coachx
Awsome ! The news I have been waiting to hear. The Falcons may have $22,000,000 in extra salary cap relief next season. We could get whatever free agents we want !!! http://www.ajc.com/sports/content/sports/f...age_tab_newstab
djcorley
That won't happen... Based on the ruling from the Ashlie Lelie situation... It's more likely they'll recoup money in the range of 4-7 million. And it will be a longgggggg time before there's any resolution to that...alot of arbiration and litigation over this money. So don't expect any real resolution anytime soon!

This money is really important to Atlanta's franchise. We can sign an early round pick with this money.

So don't expect any real resolution anytime soon! I agree it could take a while but the Lelie situation is pretty different. Lelie held out for more money and was traded by Denver. The arbitrator ruled that could not be fined since he was no longer with the team and that he would have to repay a portion of his bonus for refusing to show up during his holdout (which was during the offseason and training camp only). Vick will be in violation of his contract and unable to play because of being in jail and then based on suspension. Those are two very different situations. I would not assume that an arbitrator is going to rule the same way based on the Lelie arbitration because a hold-out is different than inability to play due to league suspension and jail time. gsuteke
if Peter King is correct. he says he read Vick's contract. he earned ROSTER bonuses in 2005 and 2006 totalling over 25 million dollars. he was on the roster in 2005 and 2006. They aren't trying to recover all the bonuses in his contract if I understand correctly.
