NBA officiating is a joke, has Lebron ever committed a foul

If you actually go back and look at the replays of Lebron getting calls, he actually is getting hacked on most of them. When you are bigger, faster, and stronger than everyone else people have no choice but to foul you when you're going full speed to the basket.

Officals will miss calls, especially in a game like basketball where everything is so subjective. As far as I can tell everyone that consistently complains about officiating are just upset because their team is losing. But in the NBA with with the whole Donaghy thing going on, people seem to have convinced themselves that games they're watching are actually rigged, instead of later realizing that their emotion and bias as a fan is swaying their opinions during games.

Getting hacked on most of them?

How was he hacked in the totally clean block Howard had on him in the 3pt line that gave him 3 of his fts? How was he hacked on that other foul that was called on howard because lebron bumped his hip on him?

Meanwhile, let's take your argument seriously: is refs will miss calls, where did they miss a call that was disadvantageous to Lebron?

I don't think they try to favor teams. But superstars? No doubt.

how about it doesn't help when you have everyone, former players too, acknowledge the BIG NAMES get favorable calls in the NBA. That says a lot.

Just because your name is bigger doesn't give you the right to get things to go in your favor. THAT IS ANOTHER WAY OF SAYING, "LETS CHEAT FOR JORDAN BECAUSE THE FANS LIKE HIM" :thumbsdownsmileyanim:

THAT IS THE DUMMIEST "SO CALL RULE" EVER MADE!

THE NBA CAN BLAME NO ONE BUT THEMSELVES FOR HAVING FINICAL PROBLEMS! :whistling:

One thing you might not notice is that it is not only the calls that the superstars get, but it is also the foul calls that are not made against them. Other players get the tackiest fouls called on them during the first quarter of a game and have leave because they have 2 fouls in the first 5 minutes, but a superstar generally does not get the same fouls called against them. They are then labeled great defensive players (Lebron, Wade) when they can play a more agressive defense than the common player and not worried about having fouls called against them.

Also, the NBA seriously needs to look at who initiates the contact. If a defensive player jumps straight up and the offensive player jumps into the defender, then a foul needs to be called on the offensive player. Also, if a play intentionally changes their direction from a natural basketball play to intentionally jump into someone to get a foul call, then it should either be an offensive foul because the initiated the contact or a no call. The league needs to hold the referees accountable and the public needs to know that this is happen or the integrity of the game will always be questioned.

QFT. He's allowed to absolutely manhandle people on D, constantly, which is why I'm hoping he gets injured. It's the only way to keep the other few hundred players safe.

Good post.

My main issues with favorable calls for "stars" are:

(a.) Just screwed up calls like the non-existant foul on Howard's clean block of LeBron.

(b.) A refusal to call fouls on the star in the same way you would on a scrub. If it is a foul when the scrub bodies up the star and reaches in for minor contact on D, it should be a foul when the star bodies up the scrub and reaches in for minor contact.

(c.) Rewarding players who initiate the contact solely to initiate contact. I have never liked that a player who jumps straight up in the air is prone to the offensive player running under them and jumping into them on purpose to generate a foul or similar plays. If Paul Pierce or another star just lowers their should and barrels into the defender, that is not basketball we should be rewarding. Go hard to the hoop fine - but go hard into another player and that is BS because if the scrub does it to the star they sure don't get a trip to the line.

I started having doubts about the integrity of the NBA when Jordan got every call under the sun including throwing defenders out of the way so he can take shots. The fact you can't see the lottery results, only told what they were, only adds to that doubt. The Dallas/Miami series where Wade literally was getting foul calls while not even being touched was another one that adds to the doubt.

The lottery doesn't bother me. If the NBA were fixing that would big players go to places like:

Houston

Portland

Seattle while Seattle was dissolving

the Clippers

etc.

Not in my mind. Plus, the independent firms certifying the process would do tremendous damage to their reputations if they allowed any shenanigans.

Now the favoritism towards stars that really picked up steam during the Jordan era is a huge problem.

Adding to that, it's just boring when there are a million fouls every game. It's like you can't even watch the game, you're just watching players shoot free throws. Anytime LeBron puts his head down and drives you KNOW he's going to the line. Honestly, LeBron should realize this and drive EVERY single time and see how many calls he can get.

I am tired of watching rigged games. Even if Orlando did win, the foul trouble the officials put on Dwight is a joke. Same thing happened in the Hawks Miami series and Hawks Cleveland. I know everyone says the NBA wants LA Cleveland, but let them earn it please. I hate seeing players like Lebron ask for fouls when they did not get touched or they initiated the contact. David Stern needs to be fired.

I don't agree. The games I have been watching I have felt were called very fairly. Lebron even had a traveling called on him in the last minute of a game. Who would have ever believed that. I don't think the Lakers have been getting some calls that could have gone there way as well. And I always cheer for the underdogs.
