KAT or Embiid. I don’t think Giannis would be as effective in PnR PnP early on..

If you were the coach, what would you do that LP isn’t ?

Play to your strengths ?! This roster has no damn strengths at all. We can’t shoot. Have 1 creator. Team isn’t good defensively so we can’t just run. This roster is a dumpster fire and that MATTERS.

You know..the reason why VC probably gets so much playing time is because we probably promised him just to get him to come back. Vince has been adamant about wanting to actually play and not ride the bench.

Most of the players we have literally don’t know how to play pro ball. Outside of maybe 2 or 3 players, our entire roster is filled with negative impact type defenders. I felt we exceeded expectations both from a W/L standpoint and a development standpoint last year. We literally have a roster filled with G league caliber players. I just can’t see how you could point the finger at the coach.

So, I know there’s a lot of people around here who feel this team would perform better with a different coach. Who would some of you all like to see (even if seemingly impossible), what type of impact do you think he would have on W/Ls, why do you want him/how do you think he’d help ?

As far as I’m concerned

To be fair, the rookies are performing as projected after their first full month AFAIC.

I think Anthony Edwards represents BPA and arguably best fit right now. It will be harder to find that second guy we need to take some of the ball handling and pressure off of Trae. He looks every bit the part of an elite slasher. That half court bounce pass was the most beautiful pass I’ve ever seen from a college player. He’s got a good pull up shot out to about 24-25 ft. Very athletic. Reminds me of a bigger Donovan Mitchell. NBA ready body. 6’5” 220 with a +4 wingspan. Explosive athlete. Legitimate lead scorer type talent. Solid defender with potential to be great. Has a high level of confidence and certain degree of poise. Trae Young Anthony Edwards DeAndre Hunter John Collins Rim protector/finisher Thats enough talent to contend.

We have two glaring needs that I do not think can be filled by any player currently on the roster. We need another perimeter scorer with playmaking ability who can play off of Trae primarily and step up as the primary ball handler in certain lineups. The other glaring weakness is a guy who can protect the rim, defend the PnR, catch the basketball (!) and finish strong around the basket. If we get lucky, he can hit the corner 3 and/or midrange reliably. I do think Hunter, Reddish, and Huerter will all improve from the 3 around January barring injuries. If we had Collins, I think we’d be floating around .500.

I’m almost certain campster is white.

Can’t forget the fact that he draws a lot of new interest from the European market.

I’m convinced now that we are covert tanking. Wiseman or Edwards both work with what we have here.

It’s just Schlenk wants to appear more like a mad genius. He needs to stop f’n around and put some real vets on the team. To paraphrase..”We’re gonna roll Turner as our backup PG..” ..like what ? You replace a solid, maybe low end starter in Dedmon with a pair of complete DUDs. Then everyone else who plays real minutes has been in the league for less than 3 years. Schlenk was doing well until AFTER this draft. I gave him the benefit of the doubt because I liked his moves the previous two years.

Nah bro. There is one (and only IMO) glaring difference between the two is Luka has played winning professional ball and Trae has not. Similar strength, Similar weaknesses. Luka plays with veterans and has an experienced coach. The reality is it’s a matter of preference. The difference between the two is marginal at best. BUT That guy IS a BAD BAD MFer.

A lot of our ills will be healed by better veterans. We shoot a bunch of 3s because that really is the only way we can generate offense. We need another guy who can create opportunities from the perimeter so Trae doesn’t feel compelled to play hero ball like he is now. Trae HAS to play hero ball for us to even have a chance because he’s the only guy who can create his own shot consistently.

Wait for real ?! So you play the other conference semi finalist before you get to the finals ? What do you think they’re trying to accomplish by doing this ?

The counter to traps and double teams is competent teammates. Particularly for Trae a big, forgiving target he can pass off to when the pressure comes and Len not Jones fit that bill.

Most of the players are still learning how to play pro ball. Take it easy on LP..
