JTFan31
Some of you might agree, some might disagree. Big Dog is a great scorer, but he is not the right player for this team. Last year Reef and Jt clicked great after mid January. What this team needs is SG that can come here play defense and stretch the Defense with his 3 pt range. Babs did make a great trade with acquring Big Dog, because now he can use him as a trade bait and it looks like Nazr is also the odd man out on Stotts system. We have the inside and outside game with JT and Reef and we have Bid dog with his in between game, but Big Dog is not the right player for this team. Few reasons why: we need guys that can slash through the lane and create, we only have jt to do that, we need guys that play some good defense, because night and night out Big dog man is eating him alive. We need another player that can hang around that 3 point line and some one that moves and hussles without the ball, Bid dgo does neither. He is definitely the wrong guy for this team, but Babs did make a great trade, he is our trade bait. How about this, I havent checked it on real gm, but it sounds tasty. Big Dog/ Nazr for Derek Anderson/ Jeff Mcinnis Blazers get a prolific scorer and with their better coaching and they are playing really well and nazr will help them in size. We get Mcinnis another ballhandler that can definitely help us, and Anderson well he slashes and can shoot those 3's, ahletic and can also handle the rock and play some good defense. Guest
JT has been pretty bad also.Even I am in shock of their effort tonight.Wilks had a bunch of points when the lead was built up to 15 points but what a awful basketball team. And Diesel thought firing Lon would fix everything.lol
Premium Member Diesel Posted December 31, 2002 Premium Member Report Share Posted December 31, 2002 Big Dog is right for Reef. However, JT has to learn how to find Big Dog and find himself in the offense. Also, trading for a ball handler would help JT too. One trade I like is Nazr for Chris Dudley, Antonio Daniels, and Filler. The reason is that Daniels can play the SG, guard most SGs, and be a second ball handler. He's wasting away in Portland and they could use Nazr. Daniels would be a great compliment to what JT brings to the table. [censored] if Glover could get Daniels, I say do it. Now, Neither JT nor Daniels are playmakers. However, with the right training, we can get the ball up and down the floor and maybe rotate the ball to the open man a lot better. Also if it were possible to get McInnis?

I never stated that it would be an overnight fix. IN fact, I have always pointed to the homestand as being the time when the Hawks can actually start learning anything from a new coach. Just get ready to eat a whole LOT of crow...I promise you. I think you're suffering from premature celebration.
Guest
The team is terrible.I don't expect them to continue to average only 80PPG like they have the last 3 games. However the team is a flawed team and soft.Everybody in the starting lineup is a soft player. That is why they get down so easy because they are soft. They Hawks have alot of teams coming up that are better teams AND more talented.Players like Shareef and Big Dog are too slow to keep with the quicker forwards in the league They have a winning record at home but most do... 21 teams have home winning records....So big deal about winning home games because nearly every team does it. Sorry I busted your bubble again. I'll admit I made a huge mistake about JT..too bad I didn't make thje mistake about the team sucking. They will play well once the pressure is off and they are expected to be a bad team. They done that last year....So why wouldn't they do it this year also? They will play well once they get 10 games below .500 and it will not make a difference by that time.

swolehawk2
Would be to start Wilks and JT in the backcourt and Ira at the SF..bring Dog off the bench to score...but I don't think Stotts has the balls to do it plus it might cause Dog to pack it in...but he just can't guard anybody. I know everybody will say JT would be torched...but it is not like Ira is shutting down SGs either. Wilks JT Ira Reef Theo That would probably be our best group chemistry wise...maybe we can cut down on all the jump shots.
