Premium Member Diesel Posted February 3, 2003 Premium Member Report Share Posted February 3, 2003 I visited the greatest City in the World this weekend. Went to a Hawks game. EMPTY. Saw one thing. Either Smush Parker and Ricky Davis are great defensive gaurds... Or Terry is still weak as a PG. I'm glad we won... But for the future, we have to have one guy to come back and help JT bring the ball up. Stotts have to work on just that. Drills on bringing the ball up. I think everyone is so preoccupied with getting to their spots that nobody is concerned with weather or not the ball gets up the court. Glover has been playing well with increased time. Benjamin deserves Ira's Spot. He brings so much more than Ira did in terms of ability, offense, and intensity. They are about a wash on defense. Big Dog is not Selfish... Nor is he a cancer. Big Dog looks like he's starting to fit in . Theo... Is starting to play well, but he's still not an intimidator. So he doesn't go unchallenged. Reef is not a takeover guy but he scores very well when the ball is given to him in his spot. I think as his confidence grows, Dion might become a guy who will take a game over?? Gray Mule
Good report. Thanks. No one seems to have noticed or at least not mentioned it, but Hawks now have the center position well covered. Both Theo & Nazr seemed to be playing well on both ends of the court. Scoring is up for the center position and if you combine the stats of both players, it looks pretty impressive. Both have picked up their scoring and while Nazr is not the shot blocker that Theo is, his offensive game is as good or better than Theo's. Between the two of them, they get the job done very well. Hawks blew a big lead Sunday afternoon but managed to overcome that and pulled back ahead when it counted. This is something that they have not been doing. Could it be that these Hawks are {finally} becoming a real team and not just a group of very good players? There is a difference! Tonight's game is pivotal for the first half. Win it and we will be in pretty fair shape. Loose it and --------
Guest
Benjamin" Well he only shoots 29% but he does bring some athletic ability. Dion has less pressure with Puppy Dog/Shareef/Theo/ JT than his part of the reason for his increased good play.
Playmaker0017
Diesel, I think Ira is nothing more then an overrated NBDL player. We were wowed by his play last year, because he was hungry. And, this year... we still "think" he is a good defender and hustling, because we don't want to admit that he is being PAID now, and doesn't care. Benjamin is the same way. He has quit hustling and shown how dumb he really is, since the first two games. I like him more than Ira, but he needs to be gone at the end of the year. Play.
