  1. I would be reallistic, we are not going to sign Pekovic, Dalembert, Oden, Wright, Aldrich or Mozgov are more reallistic options and even I doubt Dalembert or Oden would consider us.
  2. In my opinion Dally, Oden and Brandan Wright are better players and I think Aldrich will be better also.
  3. I think he will be at SF what Ivan Johnson was at PF last year, hard working guy that can do a little bit of everything and can defend well. I think that is a fair comparison, the new Ivan at SF.
  4. Ferry said yesterday they are looking for a big. What is left on the FA market? Listing them by my preference order - Samuel Dalembert - Great fit, good defensive center, could play a lot of minutes allowing Al moving to PF. - Greg Oden - For me still worth the risk - Brandan Wright - A little bit thin but can do the work. - Cole Aldrich - Made some progress last year, good rebounding Center that is able to block some shots, still 24, I would definately try to sign him so that we can develop him, he was a 6th pick for a reason, I guess... - Timofey Mozgov - Serviceable big.
  5. Demarre Carroll can do that I guess. Anyway I would take a chance on James Johnson, he is a high upside guy and could be very valuable for us.
  6. I would go after a center, I already said that a reasonable target is Samuel Dalembert, he would be a great fit next to Horford, would provide finally a true rim protector at Center. On the wing we still need help, we just have Jenkins, Korver and Carroll, none of them are starting material and are really weak defenders, I guess Jenkins will have the opportunity to start, also there is nothing left on the FA market. The optimum solution would be to trade Lou for a reliable starter but another solution would be someone like Ronnie Brewer that would be able to provide quality minutes, we really need defense on the wing.
  7. You forgot to include Ronnie Brewer, I think he could be a good fit with our shooters, good defender, athletic, has size, can shoot with good percentages, has struggled to find consistent minutes the last 3 seasons but could be very helpful on providing balance to the team, pairing him with Korver for example.
  8. And I'm really happy we will match, he is a 25 year old PG that has been improving all the seasons, you just don't let such a talented player go without anything in return, the deal is really reasonable, I think this is a win for Hawks and I'm really happy, Jeff is my favourite Hawks player.
  9. I agree we should trade Lou, he is no PG and a liability on defense at SG. We need to play as much as possible Schröder and Jenkins and Lou will only take minutes out for them and he will not make us a contenders, he also has 5 M$ of cap space, the best we can do is trade him for draft picks. About Horford it took us 4 unsuccesful drafts to draft a player like Al, we should rebuild around Horford, Teague, Schröder, Jenkins, Bebe, Muscala and tons of cap space, we are just one star wing player on draft and one good FA away of been contenders, we could rebuild in just 2 years so I say try to develop the young players this year as much as possible, go to the lottery, and keep cap flexibility. Teague/Schröder ?/Jenkins Jabari Parker/Korver Horford/Scott ?/Bebe/Muscala
  10. I would like to play as much as possible the following lineup: Schröder, Jenkins, Adonis Thomas, Scott and Muscala. I have some hopes with Muscala and also with Adonis Thomas, I think he could be a valuable piece at SF a good defensive player with great physical tools with an offensive game to develop but he is still 20 years old and we don't have any prospect at SF, I would sign him and play on the D-league, he was considered a great prospect one day.
  11. That would be my plan also, add also Brewer so that we can have a good defensive wing and try to trade Williams.
  12. No, it's not time to tank but tells you the difference on value we have to pay for the same production. I mean we have paid the same amount of money for a guy averaging 6 ppg, 3 rpg on his best season against a player that averaged 16 ppg, 5 rpg, 3 apg, that's the history for us.
  13. A SF with size, good defender and can shot the 3 pt with good accuracy for a team without any SF??? You are right, not a good fit....
  14. Blazers signed Dorrell Wright for 2 years, 6M$, just one million more than DeMarre Carroll, that's the difference between Portland and Atlanta, Wright could have been starting at Atlanta very easily given our lack of reliable wing players, he was one of the best out there, now we will have to play 6th tier FAs.
