  1. Pacers gonna have an even tougher battle the rest of the season
  2. And he can get you a great rate if you want to refinance your home mortgage!
  3. I’ve been a UK fan since Sam Bowie, but I didn’t start following the Hawks until the following season when I moved there.
  4. I don’t have personal rankings of players really. After the tournament I’ll probably be keyed in on a few guys moreso. I just want us to come out with a 7 footer. If Sac pick conveys, I want us to come away with 5/4 or 5/3, maybe 4/3. No hard and fast must draft this position at this pick, but ideally BPA within whatever is available between bigs and wings. Done really want to draft a straight up guard since we got Kobe last year and I’d like to sign a vet PG for back up duties.
  5. I didn’t know he played for Atlanta. Or I did and forgot? I didn’t start following the Hawks until 99.
  6. One pick would need to be whatever their most highly rated 7 footer is that’s still on the board at their pick. Upgrading depth at the 5, getting more size at the 5, and developing more talent at the 5 for the future should be their first priority with this draft. They a have a lot of priorities they need to address, but I think this draft offers the best opportunity to address the C issues. More C depth this draft than usual. There are 10 guys listed, at 15/16, we’d still have our choice of 6 or 7 of them. We could even trade down for an additional pick or player and pick from 4 or 5 of them in the 20s or 30s.
  7. I could live with this. One 7 footer and one wing. Yes please.
  8. That would be good for what’s left of the rest of the season when they’re all available. For next season, however, I kind of hope we trade Cap and let Bey walk. Cap is done, and Bey is good at his current contract, but not for whatever raise he’ll get. I hope our frontline looks something along these scenarios: PF : JJ ( 32 ) - OO ( 10 ) - Vet or Rookie ( 6 ) C : OO ( 22 ) - Bruno ( 16 ) - 7’ Vet or Rookie ( 10 ) —Or— PF : JJ ( 32 ) - OO ( 10 ) - Vet or Rookie ( 6 ) C : + Upgrade ( 20 ) - OO ( 16 ) - Bruno ( 12 ) —Or— PF : JJ ( 32 ) - Vet ( 16 ) - Vet or Rookie ( 6 ) C : ++ Upgrade ( 32 ) - Bruno ( 12 ) - Rookie ( 4 )
  9. If we don’t walk away with one or two of these guys (and I’ll add Clingan, Edey, Flip, and Zvonimir Ivisic in the mix too), then I am going to go apeshit. Ideally a highly rated wing like Knecht with the first pick and a 7 footer with the Sac pick.
  10. Do you (the royal collective “you” not just you NCR) think Bruno has proven himself enough to Quin to be a capable, reliable second string center? Has he shown enough to the coaches/FO to give them the confidence to trade CC and roll with OO, Bruno, and a rookie 5? Or Trade CC & OO and get an upgrade to our starting 5? I think so, at least at his contract price point. I just wonder if Quin will be willing to roll with it.
  11. I have nothing against Illinois, per se, but when I think of that school’s bball team, I think of Lon Kruger and a little bit of disgust washes over me.
  12. Probably. UK could potentially have 7, 8 or 9 guys drafted this year! They are crazy deep in talent. They could break the record for most draftees taken from one school, currently at 6 (reached twice, both by UK) If they don’t make it to the final four, it will be Cal’s worst fail. Defense is the only thing keeping them for a guaranteed chip.
  13. he definitely has the most upside of their three big bigs. He’s a couple years away from contributing on an NBA team, but he’s got the tools. Shooting, passing, rim defense... Just needs a little more seasoning and more time in the weight room.
  14. So he falls somewhere between Non-NBA career scrub <————> DPOY Multi-all star I haven’t watched him beyond highlights, so I would weigh your & @KB21 assessments over mine. But such a discrepancy in comps still points to me that you hope he reaches second string/situational big status and draft him accordingly. His floor is too low to draft too high, and his ceiling is too high to wait too late. Mid-late first rounder currently unless he blows up in the NCAA tournament. One thing I marvel about him is he’s like the Cal Ripken of 7+ footers. He hasn’t missed a single game to injury. Remarkable.
  15. Anyone who is watching this game with this available roster are true soldiers. Heroes, all six of you. You have stronger constitutions than me. I salute you
  16. Yeah, iRobot would probably like him more than Quin. He wanted to slow everything down, more half court, less transition. I get it, that plays better in the postseason, but I think he leaned too far into that whereas Quin could stand to embrace it a little more from time to time. I wouldn’t either. I would be comfortable With maybe taking him with the Sac pick, or a trade down pick. Use our first pick for a more athletic, higher upside wing or big. Even his biggest supporter Supes admits he doesn’t fit with many other teams at all, so he won’t be ranked high on many draft boards. If we took him high, it would be like bidding against ourselves for him. I do think Edey could be good with Trae like Supes says, but IDK if the total package is good enough to warrant extended minutes. Use a later pick on him with the expectation that he could develop into a good backup/situational big, and be happily surprised if he turns into more.
  17. Looking forward to Saturday! 4pm on CBS in case anyone else wants to check out Knecht vs my Cats.
  18. The fact that there’s even a debate over which scrub some other team cast off the Hawks need is enough to tell you this season is a lost cause.
  19. I think Trae and JJ are the only two close to being sacred cows. Hunter is for only one person here. OO has fans, but I doubt there’s anyone who wouldn’t trade him for the right return. JJ could get us more per dollar than anyone, only problem is his contract is so little that we could never get enough value back unless he is included in a bigger package. I bet OO would get a fair return. He’s a pretty good player on a decent contract and still young enough to improve. Not great, not bad. Hunter is more valuable to us than others, but that’s largely due to how poor our SF depth is. If we don’t have him we don’t have much, and we don’t have him often. That’s a big problem for us and anyone else considering trading for him. No one is going to give up value for his contract + injury history. His contract wouldn’t be bad if he didn’t miss so much time. What we need a legit starting SF and leave Hunter coming off the bench making a bigger impact in fewer minutes hoping that prevents more injuries. But then again, that’s a big contract to pay someone coming off the bench. Maybe if we could get BI then between the two of them we could have one healthy, impactful SF starting all season Wishful thinking.
  20. I haven’t seen him play, but I hope to catch him when UK play Tennessee.
  21. Edey seems like a guy I wouldn’t want us to take with our first (ATL) pick, but could be someone to consider with the second (SAC) pick assuming that falls in the 20s, or trade down for him. We need legit size, which he has. He is someone I could see taking a flyer on if we trade Capela and we let him and Bruno battle it out to be OO’s primary backup. If he does anything better than that, then that’s gravy. But don’t expect him to become a starter so don’t use too high of a pick on him.
  22. I’m just saying slow them down more than OO could on his own. Not stop them. It’s more about having a decent big body to throw out there when going up against other big bodies that are too much for OO to handle for a whole game to keep them in check, whether they’re a unicorn or a Steven Adams. Speed bumps, not stop signs. Don’t give them permission to dominate for 36 minutes.
