jaywalker72
If there was a lesson that you would think the Atlanta Hawks would have learned by now, it’s that 40 minutes of basketball doesn’t cut it in the NBA. Today, in front of another typically sparse crowd, the Hawks blew an 11 point fourth quarter lead, getting embarrassed at home by the Chicago Bulls, 115-102. The game was typical of the way the Hawks have played all year. The Hawks would play five minutes of great basketball, followed by a one or two minute stretch that would undo it all. But, despite their attempts to give the game to Chicago earlier, they led 83-72 heading into the fourth quarter. Premium Member mrhonline Posted January 20, 2003 Premium Member Report Share Posted January 20, 2003 Where are the tranquilizers? This has become a joke... I'm beginning to think that the Hawks might actually have a chance of landing LeBron at this point.

jaywalker72
We stayed in that zone too long and got passive....Rose hit some big shots, but we were certainly on our heels.
Premium Member mrhonline Posted January 20, 2003 Premium Member Report Share Posted January 20, 2003 Don't you have to be able to play "team defense" to make a zone defense work? LOL, Stotts is trying hard, but nothing seems to work, does it? Well, at least the Hawks will get a chance to see Antonio Daniels on Wednesday, if they let him play any... TheDude
the question isn't who "guarded" Rose/Fizer, it's who "gavehighfivestoRoseandFizerontheirwaytothehoop".... man this team sucks...the worst part is they shouldn't even be close to sucking this bad..they have basically put the season on the shelf and aren't trying...buncha little sissies.... i'm not proud to be a Hawks fan anymore..... Gray Mule
If these Hawks refuse to show up for their next game, and instead choose simply to forfeit, who could blame them? After the way things went in the 4th against the Bulls, Hawks should have had five players from the Develop- ment League on the floor. It would not have been as bad as what we were forced to watch. At one point, it was reported that the Bulls had hit on 18 of 19 shots! They then missed one more the rest of the quarter. And, this included several three point shots. They probably couldn't do that again if you simply left them alone on the offensive end by themselves. To put an exclamation point to it all and really show up the home team, with only seconds left and the outcome already decided, a circus type thunder dunk right in the face of these hapless and helpless sleep- walkers showed the Bulls utter disrespect for this current edition of Atlanta's N.B.A. misfits. jaywalker72
They didn't have the guts to stop the run the Bulls were making, and then they let that circus crap happen against them with ERob, another case of allowing a team to punk you in your own gym. No play was more symblolic of this team than JT, with the shot clock winding down, complaining to Eddie Rush about Brunson popping him on the chest as he dribbled. He didn't get even with Brunson, he didn't take matters into his own hands, he looked somewhere else for help. Typical.
JTFan31
Just when we saw the worst from this team losing to the knicks when we were leading in the 4th, it got even worse on Monday afternoon against the Bulls. Unbelievable. That E Rob dunk was and should be a total embarassment to this team. Honesty if I was a player for this team and played everynight like Ira does, I would quit this team and hopefully get picked up next year by a team that shows some effort. This team definitely does not have any of it, not even 1%. Can it get any worse? Yes it sure can, watch us lose to the Cavs on January 25th.
