30, 2002 I noticed in the boxscore that he has not been playing. Is he hurt?
Guest
It appears as though he just didn't play.
Rick
Yep thats right. ESPN reports it was Lons decision. See bottom of this article - http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/recap?gameId=221129001 I didn't see the game, but I find it surprising he didn't play condidering we shot only 40% and didn't get many points from the bench. Did Ira and Email play that good to warrant keeping DG on the bench?
Blunt91
I didn't watch tonight's game but I was complaining about the same thing in my post the other day. If Kruger does play Dion he is only given token minutes. Dion is too good of a player to waste away on the bench. Do Glove a favor and trade him, or do all the Hawks fans a favor and releas Lon Kruger of his coaching duties.
Guest
Same say he doesn't play defense...[censored] nobody is playing defense as we are giving up 99PPG. It's sad that Dion is sitting on the bench and Darvin Ham a worthless player is getting playing time.He and his 2PPG.
Gray Mule
Hawks play back to back with another game tonight. After the hard fought overtime victory on friday night, we need all the pep and energy we can muster just to stay in the gym to have a chance. Dion Glover may be expected to provide that tonight. I hope that is the reason. We shall see. He may have a slight injury or a touch of the fly bug and no one is telling that. Anything is possible. He may be in the dog house. I hope not. Tonight, we should find out. Maybe the Hawks didn't think he matched up well with the opposition but I can't believe that. He is too much of a slasher inside and that is what Hawks were doing last night. Hopefully we were just saving him for tonight and he will bring us the energy that we need. Another thought, although I haven't heard any rumors, maybe he is on the trading block and Hawks don't want to take a chance of his being injured. Whatever it is, we should know after tonight's game. Nurlman
using the bench as a motivator. There's no question that Dion adds a lot offensively, but the second unit has played dismal defense this season (as chronicalled the last few days). You don't bench your best offensive weapon off the bench... unless you're trying to make a point to him -- Play defense, or ride pine.
Iman
I'd like to see much more of Crawford and Dion. At times I think McCaskill needs to be used more too. Darvin and Email both seem to be a skill level below what is needed no matter how hard they hustle. Ira can look that way at times on offense and he may be getting a few too many mins to me too, especially when we also have Email and Ham on the floor, not that I'd ever do that anyways..lol. Dion's a better playmaker and ballhandler to me than anyone other than JT. Dion makes some stupid plays but no more than the rest of the team, I dont know why he seems to get benched for spells so often.
Guest
It sounds like your are just making excuses. What about stupid and talentless Darvin Ham?He is the biggest pile of [censored] on the roster(Notice Mike James buried the game tier right over his head)and you want to talk about defense?About about that 1.9PPG Ham gets? It's funny that some people here consider 1PPG depth.Ham is the most offensively challenged guy since Manute Bol. You have made every excuse for Lon,but the fact of the matter is the team doesn't even run a offense they just try and create what they can get....Lon doesn't get the best out of the players, they don't play defense, they get outhustled on the glass giving up offensive boards, they don't dive for lose balls. Say what you want, but Detroit is a team with little talent but only have a handful of losses and Lon has a mediocre ball club. I have been trying to tone down some in recent days....but I'm rather sick of you acting as if everything is great when in fact nothing is great.Maybe you should tape Bob and Mike and listen to them all the time....afterall,why critisize the team or Lon?They are so great you know....
