A player we could have just signed, but didn't.  Instead, we did a sign

and trade, giving our opponent a trade exemption in the process,

swapped some old draft picks who are over seas and got $1 million

because we did a sign and trade instead of signing him outright.

 

And this is a bad deal?  How?

I hate to admit this but I am still confused!  After yesterday's transaction(s) did the Hawks gain or lose or salary cap money and will this help or hurt their chances in making possible trades or FA signings?  I guess I am getting too OLD because I am having a really hard time figuring this all out!