d2v16DKG
Hotatlantadude I think it's time you infiltrated someone else's website. I hear the Celtics miss you. You just can't give any credit to Wilks can you. He was 7-11 with 19 points and made an unbelieveable steal late in the game. Yes, JT sucked last night and Dog was off too but this new kid has definitely caught my eye!! I still say JT and Wilks need to be on the floor at the same time for the offense to move. Hotatlantadude you never responded to my question yesterday: Do you ever go to the games in Atlanta and cheer for the Hawks, or are you always rooting for the other team? Guest
I cheer for changes to the franchise that I have watched for so long. It's a disappointment that the team has been reduced to what it has. "Hotatlantadude I think it's time you infiltrated someone else's website." I really don't care what you think. If I was a dumb homer moron like Stinger and the other idiot you would be happy. What effect did he have on the game?Your the typical if he had good stats he done a good job type of guy. Winning obviousally means nothing. He did nothing til the game got to a big lead and not to mention that Travis Best toasted him in that game. This team doesn't play a NBA game.Do you think they play like NBA players? They are a insult to Pro basketball and they don't play the game the way it is supposed to be played.... They don't even care that they lose. Why would I go pay to see players that don't even care if they lose? Do you pay your money to support players that don't care?If you do,your a [censored] moron. I'm saying get rid of these pieces of [censored] that take court AND LOSE 10 STR8 ROAD GAMES to the freakin heat. Build the team correctly. Why can't you accept these guys suck? They aren't a good team.I call what I see... you call what you want to see.I seen some NBL chump that had mediocre production on that level score some points once the heat got up by 15 points..l'm calling it objectivley...What did his stats accomplish? The team wasn't even in the game at that point. Why didn't he score when it was a 1-5 point game? The players have said it Themselves"It's easy to score when you get down by 15-20 points. It becomes easier"the players said it themselves. What more proof do you need [censored]. Do you know anything about the game or do you just cheer rah rah like a dumb cheerleader?I say your closer to the ladder. Go back to reading boxscores.Afterall,Reef had a good game scoring 16 points. He scored his ton of points alright.yeah, after the lead had got big for Miami. The team is in bad shape and excuse me for being concerned and want better for the team.Meanwhile you be happy losing as long as the stat sheet looks good. Guest
PS:It's hard enough for me to stomach guys that can't even make the simplest of passes without turning the ball over. It's the players I have hardtime.Being a fan doesn't mean you have to accept whatever the team does and accept everything they do and me happy about it.I'm not happy that they can't even run a offense. Can't even run a offense.Do you really enjoy watching the team play? Are the games really fun to watch?Be honest. Any team I support I will be honest when they suck.I'm not going to tell myself they are good when they are not.
d2v16DKG
So your answer is you don't go to the games and the whole team sucks so why should you. Oh yeah, I can see your a true Hawk fan. No, I'm not happy with everything I see on my tv screen (I live in Connecticut, but I still see them in person when they play on the road close to me) and I get mad too when I see stupid passes like JT threw last night and Stotts yanked him rightfully so. But I don't turn around and give up on a team I have been following since the days of Bob Pettit. You probably don't even know who he is, do you? Have you ever heard of contructive criticism? Your criticism is hateful. I may be wrong but I thought this was a website for Hawk fans not Hawk haters!!
Playmaker0017
JTFan31, I completely agree. Big Dog is a cancer that is spreading through the entire team's work ethic. If utilized correctly, Big Dog can contribute, but we don't have the defense to back up his inability to play on that end. Further on offense, he NEVER needs to dribble, he NEVER needs to shoot more than 15 times a game. He needs to come of double picks or shoot off of a double down to Shareef. He cannot help us succeed playing the way he is playing. He messes with the tempo of the game and his consistant lack of defense hurts. We miss the defense of DeMarr Johnson of late last year and the passing of Kukoc. Those two things combined help us win last year. Play.
Premium Member Diesel Posted December 31, 2002 Premium Member Report Share Posted December 31, 2002 In reply to:They melt when other teams put pressure on them.. They get pushed around on a consisant basis..They have no heart either.A collection of soft ass players. The Kings are soft... Especially Webber. The Mavs are soft... Melted to the Lakers with a 30 point lead. KG and Minn is soft... Haven't made it past the first round. Tmac and Orlando is soft.... Haven't made it past the first round either. You get yourself in trouble when you try to define individual players by team accomplishments... Because when you define it that why... Every team and player in the league become soft. Even the Lakers who have failed to answer ANY Bells this season. Soft is as Soft does. If we are soft, we'd melt all the time. Right? However, just the other day, "Soft" Shareef Basically Outplayed Tim Duncan and Led us to victory. Your main problem is that you confuse SOft with INconsistent. Along with the fact that you have NO patience. Inconsistent isn't all bad becuase it suggests that the talent is there. We've just left a stint of bad coaching. We're learning from new coaching. As we learn, our consistency will get better. You'll just have to wait and see.
Guest
Those teams obviousally aren't soft enough..They have winning records don't they?Where is the Hawks winning record? That's right the team is built around losers like JT/Reef/Big Dog.They aren't winners.Giving JT any credit was one of the biggest mistakes I ever made. "KG and Minn is soft... Haven't made it past the first round. Tmac and Orlando is soft.... Haven't made it past the first round either. " Again where is the Hawks playoff birth?Kinda hard to compare 30 win teams to teams that are in the playoffs every year. I call 10 str8 road losses bad and not inconsisant. How are you inconsisant when you have lost 10 str8 road games.Who gives a [censored] about having a winning record at home when nearly every team has a home winning record...Big Deal. "However, just the other day, "Soft" Shareef Basically Outplayed Tim Duncan and Led us to victory." Yeah and he got butchered by Al Harrington a 6th man. Until they win games and even play NBA ball instead of middle school ball(actually MS teams are more fundamentally sound than the Hawks)I will bash the [censored] out of them because they do deserve it.
