Bahamut
What a difference a new coach makes! No one had heard of Ron Hunter, who came to GSU from IUPUI (Indiana University Purdue University Indianapolis), which none of us have ever heard of, but the team is playing LIGHTS OUT. Amazing defense and transition 3-pointers tend to do that! They've played some no-names, who they beat by an average of 20 or so points, but they just beat Drexel (picked to finish #1 in the Colonial Athletic Association) and Virginia Commonwealth (picked to finish #3 in the CAA after making a Final Four appearance just last year.) On Saturday, GSU's going for win #12 in a row on the road against George Mason (picked to finish #2 in the CAA after making a Final Four appearance in 2006) who's coached by the infamous Paul Hewitt. This same GSU team won 12 games all of last season! Big ups to downtown Atlanta's other basketball team! GSU's Hunter: 'At some point, you're going to have to say these kids are pretty good.' Moderators lethalweapon3 Posted January 6, 2012 Moderators Report Share Posted January 6, 2012 Tech fans know "IUPUI" and Ron Hunter very well. He's on Barnhart and Durham right now, and he appears to be a true gem for GSU. ~lw3
coachx
I recall going to games back when Lefty had Nate Williams playing for them. Its nice to have a reason to go back now. Edited January 6, 2012 by coachx