  15. Dolfan, are you really seriously saying Korver's value is the same as JR Smith's value, best 6th man of the year and 5 years younger?
  16. Just a view of how bad this contract is, JR. Smith signed for the same amount and is 5 years younger. His stats last season were 18,1ppg, 5,3 rpg, 3 apg, 1,2 spg .422%, now compare them to Korver's, then just cry...
  17. Brewer would be an excellent addition, good defender, has size and can shoot the 3 pt, definately an upgrade over what we have. Dorrell Wright would also be a great pickup for us, same tools plus a little bit more of size and rebounding.
  18. For a guy that is a liability on defense and can play 20-25 mpg at the very maximum in playoffs if you don't want to get destroyed on defense I think 6M$ is too much. He is already 32 and we will be paying 6M$ to a bench 36 year old guy in 4 years.
  19. Dolfan, in this case is your money and your faith on Ferry against the 10 games I have seen from Nogueira, it's not a fair bet... I would like to be wrong about this guy, but I'm afraid he will not reach the potential you all guys think he has... I don't think he can even reach Splitter's potential.
  20. Nogueira is the 3rd big on a bad team on the Spanish League, he is not Joakim Noah, not Tyson Chandler, true he is big but he needs to add 30-40 lbs and learn to play offensively, defensively I hope that with 30-40 lbs more he will be able to withstand defensively because now is not the case. Guys, there is a decent chance this guy never plays on the NBA, he performs much worse than Splitter at the same age at a worst team on the same league.
  21. To say it more clear, we got a starter at 1st round and a big that can be at best Dieng and at worst never play on the league. We could have gone with Dieng, probably the best case for Nogueira or some likely role starters as Karasev or Bullock. Ennis and Muscala can become reliable backup players, I cannot understand why we gave up on Ennis.
  22. I think we got 50% right and 50% wrong. Schröder is a good pick, I think he will be a steal on this draft, one of the best PG of this draft class, we got the BPA althought did not fill a need but very good value. Nogueira will be a bust, I doubt even if he will play on the NBA someday, he is already 21 and has not shine on ACB, in fact he is the 3rd big on his team. To make a fair comparison he has much less impact than Splitter at the same age and on the same league on a weaker team. His frame needs to be filled and I think he will never do it. I would have taken Dieng or Bullock, no doubt here, they have a chance to become players on this league. Muscala was great value at 2nd round, I think he could become on a backup big for many years on this league. Ennis was also great pick on the 2nd round, we were lucky to have him available there, he is viewed on the 5-10th best SF of this class, he is a good athlete and a good defender at SF, exactly what we need, compared to Jimmy Butler, and we just traded him for a late second rounder, I still cannot understand that, another miss.
  23. 17th KCP, Shabazz Muhammad, Bullock, Franklin, Adekotunbo in that order. 18th Steven Adams, Dieng, or whoever is available from the top list, if we have selected a SG, then pick a SF and otherwise.
  24. First season on the NBA is always difficult for a big man, he is not undersized, in fact he has a good size for the PF position 6'9" and 244 lbs, excellent rebounder, good defense, very good motor, athletic, can score inside, averaged 4,5 ppg, and 4,1rpg on 13 mpg if given the time I can see him averaging 12 ppg, 11rpg, 1,5 spg, 1 bpg that would be good numbers for a PF. He is compared to Al Horford, that's not bad. I understand he is not a good fit, our bigger needs are at C, SG and SF but I see a high upgrade in terms of talent compared to the guys we could select at 17 and 18th pick unless Adams and KCP or Muhammad are availalble. He is much better than Plumlee and Ollynik that are more PF than C, I don't see Dieng as a reliable starter on the future and Gobert is not strong enough to play on the NBA. We have just 4 players under contract we need players to compete.
  25. Houston is talking about a trade for pick number 19 or 20. I would do it for pick 18 in a heartbeat, he is a very good prospect on a stronger draft class, he is much bigger value than the value we could obtain with that pcik on this draft, we need bodies, we need depth, we need young talent, this would be an awesome trade for us, thoughts?
