tremor
Wolves played without their two important players (Ridnour, Flynn). Their third string PG, Telfair, was having a party against Bibby while Crawford can't even stay with his man playing off ball D. Luckily Wolves have no center. That guy they put up front was on our side and did all he could to help us win. Joe was ill and LD wisely limited his minutes. Apparently coach likes Mo a lot. they're on the same page. Josh Powell ... sucks. All he has to do on offense is to hit open shots and he missed two lay ups tonite. Marvin's a defensive specialist? Beasley was guarded either by Joe or Josh. Gray Mule
:thumbsdownsmileyanim: One thing I have noticed about Powell. Once he secures a rebound, it's hard for the opposition to take it away from him. He apparently has strong hands and he's big enough to not be easily pushed around. No, he's hot a great player. Certainly not an all star.. But remember, we didn't have to pay an arm and a leg to get him here. For what he is and what he cost us, I'm happy that we have him. But, you're right. We had the opportunity for a blowout. We won, but it wasn't easy. We gotta get better. :cant believe:

Yes I have been posting this week about what someone termed as blatantly obvious ---- but i will say it again the Hawks defense at the PG position is the most glaring issue with this team. Only Teague has the speed and athletic ability to stop the faster PGs, but for some reason he does not seem ready.

Good thing valuable pieces like Marvin and Mo are back. If the team isn't playing any sharper in the next few weeks, Drew needs to get canned.

I'd compare him to Wade Philips.
tremor
I think it's too early to evaluate Drew's work. Unlike previous coach, he's willing to learn and adapt.

I strongly disagree with you on Josh Powell. I killed the signing early on but he has been very good on the offensive end and he's giving good effort on the defensive end.. I agree on effort part of your opinion - he's decent defender and rebounder but he was advised as good jumpshooter. Meanwhile he's 44% from the field and majority of his shots were either open jumpshots or lay ups. And when playes misses two easy lay ups in a couple of minutes, he's either offensively inept (Ben Wallace style) or has no self confidence whatsever (JT style). After checking the stats I can't argue much with you on his offense. For some reason he's missing a ton of easy shots at the rim (5-14). I still think his rebounding is making up for his mediocre game down low. Edited November 15, 2010 by NineOhTheRino
