Swish
Well, the only thing Sekou sprung was that CG was out, which didn't surprise me. No new candidates listed. Any thoughts, guys?
frosgrim
Several thoughts: 1) Grant was the guy until the ASG saw how they were getting hammered in the press. They had to go another direction to keep the very small core fan base to show everyone that they are committed to improving the teams. 2) They have low-balled every potential candidate they have interviewed. They now know they have to increase their offers, possibly above the market to get a qualified guy in here 3) They now realize that they have to give the new GM full control of operations- including hiring a new HC and making trades without interference. 4) Worst case for the ASG is that Grant pulled his name out of the running due to him not feeling that the job was worth his time and effort. I predict that it will be another week or two before the GM is hired.
EazyRoc
I think it's time to bring in King. I really wouldn't mind Gabriel, either.
DrReality
Maybe Grant withdrew when he saw he was getting hammered and was a set up to fail? if that's the case, smart guy because it would have killed his hopes for the future.
DrReality
If Grant withdrew his name, ASG is likely getting desperate. Not a good situation.
