Marc Gasol is one of the better young centers in this league. He's often overlooked because he plays for Memphis but if we could find a way to bring him to Atlanta to play alongside Horford that could be dangerous. Horford is versatile with a mid range and game and Gasol has skill (as do most foreign players) who can play inside the 3pt line. Crawford is looking to request a trade and they need a veteran guard in Memphis ala Bibby who could mentor. If we could find a way to package our players and picks to bring Gasol over that would be great.

The fact that Marc is one of the better young centers in the NBA is exactly the reason the Memphis Grizzlies will not deal him, especially for a duplicate position player. All they have behind Marc Gasol is Hasheem Thabeet, who has proven nothing at this point. They aren't going to deal him for a shooting guard when they already have OJ Mayo and just drafted Xavier Henry.

Young Gasol is a better overall player than Horford and will only get better. We have nothing Memphis would want to get them to trade away Gasol. Now we could always try and take a chance with Hasheem Thabeet. I'm sure we could work out a trade that nets us him and Henry (who could give us some depth at the SF).
