  1. That's why you should have read point 2! You must think the Hawks played decent defense in game 2. Of course I didn't expect the Heat to only score 64 points again. I was in the building for game 1 and the truth is that the Heat missed a ton open shots in game 1.
  2. 1. The defense was terrible. It makes no sense to lay off shooters repeatedly; it didn't matter if Wade was in the game or not the Hawks left the shooters open from the 3-point line. 2. Piss Poor Coaching! As noted in (1) the Hawks left shooters open all night, and the reason for that is that Woodson have the hawks soft doubling the ball every time on defense. This in turn along with poor rotations left the shooters wide open (yes the Heat were hot from the 3-point line, but what do you expect when people are getting wide open looks; this is the NBA you know). When Wade was going off in the 2nd quarter WHY IN THE WORLD DID MARIO WEST NOT GET IN THE GAME. Its not like Flip was doing anything; he was pure garbage out there tonight. Where was Marvin in the second half? I don't think he played 1 minute in the fourth quarter; yet the team was getting nothing positive from Mo or Flip. 3. Joe Johnson played like straight up crap tonight! The main tell-tell of how poorly Joe played is that he had 000000000 assists. On one sequence Joe avoided a double team and got past the two defenders, yet he didn't even look to pass the ball and just forced up a shot near the rim (and of course he missed). There have been too many times this year when Joe gets into a hot dogging mentality and just absolutely refuses to pass the ball. The sad truth is that Joe has played really poorly most of this year.
  3. Actually if I recall right, Al didn't move from the Dominican Republic to Michigan until it was time for him to go to high school. He moved to Michigan to live with his dad (eventually his mom moved to Michigan too) because the U.S. provided a better place for him to polish his basketball skills compared to the Dominican.
  4. Naw, LeBron's not going to the Nets. A big part of luring LeBron to the Nets, was that the team plans to move to Brooklyn. The proposal for a new arena in Brooklyn hasn't received the proper funding yet, to start construction. Initially it looked like the Nets would open up the new arena in 2010, but that's not going to happen now.
  5. Well I must say the future of this message board looked a lot brighter until you started posting your useless rhetoric. It seems that you are either a Diesel wannabe or Diesel Jr. You're either a fan of the whole team or not a fan at all! Go back to your hole that you came out of this year; your posts are useless.
  6. Williams may play for Hawks Friday By SEKOU SMITH The Atlanta Journal-Constitution Thursday, April 09, 2009 Marvin Williams has to clear just one last hurdle before returning to action for the Hawks. Depending on how he feels at Thursday’s shoot-around practice, Williams could suit up against Indiana Friday night, Hawks coach Mike Woodson said. “We’re going to see how he feels after shoot-around and then we’ll gauge it from there and see what he wants to do,” Woodson said. “If he tells me he’s ready to go, we’ll make a decision as to what we’re going to do with him.” Williams went through a rugged half-court workout with some teammates Thursday as Woodson and the Hawks training staff watched every second. Williams has missed the Hawks’ last 16 games with a lower back injury. “We just wanted to monitor him and see where he was,” Woodson said. “He got knocked around a little bit today. The test will be once he sleeps and wakes up tomorrow and see how he feels physically.” Williams said he felt fine after the workout. He stopped short of putting a percentage on the chance that he’ll return against the Pacers. “I couldn’t even do that,” he said. “It just depends on how I feel. Some days I work out and wake up the next morning and I feel fine. And then some days I work out and then wake up the next morning and I’m super sore. But I’m very confident I’ll have a chance to get back.” After Williams suffered the injury in a March 7 win over Detroit there was talk that his season might be over and that surgery was an option. Instead, he opted for a rehabilitation program. Now, a little over a month after being told he would be sidelined from six to eight weeks, it appears Williams could return by the end of the regular season, and perhaps the playoffs. “I thought I was done [for the season] when they first explained it all to me,” Williams said. “The playoffs were certainly going to be a push or at least a stretch. I had high hopes, though. And now I definitely feel like I’m going to be back to my old self for the
  7. I wouldn't do that trade for the Hawks. Thabeet is another Samuel Dalembert in the making.
  8. That's my point; the offense doesn't flow any better without Marvin.
  9. But Diesel, doesn't the Hawks offense flow so much smoother without Marvin?
  10. You know what, I was thinking the same thing while watching Joe dribble and dribble then drive right into a double team only to attempt a fade away jump shot.
  11. Well it looks like Ginobili may be returning tomorrow according to the ESPN status alert. IMO he gives the Hawks more trouble than Duncan. I remember a couple of years ago, when it seemed like Ginobili couldn't miss a shot, it didn't matter what he would throw up at the basket.
  12. Heck, its been a long time since you posted anything that makes sense. I'm starting to wonder if you have nightmares about Marvin leading this team to wins when JJ was out.

    Hey Statguys?

Diesel name a decent wing player the Hawks have played against since Marvin went down?
  14. I really like this mock draft for the Falcons. Sportsline Mock Draft 1st Round 24. Atlanta Falcons Louis Delmas, FS, Western Michigan: The defensive secondary needs Delmas' speed and athleticism, although there might be growing pains as he learns to be more selective in his aggressiveness. 2nd Round 23. Atlanta Falcons Sean Smith, CB, Utah: Domonique Foxworth split town, leaving a need for a man-to-man force like Smith on the outside. 3rd Round 26. Atlanta Falcons Chase Coffman, TE, Missouri: QB Matt Ryan loves this pick because Coffman might have the best hands in the draft. A draft similar to this would settle the Falcons areas of need, outside of DT. It doesn't matter if the Falcons sign L.J. Smith or not, he is too undependable to count on. He is either hurt, or dropping passes when healthy. The Falcons have settled the LB positions IMO; remember Dimitroff drafted a LB last year that had a season ending injury in training camp.
  15. Unfortunately the NBA will probably black that game out if you live in Atlanta; since the game involved a team from Florida. You've just gotta love the stupidity of the league pass rules.
  16. The truth is that the Hawks are 9-1 when Mo Evans starts; and two of those starts were in the place of Joe Johnson. Diesel, you could have at least gotten the facts straight before you started another one of your useless agenda posts!

  18. Yeah Marvin didn't want to shoot the final shot like he didn't want to shoot that 3 point shot in Boston earlier this season!

  20. Ciara Music Video Al first appears in the video around the 4:32 mark.
  21. Definitely go to Venice Beach on weekend if you want to see some of everything. (I'm not going to spoil it by telling you about all of the weird things you'll see there on the weekend.) During the week its a little tamer but on the weekend all the freaks come out. If your wife wants to do some shopping the Grove is a nice place and Universal Studios is a good look also.
  22. I agree with you AHF; no way should the falcons have punted. It's like Smith trusted his defense more than his quarterback; and that makes no sense. The falcons needed a touchdown and even if the defense did make a stop, little time would have been left on the clock with no timeouts. For all the good things that Smith has done this year, his late game decision making has not been one of them.
  23. How about we send Speedy & Zaza to the Clippers for Camby. It works with the ESPN Trade Machine. I'm thinking the Clippers would do this deal because it saves them money from the salary cap next year. Plus I don't see the Clippers trading Kaman before Camby, when Kaman is the better player and 8 years younger. The Hawks would do this deal for obvious reasons (Camby>>>>>> Zaza) and to get rid of the dead weight that is Craig Claxton.
