coachx
With Dwight meeting with both Atlanta and Golden State today I have to wonder if we take him out to lunch or dinner ? Golden State seems to be a waiste of time in that they don't have the cap room to sign him. I hope we have the dinner date. You know Ferry and Coach Bud will be wearing their championship rings when they shake his hand. Hoping our discussion will be filled with the on court coaching philosophy with Bud telling Dwight how he will feature him on offense, like Tim Duncan, in S.A. Discuss how shooting specialist will be surrounded around him (Jenkins, Korver, possibly Morrow) and how he will have rebounding help, with muscle on the inside, in Al Horford. Point out how Horford can space the floor with and show the percentages of how good a mid range shooter Horford is and how well he would fit in with Howards strengths. Point out how Jeff Teague can favor a young Tony Parker and is far superior to the PG options for the Lakers, Rockets, and Mavs. Then we can make things fun for the jokester. Bring up playing with childhood friends like Lou Williams and Josh Smith all being in their hometown (possibly Morrow too). Get Lou and Josh on skype and have them talk about the old days, growing up in Atlanta, for a few minutes. How many guys have gotten a legit championship shot, in their hometown with childhood friends who can all ball ? Let him sleep on that and hope he dreams well. Moderators AHF Posted July 1, 2013 Moderators Report Share Posted July 1, 2013 Doesn't this stuff seem like college recruiting? I mean, everyone is offering the same contracts for the most part. All they are really doing is selling Dwight on the program. That is right on point. You are selling the town, the program and the teammates. It is a lot like college recruiting.

Probably.Yep - and didn't D12 say he wanted to be recruited since he didn't have a chance to experience it by going straight to NBA?

Mutombolievable
Are these separate meetings or will Smoove and Howard be in there together?
Twinblade
Howard is just toying with us, golden state and laker fans. Honestly I don't know why these teams should bother. Howard is a diva. Edited July 1, 2013 by Twinblade

Moderators PSSSHHHRRR87 Posted July 1, 2013 Moderators Report Share Posted July 1, 2013 I read a report saying that he will meet with Golden State first and Atlanta "later in the evening", so I'm guessing dinner date, although Houston's "date" didn't end until midnight PST. 00Blink
Whether it is lunch or dinner...I hope they bring Arthur Blank with them...QFT. Mr. Blank can do brunch and seal the deal. I wish I had his negotiation skills before I got married. *sighs* the opportunities I missed out on
MaceCase
It wouldn't surprise me. Lebron basically did that with his "decision" except it was more tricked out and over the top than even the most highly recruited high school athlete. It really amazes me how shallow and unoriginal the vast majority of athletes are.He had the equivalent of a personal IPhone X unveiling or an AVN award show where he was the winner in every category all in his own home office. I heard ILM even did some graphics on the PowerPoint presentations.

Dragitoff
Not sure if this is a good thing or bad thing. Kind of wish they'd just let Ferry do his thang, but also could have some weight if the ownership group personally guarantees to spend money to make Atlanta a championship contender and not just a middle of the pack playoff fodder for the Heat and Co. Exactly. Dwight knows about this ownership well; It would be great for Lev to come and dispel any previous notions and tell Dwight that he will spend whatever he needs to build a championship roster.
