  1. I'm just happy I don't have to see Josh Smith play anymore. He is an insult to offensive basketball.
  2. The difference between those guys and Cousins, is that Cousins can play. He'll stick around for looong time regardless of his attitude. He reminds me more of Rasheed Wallace, who had all the talent in the world but peaked as a complimentary player due to his attitude, probably will be the case with Cousins.
  3. He did a better job than Schreoder according to me. Dennis has struggled with defense big time so far, which is totally normal for a rookie, though I admit I was expecting a bit more on that side of the court from him what with all the Rondo comparisons and such.
  4. i think the fact he sat out for almost an entire quarter was probably the reason. He looked out of rhythm
  5. Anyone notice Milsap rallying the troops for a huddle after the kings cut the lead? I like Milsap's attitude, and he seems to have a clutch gene. You can't compare us with the Spurs. Duncan has played there for 20 years, most of our roster hasn't played with each other for more than a few games. I think rotating leadership makes sense for a team that has no idea what their identity is quite just yet.
  6. It's been 1 three over 4 games though, I wouldn't be too concerned about it just yet.
  7. Cartier plays with great effort on defense, but his frame is too slight. Carroll is much stronger than Cartier and plays with equal effort. I don't think Demarre is going to play this poorly on offense all year, I would wait at least a month before pulling him.
  8. I'd say free throw shooting was the main culprit. If we are even average at FTs this game we win by a decent margin.
  9. It was a close call. If you're a Laker fan you look at Mils sliding his right leg as Pau is going up and say it's a block. As a Hawks' fan you say he got set on time. a 50/50 call... obviously we aren't going to get a lot of those called our way lol.
  10. Minutes played by starters has gone down across the league the last few years. I think it has to do with advanced metrics shaping coaching philosophies. The same reason volume players have become almost completely devalued when in eras past they would always be sought after. The way I see it the game is becoming more team / bench oriented, as GMs and coaches understand that it's better to keep your high priced assets fresh and healthy for as long as possible. I do agree Hor should get more touches, but a big part of it is on Horford. He needs to be more aggressive, demanding the ball, and putting shots up. If his jumper is not going in, it seems like he decides to play a passive role.
  11. Maybe the idea was to curl Korver, and only go his way if it was wide open. Maybe Antić got anxious and didn't wait for his other options... who knows
  12. Josh Smith is an addict, and playing stupid basketball is his drug. The Pistons basically oppened up the doors to the crack mansion and put out the Welcome mat for J-Smoove. Will be fun to watch Detroit fans pull out all their hair this year. I think only Stephen Curry is shooting more threes.
  13. Elton Brand should get more minutes, he gives us some toughness inside when he's in there
  14. Teague ISO at the top of the key was the way to go IMO. 6 seconds is plenty of time.
  15. We have officially entered the twilight zone. Hawks > Falcons : (
  16. His awareness during a few of his dimes last game were off the charts. If his court vision continues to improve the sky is the limit for Teague.
  17. Third quarter of game 6(or was it game 5) when we were taking it to them. Sure seemed like we would take that seires.
  18. From purely a fans perspective, who doesn't want to see this guy play? It'll be fun to have him on the team and give us the occasional rim shattering put back/alley oop, and blocked shot.
  19. Teague + Schröder is looking like the most talent we've had at the position, maybe ever. Say what you will about Ferry's long term plan, but drafting Dennis and keeping Teague at a good price are two slam dunk moves. I think the team this year will surprise a lot of people. Outside of the Heat, we have a chance to be as good as anyone in the eastern conference. I think this season will show that just how much Josh had become a detriment last season, both with his incredibly poor decision making on offense and his attitude during games. Millsap will be an upgrade, and we will be getting Lou Williams back, plus the Rooks chipping in. Expect Horford's and Teague's numbers both to improve as they become the focal point of the offense. People seem to forget, but Horford and Teague were developing some great chemistry last year, and when they were both on their games and playing together the team looked AWESOME. Getting rid of Josh and hiriing a better coach should only help to continue to improve this chemistry IMO. If Ferry signs a couple of more decent players, we will also be looking at one very deep team. Not too bad.
  20. Schroeader hasn't played in an NBA league game lolol. I'm loving he's getting atention but so were so many innumerable scrubs throughout the history of summer league. Let's not lose our heads here until we at least see him be effective against actual NBA players, instead of scrubs and rookies trying to make teams. IF he doesn't develop his offensive game the guy will never even be a starter in this league with his current skill set so let's at least see him play and improve before we crown him.
  21. Rondo was not very good his rookie season though. Saying Schröder who has shown great passing skills (against ultimate scrubs) and almost no offense is already better than Teague who had the most 20- 10 games last season of any player not named Paul, is beyond absurd. I just hope that if Schröder struggles his rookie season (which he probably will) all these people that are salivating over 2 minute highlight reels and five alley oops in summer league don't crucify the kid. I obviously hope that Schröder is the next big thing at PG, but these people who seriously consider that he will be a better player from day 1 than Teague are just going to be overwhelmingly disapointed when Vets start making Schröder look silly at both ends. If there's one position where it's difficult to come in and play it's PG. People say Rondo and Parker did it right away, but the truth is both were pretty bad early on despite having the benefit of being sorrounded by some of the most stacked teams of the past 30 years. Thinking Schroeader is capable of coming in and averaging better than 15-7 with very good/great percentages from the field, three, and the stripe are basically saying Schröder is capable of having one of the best rookie campaigns of any PG in the history of the NBA. The fact this bold prediction stems from the guy averaging 9 points and 6 assists in summer league just about makes it the most ludicrous thing I've seen on the board... perhaps ever.
  22. This is nowhere on the internet. How can your son know it? Does he have an inside contact for Bynum, the Hawks???
