Admin chillzatl Posted January 21, 2008 Admin Report Share Posted January 21, 2008 I give it an 8/10. Some of my friends said they really enjoyed it, but gave it 5/10 or 6/10, which really makes no sense to me. If you really enjoy a movie, how can it only get a 5-6/10? owell, it's an experience that everyone should see.
Premium Member Wretch Posted January 21, 2008 Premium Member Report Share Posted January 21, 2008 I would say that I don't understand why people dislike it...but I do. It's like, we don't appreciate the subtle things in movies. We want everything explained, in detail, right from the start of the movie. We want a really predictable, over the top, explosive action movie littered with trite, cheesy, one-liners. No one appreciates the ambitiousness of a film like this. ***Spoilers Below*** If something like this were to really happen, this is pretty much the way you would feel. Sh!t happening all over the place, your friends dying, and nobody giving you explanations. If a monster fell out of the sky, would you expect...say...a phone call from Christopher Walken giving you commentary? Would the government come on television and explain to everyone what happened? Man... NO. All hell would just break loose. I was impressed with the way they shot that film. All the acting that went into it, with the vantage point of a single hand held camera. Man...the helicopter scene, that nightshot scene in the subway, when they're on the street and the military comes by shooting at the creature...all the shaking and screaming. It was almost like being in the damn movie. What an awesome experience. Could you imagine if they had filmed it in 3D!!?!??!? 8.5/10 IMO (because it was over just too damn quickly!) Admin chillzatl Posted January 22, 2008 Author Admin Report Share Posted January 22, 2008 As soon as the fit hit the shan I said "this should be in 3d". I've seen Beowulf and A Nightmare Before Christmas in 3d and that's some cool ish! but yah, I enjoyed the hell out of it. Like you said "what a ride!" Plainview1981
Did you like Beowulf? It didn't look that good to me, but I've always liked everything I've seen from the director so I probably will give it a shot sooner or later. Admin
Beowulf was pretty awesome. I definitely recommend it although I'm sure it was much better on the big screen than at home.
Admin chillzatl Posted January 23, 2008 Author Admin Report Share Posted January 23, 2008 I saw it in 3d. The movie was so so, nothing great but nothing bad either. The 3d made it pretty amazing though.
