HawkTodd
James Lang enters the NBA Draft. (5-9-03) http://collegebasketballnews.theinsiders.com/2/110063.html 6-10 center James Lang of Birmingham (AL) Central Park Christian has announced that he will skip college and enter the NBA Draft. Lang averaged 24 points and 16 rebounds per game this season and played in the McDonald's All-American Game in Cleveland and the EA Sports Roundball Classic in Chicago. James Lang has struggled with his weight throughout his career. He weighted close to 400 pounds at one time before shedding some of the extra pounds. He still is not in great shape as was evident in a subpar performance at the EA Sports Roundball Classic, where some fans booed him after mishandling several passes and missing a couple of inside buckets. Lang was seven of eight from the field and finished with 15 points and ten rebounds in the McDonald’s game. However, in Chicago, he was just two of nine from the field and three of eight from the line as he finished with seven points and twelve rebounds. Lang struggled academically early in high school, but had made good strides in the past year. He had received a passing score on his ACT, but still had work to with his GPA, making going to JC a strong possibility. Lang had been considering Louisville, Alabama, Kentucky, UAB and Liberty.
