From what I understand, the Hawks have historically been at the forefront when it comes to looking overseas for guys. I believe the disdain comes from recent regimes which have seemingly abused the whole "draft-n-stash" philosophy and have essentially wasted both 1st and 2nd round picks on guys they had no or minimal intention of ever bringing ovet to help the team. JMHO.I think it's more 'backlash' than bigotry.

The Hawks have neither been at the forefront in drafting players overseas nor have they wasted 1st round picks on foreign players - particularly ones who they never had any thought of bringing over.
