coachx
http://basketball.re...on_On_Lins_Role With Mike Woodson now the head coach of the Knicks, the change in style changes the entire equation for Jeremy Lin. Lin emerged in Mike D'Antoni's system, which played to his strengths of the pick-and-roll and a free-flow offense. Woodson wants to run his offense through Carmelo Anthony and Amar'e Stoudemire. “Woody’s inclination would not be to play him,” said a person who has worked with Woodson. Lin could lose the starting job to Baron Davis, who has been in the NBA for more than a decade and is a better defender. Toney Douglas could also get another chance under Woodson, as he has always been a very good defender even while struggling to grasp D'Antoni's system. I'm glad we don't have Woody. Other reports say Antoni wanted to trade Carmelo to the Nets for D. Willimas and run a uptempo 3 guard lineup with both Lin, D. Williams, Landry, Stoudemire, and Chandler. Ownership said NO and it was mutual to part ways at that point. Edited March 16, 2012 by coachx
Randy
Woody manages to screw up one of the few positives for the Knicks this year and he will be looking for a job once the season is over.
Premium Member Sothron Posted March 16, 2012 Premium Member Report Share Posted March 16, 2012 I think it is hilarious that Woodson is going to ruin the Linsanity story and change what was working for the Knicks which was their offense.

HalfHawk
Woody benching Lin is just speculation... This is from Woody himself, "Jeremy is a big part of what we do. He's our starting point guard." He had six years of coaching here and I honestly do think he's learned from his mistakes. Granted he'll still lean towards isolation offense and switching defense, his tendency of benching rookie PG's stops with Lin.
