TexasPete
Thats right about the playoffs. The team needs help in the middle. As constructed, the playoffs are a long way off. If we improved by adding a Maglore we may make a run. The Feb schedule is a killer and so far we are surviving. Next month it gets a lot better and we could do some damage if we get a piece or two. I wonder what the asking price for Calderon is at this point? They say he might be had for the right price. He would be a huge addition. A quick PG with excellent distributor skills is just what the doc ordered. I believe a Calderon would get us close to the playoffs if not in. BusBoyIsBack
Quote: lost to Utah without Boozer, lost to Heat without Shaq, lost to NY without Francis, lost to Charlotte without Felton(+others), lost to Lakers without Odom+, won with GS without Davis&Richardson, lost to Seattle without RayAllen, won with portland without Ray, Boston without Pierce+, and much more. Damn, did we play any 100% healthy team this year? enough replacements like the mature teams do. It's depressing when you think about where we could be if we just beat those teams we're supposed to beat and stop relaxing when a team isn't better than us on paper. KB21
It's not overly simplistic to believe that we definitely would have had a better record had Josh Childress, Marvin Williams, and Josh Smith not missed so much time in December, and we even went a stretch of three games without Joe Johnson. Not to mention that Speedy has been hurt and we were missing Ty Lue as well. Not many teams can survive having 6 of the top 8 rotation players missing a significant amount of time and still win. The thing is that all teams have injuries to one degree or another. Certainly we had more injuries than most teams earlier in the year but you can't say, "well if we had all our guys healthy", because it is rare to have your whole team healthy. And while we went 3 games without JJ a lot of teams' stars have missed a lot more than 3 games.

I would say that is less than most teams but obviously i am not 100% sure. JJ and Smith are our two impact players. I think the team can weather the loss of other players but not these two. SmooveTheFuture
We went through our worst sretch when smith was out wat were we like 1-7. He is a huge part of this esp. now that his offense game is taking off. Theres no reason this team shouldnt be at .500 if we didnt have injurys. I hope we can make a playoff run it would be huge for the growth of this team.
BusBoyIsBack
We clearly have had more injuries than the average team in the league. NOt even close. But with that said, if we don't take teams like Charlotte or a team without a star like the Ray Allen-less Sonics for granted, we are close to a .500 team right now. We have lost at least 8-10 games because we overlooked our opponent. At least 8-10 games.
