Admin chillzatl Posted April 27, 2005 Admin Report Share Posted April 27, 2005 Andrew with 3 doubles, 3 runs and no strikeouts. That's pretty big considering he's been swinging at breaking balls like a little leaguer and Glavine is a big breaking ball pitcher. Way to stick it to the mets! Plainview1981
Maybe I'm wrong... But it seems as if the Braves have clobbered Glavine just about every time they play him now. I don't remember all the details of him leaving Atlanta.... But this is about what he gets for signing with the Mets.
pathway23
Glavine is 1-7 with an 9.36 ERA against the Braves since he left...they have got to him pretty good. If the Braves start hitting even just average and fix the closing situation they should win this division I think. the pitching is just incredible with Smoltz, Hudson, and Hampton... Admin chillzatl Posted April 28, 2005 Author Admin Report Share Posted April 28, 2005 From a fan perspective, what he did was shameful. It would be like Johnny Damon or Curt Schilling being bought off to sign up with the Yankees. He signed up with his former teams biggest, most hated rival, for something like a 2% pay increase... From a business perspective, I guess he had to do it... but from a fan perspective, he deserves every earned run and then some when we play him. Weez
you mean, what he did is similar to Pedro now pitching for the Mets over the 'extra year without an option.' augh. downward spiral, best highlighted by the TO situation in Philly...except there, I don't really blame TO, though I hate that the situation exists. Admin chillzatl Posted April 28, 2005 Author Admin Report Share Posted April 28, 2005 But the mets don't have any sort of rivalry with Boston. Had he gone to the yankees, I don't think it would have been safe for him to ever come back to Boston.
Plainview1981
I can't believe Pedro told them to keep his ring! I guess some guys don't need a ring to remind them that they are the champion.
