jeddelong
McDavid, AOL work to seal deal By TIM TUCKER Atlanta Journal-Constitution Staff Writer Texas businessman David McDavid met into the evening Wednesday with AOL Time Warner officials and attorneys at CNN Center, striving to complete negotiations on McDavid's purchase of the Hawks, Thrashers and Philips Arena operating rights. "Discussions are continuing, and we are making progress," said Greg Hughes, a spokesman for Turner Broadcasting, the AOL division that includes the teams. The remaining issues mostly involve legal language and protections, according to people involved in the negotiations. McDavid arrived at CNN Center on Wednesday morning. He had said he hoped to complete the deal before returning to Dallas within a day or two. He acknowledged it could take longer for the final points of the agreement, if reached, to be put into writing and cleared by attorneys.
