I don't think they wanted another brash, young player. The absolutely didn't want to rock the boat while they're trying to figure out the direction of the franchise in terms of players, cornerstones, coach, and even GM...it's a wacky world in clipperdom, this was the safest pick they could have made...and the same thing goes for the unbelievable pick by the Knicks taking Sweetney that high.
