jy23
9-7 and that may be good enough to win the division.
DrReality
They did better in the first half than I expected. But the announcers said some ugly things about them re talent on defense. Makes you wonder if the GM is the one on the hot seat. He's the one who is responsible for signing/drafting talents. The coaches don't have talent to coach. Guest
Brian Billick was the one who started the 'talent' thing on Atlanta radio on Thursday. He said 'the Falcons have the least quantifiable talent on defense in the league.' Ouch!
Moderators macdaddy Posted October 6, 2014 Moderators Report Share Posted October 6, 2014 Man I hate average football teams. Our prospects for the season don't seem good.
Gray Mule
Where's the beef? Twas said last season - Falcon's defense isn't big enough and tough enough. So, they tried to get bigger and tougher. They apparently completely forgot about speed. This season they are bigger, stronger, meaner and much too slow to be a success. Opponent opens a hole and before our slow linemen and linebackers can react, the runner is down field, being chased down by a small, fast safety or cornerback. Oops! Should have thought of this idea of speed. We can't really pressure the QB. Ever wonder why? Could the lack of speed / quickness have anything to do with it? Guess they never thought of that either. They did bring in some old, experienced defensive players for the new line. Never thought of drafting defensive linemen or linebackers with speed / quickness to spare. Wonder why? Every week, we see these young players on our opponent's team who are good and very good. They didn't get drafted in the first round either. If they can do this, why can't we? So many questions. So few answers. That's us. We're pretty good at home but we're terrible on the road. Can't play them all at home. Drat!
